What about the reboot says “woke”? The fact that they’re teens? You know you can not like or hate something without having to group it as “woke” right? It makes it seem like you’re just using the same generic term. I think it’s not that they’re “woke” it’s that they’re hipster twerps, and seem to be made for mass appeal to drive up numbers. That’s not anyone else’s fault but gamers who treat their entertainment like it’s important or has any kind of an impact on the real world. That’s what happens when you wrap your identity into something that means nothing. We told companies that all that matters is money, trends, and validation, yet now that they’ve got what they wanted they’re mad because it doesn’t revolve around them. You’re not entitled to anything just because you’re a fan. We’ve got this weird mentality where if we consume something it makes it “ours”. So people whine and cry like babies when something isn’t made for them, gatekeep by trying to say “only WE are real gamers” even though they’re no different from the people they say that to. Buy it or don’t. In fact let’s not buy any new games for a couple of years. I know that’s not gonna happen because Americans are too weak willed, but it’s help. Not to mention the same people claiming things are “woke” are the same guys who say, with ZERO irony, “Everyone is racist against me because I’m white” when they demonstrate who people don’t like their basic bitch personality. It’s also the same guys who say “I have no friends or a girlfriend and that’s everyone else’s fault because I’m owed a perfect 10 to take care of me”! I know I’m the bad guy now for not losing my mind over some shitty game. Most games are shitty, because gamers will support these billion dollar industry no matter what, then claim that everyone else is “ruining gaming” while people throw money at Fornight, MOBA’s, Call of Duty, Last of Us, Sims, Pokémon, and whatever Esports game that people obsess over. So maybe you and yours, rather than talking about how everyone is against them cause the read it on the internet, while attacking others in “self-defense” should look at how silly it is to be this upset over what is basically a toy. I can assume that there are far more people who have spent most of their lives being traumatized than those who have been surrounded by love and understanding. In the absence of people who validate you and love you for who you are, you will need a way to escape the reality for at least a little bit in order not to start googling 'suicide 101'. One of such ways is videogames. In this particular case, we had 2 games that allowed you: a) customise your character (you can relate to him/her even more) b) the game was called a GTA clone and turned out to be anything but (you relate to this because other people don't get you; too bad - there's much more to you than what first meets the eye) c) the plot (it has tons of things you can relate to; sort of like Harry Potter books for kids, only with dark humour and human shields) d) the details: names like Freckled Bitches, Rim Jobs or Nobody Loves Me show you that this game is not about conforming to the very rules of society you are trying to escape from; at least here you are free. e) the devs say they love you (you are VALIDATED! Finally someone acknowledges what everyone else thinks of as unimportant! At this point, you still think that you've found your 'gang' and at least these guys care about you if noone else will in real life. ...and so on, and so forth. You are emotionally engaged A LOT at this point. You CARE for the characters now. You see the company who created this game as someone who 'gets you'. You almost feel like you are starting to care for the developers too for giving you such masterpiece. ....until they take a huge shit on your trust, your joy, your loyalty etc. and become as abusive and toxic as pretty much everyone around you IRL. Just brush it off as if nothing happened? Pardon me, not everyone is a robot with no emotions or feelings. Most of the backlash Volition received was the fans actually saying: "Why did you hurt our feelings? We trusted you!" and asking for their pain to be acknowledged. What does the company do? They say:"You are fine! You're not hurt - it's all in your head! Just snap out of it lol". I'm not a psychologist, just a keen fan of psychology and this is my attempt to explain why this situation is so bad.

Here's the thing about occupy Wallstreet. They were blaming corporations, but a big reason for the collapse was that congress banned banks from redlining. Effectively forcing them to give out loans in areas with an alarmingly high default rate. Then congress bailed them out, making the middle class pay for all these bad loans. It's not as simple as corporations bad. It can be summarized as a mass wealth redistribution scheme aimed at destroying the middle class. If you know anything about history you'll understand why this is important. The thriving middle class was the greatest bulwark against communism in the west. The communist scholars remarked that the large middle class of America meant that people were in general too happy to want to overturn the system. They theorized that a better angle of attack would be to agitate relations along racial and gender lines. So this crushing of the middle class, combined with a sustained program of race and gender division is a classic play for instigating a communist takeover. Not Lenin style communism, but the Xi Jinping style, where government and corporation form a sort of morally bankrupt dictatorial super structure above the common man. While Donald Trump wasn't perfect by any means, he was at least pro-freedom. He may indeed have just been a puppet to further polarize the left and right, but his popularity was an organic reaction to the foul race and gender politics of the left. So while the polarization is a problem, I would not go as far as to equate both sides. The left is the obvious agitator in this instance.

