    I never thought about using the button foot as a guide for marking the button holes on my fabric. Thanks for the tip :)

    Great video Sophia, with some great shirt sewing tips. The finished jacket/shirt looks super, it looks good on you, and the natural linen is a fantastic fabric choice. Thank you very much for filming it for us.

    Thanks for the clear explanation. I had also missed the instruction about cutting the notch deeper and I just couldn’t understand why the collar was working. Thanks for pointing that out. I like the tortoise style buttons- I always like then on a white shirt. Try the archer

    Hi Sophia, fab tutorial and I'm loving that pattern...right up my street style wise 👌♥. This might get me away from the Kalle shirt for a bit 😉. Adore your linen fabric too and perfect for this shirt style. You explain things so well Sophia...thanks so much 😁💕😘

    Great tutorial as you also explain what you would do differently but I think the buttons go great with the linen🔘✂️😊

    Love what you’ve done here Sophia. I tested this pattern for Friday pattern but I made the long version. I really liked yours and you’ve motivated me ta make another in Linen, Thankyou
    What do you think it would look like in the coral cord which I bought from you?

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yey! Thanks so much. Have you got the Coral Linen or the Terracotta Needlecord? To be honest this pattern would look great in both! x

    Thanks for your great tutorial! Do you have any tips for attaching the sleeves? I have tried 3 or 4 times now and keep getting weird bunching and puckering .

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Is it the bulk under the armpit? I had no problem with mine, so maybe check your pattern sizing? Did you cut the sleeve in a bigger size? x

    Question about sewing with linen. I got beautiful linen for a top but in the washing instructions is says "Do not iron" Am I still able to press the fabric if there is a cloth between the fabric and the iron? So confused. XD

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why you can't iron it, but yes a cloth or baking parchment between would work. Test a small amount first to see what happens. Maybe its a blend of linen? x

    Do you have the pattern link? Or where can i buy it?

    • @Jessalli

      Always check your local independent shops, but you can buy it direct from the pattern designer here: fridaypatterncompany.com/products/the-ilford-jacket-pdf-pattern

    As the others have said, thank you. I purchased the actual pattern and the instructions and images in the book are the absolutely not helpful. I think instructions on a simplicity pattern are better. Anyhow I have to know what pattern is your blue overalls? I’ve been looking for something like that.

    • @Jessalli
      @Jessalli  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you found it helpful. The overalls are a self drafted pattern. I've been meaning to do a video but just don't have the time right now. x
