This particular performance shows how good of a guitar player Ace was at his peak. I hear some fans talk about how much better Bruce Kulick is or Vinnie Vincent or Tommy Thayer. I could care less how one guitarist might have better skills. Ace’s style was crucial to the band’s overall sound.
@@stevewilley1367 I agree. Ace may have influenced more guitarists than even Clapton or Page. Most of the heavy metal & hard rock guitarists after KISS were influenced heavily.

Their first concerts!! And then all Three of us went the third time. Each time was an exciting, great show.
I've heard a lot of KISS bootlegs in my day, unreleased concerts, live stuff, all that... but I got to say, this one... this show... there is something special about this performance... this one in particular, while it may not be the most technically or sonically perfect by any means, it is hands down one of the best I've heard from this band; they're in great form.
T'is how I felt about the Dodger Stadium show, Halloween 1998. They were trailblazers, but some nights they were so on, you knew you were seeing something very special.
Hard to believe this was 1976!! I was a kid then, and instantly became a KISS fan after KISS Alive was released ('75). For the rock fans of that day, their music was straight up rock and roll, and it moved you. But KISS took it to a whole other level with their stage show. For those who wanted the best, you got the best! Back then, no one brought more show that KISS. They certainly were the hottest band in the world!
HolySh*t Black Diamond was on Fire!! Im so sad that Peter & Ace fell off the wagon, They just had the right formula. No band could match these guys live.
Yep this is the concert that made me decide to transition to a female Puerto Rican stripper. I remember the precise moment actually. Paul Stanley from 7:36 to 7:51
Wow... Been a long time since I watched these guys like this. Man, they were 100% the entire show - they gave it everything and left it all on the stage. They really set the bar.
I was into it....until late '78...I saw that "Kiss meets the phantom" movie...heard Paul's sissy speaking voice...thinking "my favorite member is gay AF"...then bought Ace's solo album...loved it... even went to see them in '79...but was losing interest...was getting into the Sex Pistols and Ramones...but when they came around in '96 with the reunion tour...them and the Sex Pistols were playing the same night in Los Angeles...but I went to see Kiss !!!
One of the most amazing things about their shows was the fact they could jump around in those high platform shoes without breaking an ankle or falling down. Its a small detail but just look at their shoes...how the heel are they jumping around on those things?
I googled different types of Kiss stages and I came across an article that described the maker of the Destroyer tour stage . Very interesting and here I am👍🏼👍🏼 love it!
Sadly, it was common back then to point the camera at whomever was jumping around the most instead of who was doing the most instrumentally. John Entwistle rarely got filmed either.
More like “lazy Gene.” He single handedly ruins this version of Detroit Rock City. I’ve always doubted that Gene wrote that bass line, and maybe didn’t record it. Doesn’t sound like Gene ‘75.

Back in the 70s where it was okay to eff up on the stage a couple of times. It was okay as long as the performance was energetic, loud and exciting. IMO rock should not be about perfection, museums or millions of dollars. It should be fun and exciting, a celebration of life🤘🏻
Man I hope some more Pro-Shot show's on KISS surface one day (Uncut, Unedited, Complete Performance) as us older kiss fans are all getting older. They said KISSOLOGY 4 was done and KISS has been saying it was gonna be available since 2009 after the other 3 KISSOLOGY's!!! This was amazing, and thank you for sharing it! I only wish they would have filmed more of Peter, but I'm glad we could see him at the end. KISS rules!
Ace is the best guitarist KISS ever had!!!
@@stevewilley1367 I agree. Ace may have influenced more guitarists than even Clapton or Page. Most of the heavy metal & hard rock guitarists after KISS were influenced heavily.
@@rubberman7665 Ace influenced millions of kids to pick up the guitar. I cant think of anyone else who can say that. I accidently set my first acoustic guitar on fire with smoke bombs when I was 10....hahahaha
ACK! actually he is a plumber
Page sucks compared to Ace. Never liked Page’s guitar solos. Stairway was his best.
I saw them the first time in 1976 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, OK.
Drove from Wyoming with two buddies,
they were incredible to see, it’s hard to describe how amazing that was.
Super heroes, Gladiators, and Rock n Roll gods all rolled into one . The mighty KISS !!
I was there, 15, and soaking it all in. They were like nothing else and still are!
I saw them in 77 n 78 you could not have seen better shows mock KISS all you want they always gave you your money's worth for a show
I was there too! Wasn't it amazing?
Like them or hate them, no one can deny the energy these guys brought to the stage back then.
First concert I ever saw was Kiss on the Destroyer tour. I was 16 and it was in Louisville. I had to have an electric guitar for Christmas that year!
Thanks for posting this. They were at the top of their game here and through 1977. Ace's solo here is awesome!!
I was at this show, damn I'm getting old! Awesome show!
No lip synching and just going thru the motions. They were exciting to see back then and I loved it.
I'm posting this everywhere!! This is quite possibly the best channel for vintage rock and kiss shows on TH-cam! Fucking great job guys!
BEYOND AWESOME....KISS at their finest, 1975-1977. Destroyer tour was so badass.
I was lucky to see them in Sydney 1980. My ears are still ringing 😊
Great show, one of the best of that era
Say what you want about KISS -- they were absolute trailblazers. Ive been a fan since 1975 to this very day.
They stole their makeup idea from the New York Dolls and Alice Cooper. That said, they took it more of an extreme
I've been a fan since 1975 too, and you're 100 percent right!
@@gregbors8364so it was more an inspiration than stealing because stealing would mean copying
@@RandomKissFan0815The CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWNE did it 1st with FIRE.
After watching this . I wished I had a time machine to go back in time and see KISS live in concert ❤❤
Right? Cause I only saw then in the late 80's on the Lick it up tour or album. Just not as good.
この時期が最高のライブでしたわ!いつ観てもカッコいいなぁ!
Wow!! it's amazing how after 47 years they keep playing the same songs in their shows and we keep going to their concerts ( me included ). They are such a great show band, and I will never get tired of listening to them, they were one my first rock n roll LPs along with Maiden and ACDC, and I will never get tired of their music!
Great Show!