What you described in the "So what the hell happened" section is sadly not limited to just that one subreddit. The Halo subreddit is full of it too. As just one example recently 343i showed off many new armors coming in MCC Season 8 and to say the reaction has been mixed would be an understatement. The gist of the issue is that the new cosmetics look absolutely NOTHING like Halo whatsoever, they do not fit in the game at all. And that was 343i's intention, they said so themselves. The issue however is not that some people like the armor its that despite many fans wanting a toggle to turn off their own visibility of these new armors(there is a toggle currently in place where if enabled you only see the armor in the original version of the game and it turns any new content from MCC itself into default for you its currently an all or nothing thing though and if you liked previous new MCC content that does actually fit Halo's visual style you're screwed as its all or nothing) and 343i have said they have no intention of updating the toggle to have a separate toggle just for these new armors(which they deliberately made as un-Halo as possible). So fans were upset as a simple toggle addition to turn off visibility of just these new armors would be easy to do, just a slight addition to an already existing feature. An addition of the ability to turn off these new sets of armor and only those armors as to keep the other new MCC content visible(As some previous additions MCC have made DO look good and fit in with Halo's visual style like the new ODST armors) would be a positive for one side and neutral at best for the other. It doesn't take anything away from those that enjoy the new armor and would be there to make those that dislike it happy. Win-win. What happened then? /r/Halo had a fucking meltdown and called everyone who wanted such a feature "whiney" and "entitled" and that we should just be thankful to 343i for new content at all. Its insane. And its not just this too. Any of the bad news with Halo Infinite? Same shit too. No Elites? "Who cares no one played as them anyway right? lmao" No assassinations? "Who cares assassinations were dumb anyway" No ability to select your own primary and secondary colors? "Who cares about colors stop being entitled" No forge or co-op at launch? "Game dev is haaaard stop complaining! The game will be great with or without you" The sub will get angry or upset at bad news(as you probably should) only for it to eventually be drowned out by bootlickers who take any criticism of 343i as some kind of personal attack. Its maddening. "How DARE you criticize this company running a multimillion dollar franchise!"

I think the biggest problem is sadly there isn't enough gate keeping. I've seen too many communities get hijacked by people with a passing interest and run into the ground till the fad ends and its just a husk of its former self. i guess its just one of those things you cant really stop
I think it's heavily pitched to the public as some kind of higher morality, that they are the good side and then they invented their own bad guys, just like some fictional hollywood movie good vs evil. People are already conditioned by movies to believe in those concepts, it's in practically every movie. In the real world though you can never tell who's good or evil, even some tattoo biker guy could turn out to be a really nice person, a librarian could be a serial killer and so on. They are simple minded people who tend to believe in simple concepts.
From what I have seen, the woke left have serious issues separating fantasies from reality. Their frame of reference is always a movie, book or game from their favorite fiction franchise. They're adult children seeing the lens of everything through a childish veneer.

Way back in 2011 my uncle brought his ps3 over and showed me sr3 and i got to play a little. Absolutely loved it lol. So a week or two later my mom took me to gamestop and she couldn't afford the third so she got the second one for like 25 bucks idr lol. Ever since that day this has been my favorite franchise next to halo. After a year or 2 I got the third and still loved it. I couldn't find the first one anywhere and i didn't know anything about it so i just watched all the cutscenes to catch up. Then sr4 came out and i thought it was dumb how far they went away from the original formula but I still got it a week or two after launch. I still really liked it but it was a huge departure from the originals but still a great game in its own right. Just isnt really saints row. Then by 2015 or 16 my dad got me the first game for Christmas and i was absolutely addicted and then went back to the second game and just fell in love with the series all over again. I know I didn't play the originals back when they came out but I consider myself a diehard fan due to the fact that I've played the first 3 games more than any others. Do you think I'm a 'true' fan?

