    Holy crap. I've been in Subie world for about 6 months now with my 2013 WRB STi, and I always heard almost everyone talking about installing a AP in their STi. Now I that I know how it works, I understand! I want one!

    Oh yeah, Si drive actually now works as a "boost" selector in a sense. Factory Si drive only controls throttle position vs pedal movement. With AP's it allows different load cells to be accessed to hit different torque demand values. Hitting the higher TQ demand values allows you to hit higher boost levels sooner.

    • @samboesenberg
      @samboesenberg 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can. it flashes new tables to ECU in the car but when you are running any tune you really should monitor things like fuel pressure, fuel trims etc for at least a while before you toss it to the side!

  • @rallysportdirect
    @rallysportdirect  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can put the tune on, and leave the AccessPORT at home. It will only need to be plugged in when changing the tune.

    Get a clingo reusable sticky pad. Mine is so sticky that it ripped off the Serial Number sticker off the back of my V2. I bought the clingo neklit for like $8 from Europe, 3m taped the back of it, and now I can remove my AP, re-stick, adjust and it keeps it there like a champ. Even in 100* summer weather it didnt budge.

  • @rallysportdirect
    @rallysportdirect  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No. The AccessPORT can only be used on one car at a time. Even if you un-married it from the 2003, the hardware is different from the 08-13 STI AccessPORT.

    Can you confirm that when this new AP V3 installs initially, it takes the EXACT info from your ECU? Did The V2 only put a "generic" stock map into your ECU, hence some people who had problems with warranty work?
    Also how many parameters are you able to display? Very interested but on the ropes due to my car still under warranty. Thanks in advanced! Excellent video!

    Seems COBB is synonymous with STI/WRX, it's like it's the chosen brand for self-tune. How reliable are these AP systems compared to say a Dyno-Tuned car? Are there any other AP systems as good as COBB? Seems u can tune the car that's all stock for whatever gas you use. I have a ralliart and use Premium gas, which is 93 octane, will it show any significant improvements or just bare minimum ones?

    I have a 2015 fiesta st, thinking about purchasing the stage 1 package. Is it okay to run stage 1 in real time instead of permanent? I dont know too much about cars and tuning, but I figure logically thinking (correct me if im wrong) that in some way it'd be healthier for the engine to run stage 1 only when im on the track or if I feel up for some spirited driving.

      Oscar_Scoob 2.5.....Did you purchase the car new or used? The access port saves your car’s factory ECU settings prior to downloading any maps (at least with stock ecu settings). Surprised it wouldn’t save current map loaded onto your ecu. There are quite a few OTS maps pre-downloaded onto the V3. With the mods you have, should be easy to find OTS map that matches.

      They can see that you've flashed the ECU, so it will probably void the warranty as these are settings that are not officially supported.

    So warranty concern question. If I buy the accessport and have a Brand new 14 WRX and i throw this on there and have an issue unrelated to my change in map when i return it to factory will the subaru dealer be able to tell that I have changed the map or will they not know as long as i return it back to stock? Worried as I got a 100K 10year bumper to bumper warranty and although Id love to have it but not sure its worth it if they will be able to argue that the Access port was to blame. Thanks for the help

    I have a question regarding the accessport ap3 I just purchased for my focus st. I just recently had a muffler and resonator delete on the car and now it's throwing a "lean" code. A lot of guys had this problem and with it being the rear o2 sensor. The rest of the car is completely stock for now. I was just wondering if the accessport can permanently get rid of this code or just shut the o2 sensor off? Now with that being said will I have any issue of passing emissions at all? Thank you for your time

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Accessport can turn off the rear O2 sensor without a problem, however in regards to passing emissions I would not be able to speak on that as technically it will turn the code off, but some tests will check for these type of things so it's not a guarantee.
      Thanks,

    • @rallysportdirect
      @rallysportdirect  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh man, yeah, you can install it in your driveway/garage in less time than it would take to drive to the shop lol. It honestly takes about 10 minutes to install and is super super easy. Here is how you do it(assuming your car is 100% stock)
      Take AP(Accessport) out of the box.
      Take OBD2 plug out of the box(it will be the one with the rather large connector on one end, and USB on the other)
      Find OBD2 plug on the car, it will be just below and to the left of the steering wheel, basically just above your knees.
      Plug in OBD2 plug, then plug in USB side to the Accessport.
      Turn off the headlights, radio, dome lights... basically anything that will drain the battery
      Turn the key to the "on" position, or if you have push button start, push the button without pushing the clutch in.
      Follow the on screen instructions -
      it will have you confirm your car, and then have you choose a "map" (this will be the tune for the car)
      Assuming your car is stock, you will choose stage 1, and either 91 or 93 octane (depends on what fuel you have access to. If you don't know, just choose 91 to be safe. You can easily change it later)
      Let the Accessport do its thing(don't be messing with stuff, opening/closing doors, turning on or off anything etc.., just leave everything alone until it tells you what to do).. it will back up your stock map, and then load the new map onto the car. once done it will have you turn the car off for like 15 seconds, and then you can start the car. Do note, the first time you start the car, it will crank for like 3-4 seconds before it actually starts and this is 100% normal.
      All this takes less than 10 minutes on the Subaru. Seriously, buy it, install it yourself, and enjoy your bump in power :) Now if you do have a bunch of mods on the car, you *might* need a custom tune, in which case, give us a call and we can guide you on what to do.
      Thanks,
      Rick

    So I am planning on purchasing the COBB Catback Exhaust, COBB SF Intake + Air Box, COBB Downpipe for my 02 WRX 4EAT. I Was wondering if I purchase this product, after installing those parts, how do I know which map and stuff I need to use and what stage? I fill up with 91 octane.
    Thanks ahead of time

      Why 91 and not 93? If he puts 93 in his tank shouldn't he use the Stage 2 93?

    Is there a stage 1 map for 93 octane? I've been getting that for my car. Do i have to get 91 octane after i flash stage 1?

    If you have a custom tune map on the V2 Access Port, do you just need to use AP Manager to transfer to the V3 Access Port?

    Why doesn't mine come with adjustments tab under tune?

  • @GriffXJ

    Does this need to remain plugged in for the tunes to stay transferred over, as with some units, or can the AccessPORT flash the tune data and then be unplugged?

    why not just make a cobb app we can just buy from you guys? all we'd have to buy is a cord to connect other than the app to purchase?

    Could I use this to get information on how the car is running? I don't need a tune, nothing is done to the car, I'd rather leave the tune the way it is, and use the AP for information only. For now.

      +Pr3lude9 Yes, but I imagine you could do it cheaper with a proper OBD scanner. Now if you were wanting to use it for tuning in the future it would be totally worth it, but just for data, it would be an expensive data tool.
      Thanks,
      Rick

      +RallySport Direct Thanks for the quick response, Rick.
      I would use it for tuning in the future. Knowing what I know now, the only thing holding me back would be if the V4 came out. I emailed Cobb and asked if they had any plans on releasing a V4 anytime this year, and am waiting for a response. Who knows if they will give me a direct answer.