No 'I Love To Lick It Up Out Loud All Nite"?
Kiss... They knew how to get everyone up on their feet and keep pumping the excitement. The ShowMen!! Thanks to my youngest Sister and Brother I saw them three times... I took them to a show each...
AMEN! This is the shit!
🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
T'is how I felt about the Dodger Stadium show, Halloween 1998. They were trailblazers, but some nights they were so on, you knew you were seeing something very special.
@@bengaltiger96 Right on brother!
Absolutely the best era of KISS... back when they were an actual live band... truly at the top of their game right here...
HolySh*t Black Diamond was on Fire!! Im so sad that Peter & Ace fell off the wagon, They just had the right formula. No band could match these guys live.
Of all the live clips on here on TH-cam Black Diamond usually is one of their best songs that the original lineup could deliver.
I have to agree they put on a show like no other.
Yep this is the concert that made me decide to transition to a female Puerto Rican stripper. I remember the precise moment actually. Paul Stanley from 7:36 to 7:51
NO band matches them now either.
One of the best Kiss' videos and live audio performances ever seen in my whole life! Be blessed for this gift!
They are kicking ass that energy is translating
Wow... Been a long time since I watched these guys like this. Man, they were 100% the entire show - they gave it everything and left it all on the stage. They really set the bar.
They helped create the modern rock and roll show, way over the top, superb spectacle back in the day
i was 11 when my pops took me to see em for their reunion tour in 97 and it was like a time machine. I don't think i'll ever see a better concert.
If Kiss waa really gonna go out on top, theyd have had to have done it after this tour. This era without a doubt has their finest hours
Disagree. Go forward 2 yrs. Love Gun was one of their best albums hence the Love Gun/Alive II tour.
@@Phil-pq4ks Lost the hunger by then. Too Hollywood
No
@@hockeyeverything4339
No! They were still hungry. Just a full belly is all. Goober.😂
Glad to know I’m not the only one who thinks about this!
Dr. Scholls. 😂
Or running down the stairs at the beginning of the show while playing guitar/bass
Genes Bass sounds like a chainsaw , so raw. Freaking love it!!!!!
Right on...He's always had a good tone...He's a great bass player as well...
You must be confusing a bass for Ace’s guitar which drives every song
@@chipchiperson679 ACE is KISS 😎🤟
yeah but hes playing his own songs wrong
Bass style influenced by none other than Paul McCartney. Gene said it and not me.
I googled different types of Kiss stages and I came across an article that described the maker of the Destroyer tour stage . Very interesting and here I am👍🏼👍🏼 love it!
Would have been nice to have seen a little more of Ace. He's the most interesting guy on the stage.
You want a refund ?
@@TateGg-ji5lf ?????
@@TateGg-ji5lf😅😅😅
Sadly, it was common back then to point the camera at whomever was jumping around the most instead of who was doing the most instrumentally. John Entwistle rarely got filmed either.
Lots of intressting notes from ”jazzy Gene” during the first song😊
Indeed
Hack
More like “lazy Gene.” He single handedly ruins this version of Detroit Rock City. I’ve always doubted that Gene wrote that bass line, and maybe didn’t record it. Doesn’t sound like Gene ‘75.
End of the road, bass line sound just like the record. Because it is the record
I didn't know Gene was so spry 😅❤
Powerful rock and roll show! the energy .
Kiss was on fire 🔥 I was 6 years old when they played this show 😮amazing that they still play in 2023 been a fan 4LIFE 😂The Hottest band in the world 🌎 KISSSSS!!!🎸🤘
Im 50.cant believe i wasnt even 4 years old when these guys were tearing it up here
This is definitely a blast from the past I saw kiss once and this was the year I saw them in 1976 such an amazing show so much energy. Yeah, this is one hell of a way to start off my concert viewing. This is my first concert and it’ll probably go down in history as like my top-five that I’ve ever seen.
God bless kiss for all the many years of music that they have come up with and through all the hardship and BS that they’ve been through. God bless them!!!!
Their music at this time was absolutely top tier.❤ I loved 80s Kiss but this era truly kicked balls
Man you can feel their excitement and still to this day
BEST LIVE VERSION of Let ME Go Rock n Roll!!
Bass like a FREIGHT TRAIN!!
*ACE KILLING IT!!!*
I miss this kiss
If you love rock n roll, how can you not love this?? Omg they killed it in the 70’s.Pure adrenaline!!
OMG I was at this Houston show! First concert for me and my buddy. We were 16. Thank you so much for posting this. TH-cam is a wonder. I've seen a hundred concerts since then, but I often think of my first KISS and what an amazing thing it was. The Houston Summit had large screens at each end of the venue, which was a technical marvel at the time. This was the live feed from that show. I've often wondered if it and other rock concert footage from the Summit was saved, who may have it, and if there was sound attached to it. Thanks again. Wow!
You were at THIS SHOW, holy fuck, to see KISS in 1974-1979 would have been fucking amazing!!! They were my 1st concert at 8 Years Old but I didnt see them until CRAZY NIGHTS Tour with ANTHRAX (Among The Living Tour) on March.11.1988 in Vancouver BC Canada. I would have LOVED to see KISS in 1970s
Did you catch that sour note at 3:20 and the turn around look by Ace at Paul? They just rolled with it. I saw them 3 times in the 70's and it was a SHOW!
This is when they were at their best in the late 70’s no question. Having seen them in every decade I still wish I was going tonight or tomorrow at msg.
Video edited by Paul and Gene lol. That look Ace gives Paul during Detroit solo when they hit a bum note... priceless