I've never really viewed gatekeeping as a bad thing. I always saw it as a means for fans to keep out people who don't actually care about an IP/hobby, but rather have malicious intent towards said IP/hobby.
The term gatekeeping is only used by those who actively wish to subvert whatever medium is being discussed. Its an observably true phenomenon that anything that gets too big or tries to pander to too wide an audience loses any meaningful identity as it stops taking creative risks so it is safe for all consumers. This is in any creative endeavor.
Bioshock 1 is another example of a game that was very political and had a strong leaning towards leftism but it was done so well that it was regarded as a masterpiece

Your timeline is a little wrong. In the 1990s both liberals and conservatives were against video games. It was Tipper Gore (Al Gore’s wife) who was apart of the outrage over Mortal Kombat. Liberals came to terms with video games in the 00s. Conservatives (mostly Xers, Millennials, Zoomers) have no problem with video games today.
Finally an intelligent take on the whole thing. Saints Row was always diverse, i have happily played as black, latina, asian female bosses in the series before, it was never an issue for me, it felt organic. The reboot on the other hand feels like ''woke tokenization'', which is to say, it doesnt feel organic. It feels like the self flagellating white male boomers at Volition are trying way too hard to appear ''relevant'' in 2021, by trying to appeal to people who have little to no interest in playing Saints Row whats so ever. The changes of FBS, Rim Jobs to Jim Robs, desexualizing female characters, but pushing a sexualized, shirtless pretty boy with an idealized body front and center, you'd have to be ignorant or acting in bad faith to not see the culturally regressive influences that Volition have adopted.
What scary about this is the fact this move the rich is doing isn't going to last and it will cause them to fall hard. We seen this happen many times in history, it's just the question of when and who will pull the trigger

3:18 issue is they're not Liberal. People get Progressivism and Liberalism mixed up. I'd even argue that the Left in General is inherently anti-Liberal at their very core because they're collectivist in nature, always adopting the Majority Principle, and saying the GROUP is more important than the Individual. Outside of Christian Conservatives of course who support the Right mostly because of protections provided by Religious Freedom the Right Defends, ie the Left says its' bad to say Merry Christmas and say you should say Happy Holidays, or Merry X-Mas, so of course Christians will support the Right regardless. There is a wonderful History Tuber named TIKhistory who would argue the Left has historically never been Liberal. HOWEVER, the left historically has had the near monopoly on defining what Right/Left Wing even are. So they've had the luxury of twisting people's views on what is Left and Right of the political spectrum. This is how you run into a scenario like what is in the USA in which you have Liberals on both sides of the political spectrum. Why American Libertarianism is even called by the "LEFT" as FAR RIGHT, which is ironic because just a century ago Libertarianism was historically considered a Leftist position. Why? Because American Libertarianism is against the Collectivist Populous movement that Left supports, so they convince people on the Left to stay away from Libertarianism they deem it as Far Right. Which is a common practice that dates back to the early 20th Century possibly even earlier. It's why you see Social Democrats fighting against Communist and the Social Democrats being called Far Right in 1919 in Germany by historians just because they were opposed to the Communist, despite both movements being Left Wing and Socialist, so rather than admitting it was a left wing socialist civil war, one had to be FAR RIGHT!? Because god for bid if the Left isn't United on Views. So it's a common strategy the left has used and gotten away with for generations. Because of this you have people who have no idea really what side of the political spectrum they really should belong to, and worse, are taught often idiotic and contradictory spectrums that make no sense. The fact theories like the Horse Shoe Theory was created to explain why the Soviet Union was so Similar to say Fascist Italy, yet are considered Polar Opposite ideologies by the Left. Which ignores the fundamental problem that the Fascist Party was founded by Anarcho-Syndicalist. Which ironically means the Fascist party was founded by people who are very comparable to the Idols in Saint Row 2022. This is why the Phrase Classic Liberalism and Modern Liberalism exist. Modern Liberalism isn't Liberalism, it's actually Social Democrats claiming to be Liberals as nearly all their policies are policies that were championed during the early 20th Century by Democratic Socialist which are a Democratic and Anti Revolutionary branch of Marxist Socialism. And all Socialism is by it's very Nature Anti-Liberal as they hold the Group above the Individual. Even the early generations of Socialist called Socialism to be the Polar Opposite of Individualism. Individualism is the CORE of Liberalism.

All of the companies producing woke trash have already lost hundreds of billions in profits compared to before they went woke. i was reading recently if the rumors are true. the Remaster GTA Trilogy that's supposedly coming out is gonna be Upgraded to " Modern " Times. that could mean anything but i think we know what it means.

