The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is the best sports sedan out there

  • You could buy the BMW, and be boring. You could buy the Mercedes-Benz, and be smugly content. You could be the Audi, and play it safe. You could buy the Lexus, and be comfortable enough. Or... you could buy the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, and be a hero.
If you make the heroes choice, you now have 505 horsepower at your disposal thanks to a Ferrari-derived 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. It works magic to the rear end through an eight-speed gearbox.
On the outside, you have a muscular and mean machine with a perfectly poised stance. Inside, the Alfa gets down to business with its thin-rimmed suede and leather steering wheel and massive paddles to control the transmission. The seats are excellent, which is good because you're going to want to fling this four-door beast through the corners.
It's not cheap. It's definitely not perfect (keep your warranty information handy). But it is the most thrilling machine in its segment.

Hey, maybe a little late with the review but I liked your honest hands on approach. I traded my C63 in for this and have had it for almost a year, I love. It's Italian, it tries to kill you in a good way. I can because I have an M3 and a C63 and this is by far the best drivers car I have driven. The breaking is not a real issue within a few days you get use to it. The warning lights is all parr of the Alfa thing but again it's not lot me down so far. As for attention this thing gets it never ceases to amaze me, it's loved. Great review. 👍

Great review, one of the best actually for Giulia Quadrifoglio.
All the carbon bits you mentioned should be standard (exc. carbon trimmed steering wheel, carbon seats and carbon-ceramic breaks), but the spoiler and the lip and the inside carbon trim- that is all in standard. At least here in EU. And the main thing with this car is, it maybe expensive as standard but you already get 80% of the stuff, all other 20% you can add as extra are more of a gimmick stuff you really don't need (exc. the steering wheel with carbon trim! :D ). But if you go for the base M3 or S63 or RS4 ... german cars base trim is shit to be honest, you want to add extra bits and packages and competition packs and what not (and those manufactures know it and are capitalizing on that) . Add all those extra bits and then suddenly you are 4-5k over the base Giulia price and still not that cool or fast...
Most of the electronic quibbles that those early Giulia Quadrifoglios had- were solved simply with a system update, so no big deal. And 2017 year Quadrifoglio model owners can upgrade their entertainment system totally free to have the Apple Car Play or Android Auto, so you are not left out.
Can't wait to grab one of these in next few years from used car market. Almost fully loaded ones are already on sale with 63000euros (72500 USD) in EU used car market place with very low mileage on them.
Another thing is that I would get the automatic gearbox, it is so good in Giulia. I have driven both gearbox versions in Giulia- manual and automatic. Automatic feels so much better on this car somehow... maybe because the manual was not good from the first place. So people in the land of the brave and free... you should not feel like you are missing out- that manual is so much worse than automatic! :)

The handling is almost porsche-esque. Love this car. I however do not agree on two points. My gas mileage is amazing. Im easily getting 32 mpg on highway and 15.5 in the town. The leg room in the back is amazing and a very tall person can sit in the back with room to spare.

im irish . not sure if you know this about the four leaf clover. it normally grows with only 3 leafs but like 1 in a million of those grow with 4 leafs and legend goes if you find a 4 leaf one. you will have good luck for the rest of your life. that fella must have known about this when putting it on the car. i thought only irish people would know this. maybe, maybe not. not sure...

    • @pdecu69
      @pdecu69 5 ปีที่แล้ว

TangleTwister Actually the 4 leaves thing you talking about is very popular in Italy (at least in northern Italy) and through great part of Europe. Seeking for 4 leaves clover (quadrifoglio) instead of the 3 one (trifoglio) it's something I remember doing when I was a kid. So it's exactly as you're saying. Don't know if this thing originated from Ireland But it surely has quite ancient origins.

Saludos.

Fantastic car, until it breaks down on the drive back from the dealership
After you took it to the dealership because t broke down on the side of the road.

Give the FCA bashing a break, why don't you? Like 94.6% of all those who bash FCA reliability but have never actually owned an FCA product. "Yeah, I saw all these TH-cam videos and internet car reviews that badmouth FCA so I guess it must be true". Or my favorite..."My cousins barber's accountant knows a lady whose daughter's college roommate's uncle had a Dodge that always broke down on him". Full disclosure, I actually owned a Dodge Durango SUV and never had a single issue with it.

J High Found the FCA fanboi LOL you're delusional.FCA is at the bottom of every.single.reliability.ranking and survey. Alfa's unreliability is the stuff of legend and specifically the Giulia has left several journalists stranded and gone into limp mode on the track. Do a simple freakin Google search and get your head out of your ass.

Not a fanboy at all. I bet you clicked on this video just to FCA bash. I'm aware that FCA has had its share of reliability issues. That said, this car is a monster and I wouldn't hesitate to lease one of these in a heartbeat.

FedoraMcGentlesir that's true to most performance modern vehicles. Even the Civic type R are having transmission and overheating issues. But the Alfa is pretty special. The more you love cars, the more you fall in love with this Alfa.

Kai Lin No, it’s the best in it’s class and Alfa are so confident of that fact that they offer a 5 year warranty. I know that terrifies German car fanboys like you but you’ll have to get used to the fact that there’s a new gun in town.