Ace at his prime was untouchable, none other than the best.
Oh, please. Ace is an average guitarist. The best musician in KISS, but that's not saying much.
In about 1978 this was all the kids around me were into. First interest in music. They came to St Louis and a school mate was lucky enough to have his mom take him at 8 years old. Still jealous to this day that I didn’t get to see them then.
Gosh it gets no better than KISS!! I was born in Long Island in 1965 and not long after they were a household name in my native NY and 4 decades later in my beloved PDX, Or! They are still the best!
nice in their peek, strong and so much energy, thanks, great show,i could have went to this tour but was only 7 or 8 years old at the time.
When KISS was a “real band”! 🤟
Thayer and Singer will never be this cool. Paul Stanley needs to have his memory refreshed. The current line up is a sanitized and polished joke. There's only one Space Ace and Peter "Catman" Criss !
Amen 🙏 to that brother!!!!
@@kevinchandler179 Too bad neither Ace or Peter took their success seriously. Their immaturity destroyed the best thing that ever happened to them. Both have great talent. I'm very lucky to have seen them back in the late 70's and again in 2019, just before the pandemic. I have COPD and that show at the Barclay's put me in the hospital from smoke inhalation. I was 8th row and you couldn't see the stage from all the pyros. But I'd do it all over again if they were to tour again . In a heartbeat.
100 % Agreed ! The Devil got into Gene and Paul's brain's!! Twisted the Truth!!
Yes thats so true
You know it dude
Some things shouldn't last forever. This is how I like to remember them!!!
My very first concert, 1978 I believe it was the Meadowlands, Alive 2.. I was a changed kid from then on, KISS army forever. My mom, rest her soul scalped a ticket and went to the show too, I was there with my friends.. she was a hoot.
They are still good live. 😊
my first concert was kiss, with rush opening in san antonio texas...... still remember it like it was yesterday...... although rush took over my "favorite" spot that night, I've remained a fan since.....
I was at this concert! Houston in the Summit! Those were the days!❤
This was the brief period when Paul had that little patch of blonde in his hair! I remember seeing having some pictures of this. When I was a kid, at the height of my KISS fandom, circa '81-'82, I had everything KISS and I one day decided to cut up all my KISS magazine stuff and fit all the pictures between all my posters so every inch of my bedroom, except for a big part of the ceiling, was covered with KISS! Man, I can't imagine what those magazines would be worth today. Anyway, this is so cool to see, thanks for the upload!
KISS rocked in 1976.......KISS ROCKS in 2023!!!! 🤘😎🤘🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
So tight!!! This band was on fucking fire from 74-78. Just on 🔥🔥🔥
This song playlist punched you in the face. KISS was like come ready to rock! I have watched so many videos of the "last" tour that I forgot how much energy they had in the 70s.
My 3rd concert, thanks Dad! That was an epic summer--I think I recall Bob Seger opening up.
Saw Bullet Bob open for Destroyer tour also...Aug 5th, 1976. Indy.

The best years kiss was awesome back then! There were never the same after the 78 solo records
I just went back in time to see KISS 💋!!
Back in the 70s where it was okay to eff up on the stage a couple of times. It was okay as long as the performance was energetic, loud and exciting. IMO rock should not be about perfection, museums or millions of dollars. It should be fun and exciting, a celebration of life🤘🏻