The word woke does confuse me. I kinda wished it wasn't so over used in today's media to describe something. I searched up the definition and it made no sense compared to people using it like it was 2 different definitions. Woke is supposed to mean "become aware of or against discrimination" or something like that.
Basically, BLM popularised the word from older song lyrics a few years ago and twisted it to mean... whatever they want it to mean at the moment. The cannibalised songs originally used it to mean "socially aware", basically. The left tends to be rather inexact with the words they use. That's by design - makes it easy for them to hop around between the motte and the bailey, calling their opposition morally inferior or ignorant in the meantime.

I agree with most of this, although one partial counter-argument to the 'wokeness was a deliberate divide and conquer strategy', is the fact that a there has been a big increase in tribal attitudes in a bunch of non-western countries over the last decade too. India and quite a few african countries are having similar issues. Part of it just seems to be that social media drives ethnic tribalism.
This was said back in 2001 actually, MGS2 said that the internet allows for individuals to be in their own little circle jerking communities without actually engaging with the truth. Being in your little community makes it harder for the people there to understand other perspectives and cultures. When someone challenges your narrative, you attack them and humiliate them because your truth is the only truth. I doubt too that wokeness was an intentional thingy, how the media handled the 2008 shit pickle was intentional though, most wealthy people can change narrative by simply by talking to their friends in FOX and swing the attention away from them and their oligarchic whims.
I feel like you missed the point of a lot of people who supported the Saints Row reboot. You focused on it from this whole "woke" angle, but a lot of the people who supported the reboot largely didn't see the difference between it and the last two games. Their really wasn't that many people in SR3 or SR4 that looked "gangster". Hell, the girl at the beginning of the trailer has the same hairstyle and build as Kinzie. Shaundi and Gat where the only people who even looked gangster in it. Pierce looked like he was getting ready to do a photoshoot for example. The gangs in Saints Row 3 where stereotypical "suited" bad guys, luchadores, and cyberpunk goths. The villains shown in the trailer are arguably more gangster looking than anything the last two games have shown (aside from the SR1 and SR2 gangs that briefly showed up in SR4 with that whole weird time-traveling scenario.) Hell, the example you used showing off Freckle Bitches dosn't even really apply to SR3 and SR4, as the restaurant was mentioned only a handful of times. The only noticeable censorship was how "rimjobs" was changed to "jimrobs" (or something to that effect). While I get not seeing it is indeed your argument, I feel like you just don't really provide any solid, specific examples. While I agree with some of your points, such as people trying to potray gamers as something they're not, I feel you really only took one argument and didn't really attack anything else. You made a good few points against wokeness, however I feel like criticism on the game itself is very lacking. The only one that stood out to me is the developers disrespecting their fans.
The trailer is just really tame its just how people interpreted the aesthetics and how it looks out of place with the Saints Row brand. He does some good about the how the industry and video game players treat wokeness.

The reveal trailer of the reboot just looks really off. Of course, we cant really judge what the game is going to be like, only a trailer was showcased. Maybe the game is going to be great, who knows? Maybe it advances what was given to us in SR2 while modernizing the kind of outdated image of Saints Row.

What about the reboot says “woke”? The fact that they’re teens? You know you can not like or hate something without having to group it as “woke” right? It makes it seem like you’re just using the same generic term. I think it’s not that they’re “woke” it’s that they’re hipster twerps, and seem to be made for mass appeal to drive up numbers. That’s not anyone else’s fault but gamers who treat their entertainment like it’s important or has any kind of an impact on the real world.
That’s what happens when you wrap your identity into something that means nothing. We told companies that all that matters is money, trends, and validation, yet now that they’ve got what they wanted they’re mad because it doesn’t revolve around them. You’re not entitled to anything just because you’re a fan. We’ve got this weird mentality where if we consume something it makes it “ours”. So people whine and cry like babies when something isn’t made for them, gatekeep by trying to say “only WE are real gamers” even though they’re no different from the people they say that to. Buy it or don’t. In fact let’s not buy any new games for a couple of years. I know that’s not gonna happen because Americans are too weak willed, but it’s help.
Not to mention the same people claiming things are “woke” are the same guys who say, with ZERO irony, “Everyone is racist against me because I’m white” when they demonstrate who people don’t like their basic bitch personality. It’s also the same guys who say “I have no friends or a girlfriend and that’s everyone else’s fault because I’m owed a perfect 10 to take care of me”!
I know I’m the bad guy now for not losing my mind over some shitty game. Most games are shitty, because gamers will support these billion dollar industry no matter what, then claim that everyone else is “ruining gaming” while people throw money at Fornight, MOBA’s, Call of Duty, Last of Us, Sims, Pokémon, and whatever Esports game that people obsess over.

