I'd like to stress that it was 48 degrees, it's a giveaway bike, and this was the first and only session I got. The streety has a very high potential. If you want to see me actually taking this track at pace, watch in the video where I included a clip of me on my Daytona. Click here to win the Triple! yammienoob.co
No longer a bikeless bro, finally got done wrenching on a vintage harley chopper and got my first couple of stalls in the saddle today. Love this channel for pumpin out motorcycle content that just makes a guy wanna get in on all the fun. Also ok boomer.
Be nice if it had the quick shifter like 2020 version but then you lose the TFT dash... wish it had both without going to the RS higher price . Also why no lean sensitivity in ABS and Traction control? My SMCR actually has both but crap dash .
Have tracked my Street Triple 765 R (*much* slower than you did here, lol) and can confirm, tank grips will probably help both with street and track riding 👍 I haven't gotten my own tank grips yet but know exactly what you're describing. Love the bike though, especially that power in the low rpm's 😃
I have a '15 STR. I take it to canyon roads for spirited riding pretty often. The engine and frame are stupendous but for sporty riding the bars are a bit too high. Overall, if you ignore the awkward body ergo, the fork geometry feels about right. The bike is nimble and changing directions is almost effortless. If I tracked my bike or went to the canyons more often I would highly consider switching to speed triple handle bars and aftermarket rearsets.
I know it must be sacrilege that I want to raise the bars and bring forward the pegs a bit to make this a better urban street fighter :P I'm jealous of that weather honestly, training to be a daily commute rider in the north has meant a lot of riding in cold rain
Might be that matte finish paint, i had 675 Street and quickly put stomp grip on it. Nimble as hell on track, maybe rides a bit tallish for a shorter rider like myself.
I've got a Street Triple R and the only thing I'd say is an after market quick shifter is an absolute necessity, especially if you're gonna do track days.
Yo, Yammie.. I know you don't think that the track videos are important or get as many views, however it does fit a niche for some people, like myself, whom are interested in getting into track days. Whether you realize it or not you do provide pertinent information. I believe the reason the views are down on track videos is because there's only a certain percentage of people that actually ride on a track vs. the street. Please continue track day videos or else make a special segment for track days. In fact, please make more of them.. Thanks in advance Yammy Pubes!
Imagine winning this bike and not being to ride it due to lockdown. However, I WILL say Street Triples are AMAZING!! Test rode one a few years ago. Utterly spot on.
You and put some lower bars, add a screen and make it more track friendly. Here in Europe a lot of poeple install windshields in naked bakes for highway commute.
On a technical track this isn't really much slower than an older Daytona 675. The engine has a lot more torque (which makes up for the lack of aero). You can also really lean on the (Sport setting) traction control (which the Daytona doesn't have), up until fast group pace (for fastest it wouldn't work / be too conservative). The brakes are absolutely amazing and the upright ergo's really help in the braking zone. Having a quickshifter on it really helps and agree it needs grips - more so than a sports bike. Also, it's just as fast as the RS in practice - if there's a difference, it'd take a fastest group rider to uncover and then you're talking tenths around a reasonable length track.
Stop bitchin and start shiftin... LOL thanks for the video. With those conditions it would take you five to seven circuits to put the heat in those tires
Ysmmie you have literally inspired me to go into the motorcycle world and inspired me to create content of my own, i hope your channel grows and full support from us baby yams!
nice vid! your a hero keeping up with that weather condition. But here is the "track prepped" mention again. What did you do to get it "tracked prepped"?
Yam, if you had lowsided the bike would you have repaired the damage and given it away or would you have kept the bike for yourself and gotten a new one?
I'm a harley bro through and through (started on a sportster I still have, and currently ride a dyna fat bob) but I'm honestly thinking about switching over to this bike. its tempting to get some speed and maybe a track day
Daddy yam, is you rs taichi worth the price? Is it recommendable as my first suit? My first motorcycle gear overall? How does it compare to Dainese? Should I get Dainese instead?
Yeah the ergos aren't great for the track but it's not a track bike. It's meant for twisty roads and then grabbing some lunch or a coffee afterwards. It's 80% sport bike, but just streetable to be used every day. Love my 16 STR
Sir u ride the as real as moto rider .. I love this bike very much . I wish I could buy this bike ..... but it's not affordable to me .. but still it will be my dream bike😊
Full exhaust and suspension adjustment. On mine today I just changed the comp and tension shifting more from street to sporty. Big difference that corner feel that’s part of the problem he’s having. It felt like back suspension was to springy for the street comfort.
Great vid. The bike is awesome . Thought ya did a good job on a cold track with the wind factored in. As for bars the, The Rizoma 7/8" (22mm) street bar is a great. Swap the stock bars on my 17' SV. Little wider more of a natural wrist position ergo sweep and weigh in at just over a pound being aluminum. Easier to do the throttle screwdriver handle technique on track and with just a little more width ya get more leverage.
What bike do you think would be better to get. Yamaha R6, Suzuki GSX-R 600, or Honda CBR600RR. I would love the input, Thx. Seriously considering all options
Probably want to go sit on them all and see which one feels best to you. And is it track only? All i ever hear is the R6 is the best track bike evaaaah! But absolute trash for putzing around town. Sooo basically figure out what you want to do with it and figure out whats comfortable to your body. Don’t just go by numbers.
Why only consider sportsbikes? I rode a Honda 600. I hate narrow handlebars. The normal street triple beats the Daytona on Motorrad (German magazine) handling parcours. The Aprilia tuono, in some test you'll find, is only a tiny bit slower than the race one, but on average faster because it handles easier. Also I've Seen them coming down the mountain road. Their wrists hurt. Hands on legs
Yes it is... it’s my first bike probably never gonna change, tried many others, he wins all the time except the ducati new streetfighter, but thats an other planet, STR is a superbe streetfighter.
Yamster how you gonna play the STR like that. We know you gotta put out vids but you should have waited on this one........this is why Triumph hasn't picked you up yet 🤣
Now if only they could figure out why these bikes randomly cut out or die, I may jump ship from the bulletproof reliability of my made in Japan FZ-07. Until then, I’ll enjoy the equal torque, cheaper components, thousands of $ saved and less top end horsepower.
@@yammienoob I really wanna see you ride this bike as fast as your Daytona maybe even faster. Will the ergo hinder you from going even faster than your Daytona given the chance? Maybe one day we will find out haha

What is your name ?
Try out a R15 or MT15 (yes,they do exist)pls pls pls 😅
How did you comment a week ago when the vid was posted today? What kinda magic you up to out there?
I'm actually on time to see the videos as soon as it is posted! Love the content
I just bought a 2009 triumph street triple R a couple weeks ago. I'm now learning to pop some nooners! Dankest bike ever.

Always love track content. Sucks the weather was bad, wouldn't mind you going round 2 on the street Triple
The more I see the street triple the more I'm loving triumph bikes!
Take care of yourself Daddy Yams. Thanks for the content.. Still waiting for the global shut down to be over.
Same. I miss being on track so bad...
@@yammienoob we can't or don't dare go around and ride here unless it's really important.. Like going out for more supplies. 😞

I got the same leathers, good to see more people wearing rs-taichi. Bit rare to see here.

Picked up a street triple R 765 a couple of weeks ago but can't ride it because of the lockdown in the UK. But wow what a bike
What year is this bike? Would a 675R street triple be just as good for less money? What race track are you on?

How do you find that annoying wire in front of the screen? Ive sat on a few and they all have the same problem.

Taping the lights is a no no with these 😂 the heat breathes threw them and can and will crack. Mine did
Don't see the point in taping them when you can remove them so easy.
