This car is such a game changer on every level, the looks alone makes the Porsche seem so yesterday.
The Porsche 911 is supposed to look "yesterday", important part of its appeal as it evolves from 1963. Last year Porsche offered the 50th anniversary model, but there is nothing ancient in its performance. Still the benchmark.
BMW really keeps producing perfect car after car. They just introduced M3, M4 and the city car i3 and now this.

Without a doubt, Recombu provides the best car reviews. The cinematography is fantastic and the soundtrack always matches the car's personality perfectly. Rory takes these reviews above and beyond. I never thought I would find a better reviewer than Jeremy Clarkson but after seeing this, I realized what a review truly is. I really wish people would stop comparing this to a 911, you're comparing apples and oranges! When Porsche stick a hybrid system in the 911 which can achieve 40 grams of C02 per km then perhaps we can talk!

You can have a M3, Golf R, a Subaru, Audi TT, and have 100s of break horse power but they all use the 911/porsche badge as a benchmark.

Totally different types of car. Buy the 760Li if you want to carry passengers. Buy the i8 if you want to feel like you're in the future.
good review but I wish one of the reviewers would sit in the back seat so we know if its a usable backseat or not..
We sat in the back. It's not for anybody taller than about 5'5". If you're taller than that you can definitely get in, but you wouldn't want to stay there for more than about 10 minutes. It's for kids or small women. Or bags. The boot (trunk) is tiny too. You can get a couple of backpacks in there... hope that helps.

You're comparing a sedan and sports car, that are both hybrid. Sure, since the tesla is all electric, it can fit a big battery, but the i8 is slick, and not meant to be heavy, as in the tesla it's pretty heavy. In the end it all comes down to whom wants a sedan or sports car, And also the i8 can seat 4, not comfortably but it can, that's impressive for a sports car.

Hopefully, BMW will change its mind and work on an M i8 so it can compete with the SLS electric

Not a trend setter, not at £100000, far too expensive, trend setting in motoring happens with the budget models, because the most amount of people get to drive them, a car that only 0.01% of the population can afford will not set trends, because of how few people it gets to influence, this is a good technological achievement but comes at too great a price.