this whole situation betrays trust - something which there's not that much left of in our world these days. I can assume that there are far more people who have spent most of their lives being traumatized than those who have been surrounded by love and understanding.
In the absence of people who validate you and love you for who you are, you will need a way to escape the reality for at least a little bit in order not to start googling 'suicide 101'. One of such ways is videogames.
In this particular case, we had 2 games that allowed you:
a) customise your character (you can relate to him/her even more)
b) the game was called a GTA clone and turned out to be anything but (you relate to this because other people don't get you; too bad - there's much more to you than what first meets the eye)
c) the plot (it has tons of things you can relate to; sort of like Harry Potter books for kids, only with dark humour and human shields)
d) the details: names like Freckled Bitches, Rim Jobs or Nobody Loves Me show you that this game is not about conforming to the very rules of society you are trying to escape from; at least here you are free.
e) the devs say they love you (you are VALIDATED! Finally someone acknowledges what everyone else thinks of as unimportant! At this point, you still think that you've found your 'gang' and at least these guys care about you if noone else will in real life.
...and so on, and so forth.
You are emotionally engaged A LOT at this point. You CARE for the characters now. You see the company who created this game as someone who 'gets you'. You almost feel like you are starting to care for the developers too for giving you such masterpiece.
....until they take a huge shit on your trust, your joy, your loyalty etc. and become as abusive and toxic as pretty much everyone around you IRL.
Just brush it off as if nothing happened? Pardon me, not everyone is a robot with no emotions or feelings. Most of the backlash Volition received was the fans actually saying: "Why did you hurt our feelings? We trusted you!" and asking for their pain to be acknowledged. What does the company do? They say:"You are fine! You're not hurt - it's all in your head! Just snap out of it lol".
I'm not a psychologist, just a keen fan of psychology and this is my attempt to explain why this situation is so bad.

Here's the thing about occupy Wallstreet. They were blaming corporations, but a big reason for the collapse was that congress banned banks from redlining. Effectively forcing them to give out loans in areas with an alarmingly high default rate. Then congress bailed them out, making the middle class pay for all these bad loans. It's not as simple as corporations bad.
It can be summarized as a mass wealth redistribution scheme aimed at destroying the middle class. If you know anything about history you'll understand why this is important. The thriving middle class was the greatest bulwark against communism in the west. The communist scholars remarked that the large middle class of America meant that people were in general too happy to want to overturn the system. They theorized that a better angle of attack would be to agitate relations along racial and gender lines. So this crushing of the middle class, combined with a sustained program of race and gender division is a classic play for instigating a communist takeover. Not Lenin style communism, but the Xi Jinping style, where government and corporation form a sort of morally bankrupt dictatorial super structure above the common man.
While Donald Trump wasn't perfect by any means, he was at least pro-freedom. He may indeed have just been a puppet to further polarize the left and right, but his popularity was an organic reaction to the foul race and gender politics of the left. So while the polarization is a problem, I would not go as far as to equate both sides. The left is the obvious agitator in this instance.

What you described in the "So what the hell happened" section is sadly not limited to just that one subreddit. The Halo subreddit is full of it too.
As just one example recently 343i showed off many new armors coming in MCC Season 8 and to say the reaction has been mixed would be an understatement. The gist of the issue is that the new cosmetics look absolutely NOTHING like Halo whatsoever, they do not fit in the game at all. And that was 343i's intention, they said so themselves. The issue however is not that some people like the armor its that despite many fans wanting a toggle to turn off their own visibility of these new armors(there is a toggle currently in place where if enabled you only see the armor in the original version of the game and it turns any new content from MCC itself into default for you its currently an all or nothing thing though and if you liked previous new MCC content that does actually fit Halo's visual style you're screwed as its all or nothing) and 343i have said they have no intention of updating the toggle to have a separate toggle just for these new armors(which they deliberately made as un-Halo as possible). So fans were upset as a simple toggle addition to turn off visibility of just these new armors would be easy to do, just a slight addition to an already existing feature. An addition of the ability to turn off these new sets of armor and only those armors as to keep the other new MCC content visible(As some previous additions MCC have made DO look good and fit in with Halo's visual style like the new ODST armors) would be a positive for one side and neutral at best for the other. It doesn't take anything away from those that enjoy the new armor and would be there to make those that dislike it happy. Win-win. What happened then? /r/Halo had a fucking meltdown and called everyone who wanted such a feature "whiney" and "entitled" and that we should just be thankful to 343i for new content at all. Its insane. And its not just this too. Any of the bad news with Halo Infinite? Same shit too. No Elites? "Who cares no one played as them anyway right? lmao" No assassinations? "Who cares assassinations were dumb anyway" No ability to select your own primary and secondary colors? "Who cares about colors stop being entitled" No forge or co-op at launch? "Game dev is haaaard stop complaining! The game will be great with or without you" The sub will get angry or upset at bad news(as you probably should) only for it to eventually be drowned out by bootlickers who take any criticism of 343i as some kind of personal attack.
Its maddening. "How DARE you criticize this company running a multimillion dollar franchise!"

