My guess is that the coil tests fine with an ohm meter but breaks down from the high voltage when generating a spark, enjoy the vids, many thanks. Keep em coming😉
This is my first time watching your video. I also work on just about anything with an engine. I enjoy watching other people diagnose problems which could help figure out if something's not working what it could be. I thought for sure when the coil tested pretty good and it would not spark that the key way on top of the motor might have shared off. Up until 2 years ago I never knew anything about that. It was just like today I was watching others work on things and came across someone pointing out one of the reasons a motor might not run. I'm glad you had an old coil there to test the engine. I never mind buying parts as long as I know that's what it needs. In my area this is the house where yard equipment comes to die. I don't charge my neighbors and friends for working on their equipment. I only recharged them if I need to buy a part and I give them the option to buy it theirselves or reimburse me. And some of the neighbors that just don't want to have their stuff fixed that they rather buy new they bring their stuff to me and sit it in front of my garage. What diameter of rope did you put back into the pull starter? I have bought some a little while ago and it just seems to thin so I haven't used it yet. It looks like it's more for two stroke than four stroke. I really did enjoy watching your video. I definitely hit the like and subscribe button. I never have a problem doing that since it's the least I can do for you sharing information. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I have a video of repairing those cracked plastic fuel tanks with super glue and baking soda. It works amazing. There's a lot of TH-cam videos on this.
Did you ohn the primary of the coil? also did you clean the two post where the coil mounds down to, ive have had 3 this year that it was the posts need cleaned and got spark back
Don't even try to figure it out. I do what you did cleaning the contacts and if it doesn't fire throw on another one. of course I test it with kill wire connected and dis connected. Good one mate!
Good one Mick i bought new coil for ride on mower as no spark then after a close check over of old one plug cap not in cable correctly couple of screw in and coil working
Mick, that coil is a head scratcher ! Maybe something is going on with the kill tab but yet the coil still tests fine. Mower works great now that you got down and dirty with it. 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍 Roger

Thx for the shout out Sir Mick! And thanks for making it “original”!

I think you are right. Coils really need testing with a high voltage tester, like a mega..Shorts or broken insulation will not show on a multi-meter.
Great fix Mick, a pleasure to watch
Mick you are amazing, I could watch you all day, love your channel should be on prime time TV mate.
Ta brother.. great comment
Sweet result. Happy as Larry.
Lol
Cracking video again Mick that was a weird one with the coil 👍👍👍👍
Yeah mate
Hayter live on . great fix mick 💪
Nice one Mick. At the end of the day you got it purring so top job. Catch you saturday

Hi bud.. ta for the comment.. I use 3.5mm for pull cord .. 2.5 for two strokes..
@@themowerman thank you I appreciate your help.
@@davidfrank2824 no problems
Great vid Mick 👍🏻
Road Runner says great video!
Next on my mower shopping list 🙂
excellent work Mick, sounds like a decent mower.

Blow some hayter smoke on the clean laundry mate
Yeah I know lol
Awesome video Mick
Ta brother
Hi mick did the electric start work on it good fix 👍 will make a good mower
Yes did see you test it 🙉
i had same problem this week mick well done hope riley boys ok not mentioned him much lately be good buddy
Oh he's about mate.. he has been busy making sure Mrs p is busy lol
A cracking fix Mick. Weird about the coil, sometimes you will never know. Great channel fella 👍🏻
Thanks brother.. yeah coil trouble.. a hard one to find the problem
Perhaps the HT lead itself is just hanging by a thread. Test OK on the bench, and bend the wire, just so on the mower to break continuity?
Yeah I have tried that Hun.. it's still not having it
Great vid Mick, if you try to figure out the coil issue please share. It’s a rabbit hole to go down 😁🤘🙏⛳️
Will do brother
Another great job Sir Mick! Keep it up brother!
Thanks cupcake
Nice one . Could I just ask you if the qualcast 41 grass box will fit on a hayter 41 the bar type not the hook. 🙏
Don't think it will mate I have some I think.. email me a photo of what you need
Great video cheers. You got any videos on the quantum service and spring adjustments? Mine hunts a lot. Cheers.
Drill the main jet out that should stop it
Hey mick luv the channel spot on as always how do you deal with a bent crank shaft ? I watched you replace one but is there a way to straighten them ?
Hi Rob.. you can straighten them with a tool.. but it's expensive. Some people use a hammer but I'm not a fan of doing it ..
I think it might rain 👍👍
Thank you
No worries brother
You had this bird behind you not fazed by you starting the lawnmower two feet by you ! The box for the carb I've never seen that weird .
That is kes
I think that smarty bird is looking for bugs and grubs that wiggle to the surface after a mower goes by.
Great show Mick well done bud / that is a strange one with the coil 👍
Yeah a head scratcher
@@themowerman I look forward to the diagnosis lol good luck bud 👍

I will check it out brother
Did you ohn the primary of the coil? also did you clean the two post where the coil mounds down to, ive have had 3 this year that it was the posts need cleaned and got spark back
Yeah mate did the post.. it's a funny one.. I have tried the coil on another mower that was working and still no spark..
Don't even try to figure it out. I do what you did cleaning the contacts and if it doesn't fire throw on another one. of course I test it with kill wire connected and dis connected. Good one mate!
Yeah mate 😌 just worry about getting them running
Remember the one we looked at Mick some while ago that was a coil problem.
Another great episode Mick!! Keep it up!!
Thanks mate
Any mate of Taryl , is a mate of mine !🌵
Ta mate
Coil tested good but some where along the it didn't spark most be a short some where
Yeah mate
Henry plagurizes tarryl
My money's on a gammy ht lead or bad connection between ht lead and plug cap
Good one Mick i bought new coil for ride on mower as no spark then after a close check over of old one plug cap not in cable correctly couple of screw in and coil working
Ok some good information mate
Mick, that coil is a head scratcher ! Maybe something is going on with the kill tab but yet the coil still tests fine. Mower works great now that you got down and dirty with it. 🇺🇸🇬🇧👍 Roger
I'm still trying to understand why.. thinking it's just a bad coil
We could spend a lot of time wondering why that first coid didn't fire or relish in the sound of the now running engine 🤔 all in all great job
Yeah mate.. I'm not going to worry about it and onto the next.. ta for watching mate
Coil issues can make you scratch your head. Great fix and another Quantum save. 😎😀
