    Hi, its been 2 years since you fitted the Macan brakes. I'd keen to know how they went for you. Thanks.

    Any chance you guys could list parts used in the video description with part #'s? This is obviously a pretty popular thing for Golf R's, but hunting the parts down to ensure they're correct is a nightmare. Thanks.

      Porsche Macan 2.0
      Left caliper: 95B615124F
      Right caliper: 95B615123F
      Pads: 95B698151H
      Caliper bolt: N91147601
      The Audi Q5 3.0 has the exact same calipers as far as I know. Those numbers are below.
      Audi Q5 3.0
      Left caliper: 8R0615107E
      Right caliper: 8R0615108E
      Pads: 8R0698151L
      Caliper bolt: N91147601
      Golf R VI 345mm disc: 1K0615301MKT
      I assume that's the "Golf" disc he's talking about. That's as much as I could find, hope it helps :)

      The pads will make the ultimate difference in this set up if your running a stage 1, 2 or 3 setup. 4 pot macans, the rs3 4 pots from 8p, or even the Aston Martin 4pots are similar but you can run the stock oem brake disc but get yourself a good set of pads and also hel or goodrich braided lines

      Same. Finally found some used on ebay for under $200 for both shipped! Going to rebuild them, and have them powdercoated red to match the stock PP GTI brakes! Excited for these on track days and autocross with super easy pad swaps!

    How did it work out? Did you turn off the brake booster assists as mentioned in the posts? If you use some red rubber grease on the piston seals and put some 2 PSI RPV's inline with the front brakes you will be much happier with pedal response and feel, it also helps with pad knock. The stock brakes are way over boosted to begin with and without these adjustments it is even worse with these calipers.
    I also made custom cross over tubes so I could mount them with the correct orientation, for heavy track use I also recommend doing that as well. With these adjustments it is a very nice low cost brake upgrade.
    I have never tried those EBC yellows, seem to be a lot of mixed reviews.

    • @leonsaliba9668
      @leonsaliba9668 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback - I had read that turning the boost assist off was useful. The pads I'm using are the Pagid RSL29 for track and the Brembo OE for street use (which have both been great). I'm also running the DBA Green performance pads on the rear.

    Why did you choose the 4 piston caliper over any of the 6 piston Porsche calipers?

    • @leonsaliba9668
      @leonsaliba9668 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Only because the 4 piston bolt straight on. There may be a 6 piston option that fit directly but we weren’t aware of any. also cost, the 4 piston are relatively cheap and they fit underneath the 18” wheels.

    How come your old calipers didn't have the original Golf R black paint + logo? Just curious what came off the car as well as what went on it. Interesting tid bit of information, though! Glad it works. Doing this to mine. Edit: Another question, why did you need a scantool to disengage the emergency brake? Why not just hit the button in the cabin to disable it?