I think the biggest problem is sadly there isn't enough gate keeping. I've seen too many communities get hijacked by people with a passing interest and run into the ground till the fad ends and its just a husk of its former self. i guess its just one of those things you cant really stop
I think it's heavily pitched to the public as some kind of higher morality, that they are the good side and then they invented their own bad guys, just like some fictional hollywood movie good vs evil. People are already conditioned by movies to believe in those concepts, it's in practically every movie. In the real world though you can never tell who's good or evil, even some tattoo biker guy could turn out to be a really nice person, a librarian could be a serial killer and so on. They are simple minded people who tend to believe in simple concepts.
From what I have seen, the woke left have serious issues separating fantasies from reality. Their frame of reference is always a movie, book or game from their favorite fiction franchise. They're adult children seeing the lens of everything through a childish veneer.

Way back in 2011 my uncle brought his ps3 over and showed me sr3 and i got to play a little. Absolutely loved it lol. So a week or two later my mom took me to gamestop and she couldn't afford the third so she got the second one for like 25 bucks idr lol. Ever since that day this has been my favorite franchise next to halo. After a year or 2 I got the third and still loved it. I couldn't find the first one anywhere and i didn't know anything about it so i just watched all the cutscenes to catch up. Then sr4 came out and i thought it was dumb how far they went away from the original formula but I still got it a week or two after launch. I still really liked it but it was a huge departure from the originals but still a great game in its own right. Just isnt really saints row. Then by 2015 or 16 my dad got me the first game for Christmas and i was absolutely addicted and then went back to the second game and just fell in love with the series all over again.
I know I didn't play the originals back when they came out but I consider myself a diehard fan due to the fact that I've played the first 3 games more than any others.

This is how you run into a scenario like what is in the USA in which you have Liberals on both sides of the political spectrum. Why American Libertarianism is even called by the "LEFT" as FAR RIGHT, which is ironic because just a century ago Libertarianism was historically considered a Leftist position. Why? Because American Libertarianism is against the Collectivist Populous movement that Left supports, so they convince people on the Left to stay away from Libertarianism they deem it as Far Right. Which is a common practice that dates back to the early 20th Century possibly even earlier. It's why you see Social Democrats fighting against Communist and the Social Democrats being called Far Right in 1919 in Germany by historians just because they were opposed to the Communist, despite both movements being Left Wing and Socialist, so rather than admitting it was a left wing socialist civil war, one had to be FAR RIGHT!? Because god for bid if the Left isn't United on Views. So it's a common strategy the left has used and gotten away with for generations.
Because of this you have people who have no idea really what side of the political spectrum they really should belong to, and worse, are taught often idiotic and contradictory spectrums that make no sense. The fact theories like the Horse Shoe Theory was created to explain why the Soviet Union was so Similar to say Fascist Italy, yet are considered Polar Opposite ideologies by the Left. Which ignores the fundamental problem that the Fascist Party was founded by Anarcho-Syndicalist. Which ironically means the Fascist party was founded by people who are very comparable to the Idols in Saint Row 2022.
This is why the Phrase Classic Liberalism and Modern Liberalism exist. Modern Liberalism isn't Liberalism, it's actually Social Democrats claiming to be Liberals as nearly all their policies are policies that were championed during the early 20th Century by Democratic Socialist which are a Democratic and Anti Revolutionary branch of Marxist Socialism. The word woke does confuse me. I kinda wished it wasn't so over used in today's media to describe something. I searched up the definition and it made no sense compared to people using it like it was 2 different definitions. Woke is supposed to mean "become aware of or against discrimination" or something like that.
Basically, BLM popularised the word from older song lyrics a few years ago and twisted it to mean... whatever they want it to mean at the moment. The cannibalised songs originally used it to mean "socially aware", basically.
The left tends to be rather inexact with the words they use. That's by design - makes it easy for them to hop around between the motte and the bailey, calling their opposition morally inferior or ignorant in the meantime.

I think the title of "Worlds largest Lunatic Asylum" should go to Twitter more so than Reddit, but yeah, the Gamingcirclejerk subreddit is one of the most abysmal and insufferable places on that site.
Also adding r/mendrawingwomen as the 2nd worse place. Because its run by femcels and psychopaths who seethe when someone draws a scantly clad woman in a M rated video game.
I agree with most of this, although one partial counter-argument to the 'wokeness was a deliberate divide and conquer strategy', is the fact that a there has been a big increase in tribal attitudes in a bunch of non-western countries over the last decade too. India and quite a few african countries are having similar issues. Part of it just seems to be that social media drives ethnic tribalism.
This was said back in 2001 actually, MGS2 said that the internet allows for individuals to be in their own little circle jerking communities without actually engaging with the truth. Being in your little community makes it harder for the people there to understand other perspectives and cultures. When someone challenges your narrative, you attack them and humiliate them because your truth is the only truth. I doubt too that wokeness was an intentional thingy, how the media handled the 2008 shit pickle was intentional though, most wealthy people can change narrative by simply by talking to their friends in FOX and swing the attention away from them and their oligarchic whims.
I feel like you missed the point of a lot of people who supported the Saints Row reboot. You focused on it from this whole "woke" angle, but a lot of the people who supported the reboot largely didn't see the difference between it and the last two games. Their really wasn't that many people in SR3 or SR4 that looked "gangster". Hell, the girl at the beginning of the trailer has the same hairstyle and build as Kinzie. Shaundi and Gat where the only people who even looked gangster in it. Pierce looked like he was getting ready to do a photoshoot for example. The gangs in Saints Row 3 where stereotypical "suited" bad guys, luchadores, and cyberpunk goths. The villains shown in the trailer are arguably more gangster looking than anything the last two games have shown (aside from the SR1 and SR2 gangs that briefly showed up in SR4 with that whole weird time-traveling scenario.) Hell, the example you used showing off Freckle Bitches dosn't even really apply to SR3 and SR4, as the restaurant was mentioned only a handful of times. The only noticeable censorship was how "rimjobs" was changed to "jimrobs" (or something to that effect). While I get not seeing it is indeed your argument, I feel like you just don't really provide any solid, specific examples. While I agree with some of your points, such as people trying to potray gamers as something they're not, I feel you really only took one argument and didn't really attack anything else.
You made a good few points against wokeness, however I feel like criticism on the game itself is very lacking. The only one that stood out to me is the developers disrespecting their fans.
The trailer is just really tame its just how people interpreted the aesthetics and how it looks out of place with the Saints Row brand. He does some good about the how the industry and video game players treat wokeness.
@@brandonmorel2658 Yeah but SR3 looked out of place with the Saints Row brand at the time. He did make some interesting points on how players treat wokeness, even if I disagree with some of his points. But I just feel their is a lot more nuance to this than he really covered in this video.
@@rakhoon8596 Yeah, I suppose SR3 did look a little out of place with what came before it, but SR3 was still an evolution of what was presented in SR2. The reveal trailer of the reboot just looks really off. Of course, we cant really judge what the game is going to be like, only a trailer was showcased. Maybe the game is going to be great, who knows? Maybe it advances what was given to us in SR2 while modernizing the kind of outdated image of Saints Row.
Spot on ! Wokeness made things less enjoyable and much more dry, it's ruining games and series with its forced politics on nowadays time. It sucks that journalists/SJWs being minor part of the media demanding more with out of touch stuff like unlikeable characters/forced naratives/censored content that just makes you feel guilty/turn off the game unsatisfied yet they don't even care about it and developers still have the tendency to taking notes from them instead of listening to true/hardcore fans that has been defending/support them throughtout the years that would have improve them to be more. This is truly the darkest time for gamers that many developers still doubling down the rabbit hole to shot their own company to its knees just to join alongside Battlefield V/The Last of Us 2/Wolfenstein Youngblood route that ends up losing fans, having their sales dropped, negative reactions being a high praised game from so called "professional critics"
The Saints Row Reboot managed to make Saints Row 4 a masterpiece by comparison
