Thanks for all the great feedback and positive comments, everyone! For those wondering how a buddy wouldn't know that his friend is a pilot is purely due to the fact that I never told him or anyone else in my circle of friends that I was going out and taking lessons. It was very hard not to crack and tell anyone what I was doing. 3 big factors played into my motivation to get my license: 1. lifetime goal, 2. take my family on trips, 3. and this right here. The one time chance I could pull something like this off! His reaction and faith in our friendship made this all worth it. Even if I never fly again, this was worth the 6 months training. And no amount of money could ever buy this must trust or faith in another person to have their life in another's hands. *Disclaimer* I was fully prepared to abort the takeoff and/or safely shut everything down the moment he were to get uncomfortable or needed to get out of the plane. For the safety of ourselves, others in the area, and the aircraft, I would have never pushed the prank that far if it were to come that.
The craziest thing about this video is that it has nothing to do with a plane. This pilot is one of the luckiest men on Earth to have a friend that believes in him completely. True friendship.

I don’t think this is the best advice to give. Don’t get me wrong in other circumstances it’s good to see. But in an aircraft where someone’s unexperienced can cause harm or death, I feel it’s best to protect yourself.

It is a scam, planes don't have that many buttons and switches. They only have this stick with like 6 or 7 small buttons, the up down left right button, and this long cable. You can even pause it if you want to take a piss or order pizza.

Laughter is not a reaction to something that is funny. It is a self-calming reaction to something unexpected or something you don't know how to handle yet.
The fact that he laughed through it all and didn't freak out is testament to that statement. I don't know anyone in my life who I wouldn't freak out at if I thought they didn't know how to pilot.
I try not to do that when I walk into a room lol. I was committed to this reveal so in the end it was worth it. But it was hard having conversations with people about travel and stuff. Couldn't throw out the idea or option of flying anyone anywhere. Certain people knew, but they also knew not to tell Zach.
I came here to say the same thing. As a pilot myself (see what I did there), we view it as practically a FAR regulation that we must inform everyone we are a pilot within 15 minutes of meeting said person ;)

Notice the pilots face when Zack says, "Your so talented man, we can do anything." Those words hit him like a ton of bricks. The deep breath says it all. It would have done the same for me as well. Probably would have brought a tear or two down my face. Life is short and friends come and go throughout it. Then there are those elusive best friends which will ride with you for a lifetime and they are the rarest gem of them all. This was a pleasure to watch and a great way to start the day. Appreciate the ones you have in your life as we are only here for such a short period of time.
Most all of my childhood/HS friends have moved on and we havent talked in a decade or longer. But my best friend and i had a shared experience of moving to a new state around the same time. Were busy with family life, so sometimes we go months without seeing each other. But no matter how long its been , when we see other again its like we never were apart. We both know that we will be there at the drop of a hat if we need to. She is my sister in every way that counts and im blessed to have her in my life.
Every second has this awesome naïve feeling to it. It is so pronounced that I couldn't stop thinking about it through out the whole video. On the other hand, he was also too scared to tell him not to take off considering, you know, he wasn't a pilot to him. That's a potentially poor lapse in judgement, hence his fright the whole time.

I’m 32, I’ve decided I want a change with my career as I’ve been an accountant for 11 years. I’m always blown away by the professionalism in the aviation industry and would like to be a part of it somehow. Any tips for me?
@@ryanbesco8067 There's more to being in the aviation industry than being a pilot. There's a lot of ground support that goes into it, and it comes with the same demand for professionalism and relentless vigilance.
My dad did this to me somewhere around 1998. I will never forget it! He’s been flying since the 70’s but quit after I was born. We were big airport bums from a small town in Iowa. We worked there and even lived in a side room off of the terminal for a while that was used for pilots that needed a overnight stay. It was no longer in use so we made it our home while as he was raising me. Without me knowing, he got his license back up to date. I got out of high school one day and he said to me “let’s go check out this plane.” It was sitting on the ramp, fueled and ready to go. He told me to hop in and act like we are going to fly the thing. Just so happened the key was under the seat. He said “well it won’t hurt to start it and taxi around for a bit.” Next thing I know we are on the runway and he calls for departure. The look on my face was priceless. I kept waiting for someone to come running out to stop us 😂 We did a few T&G’s before he finally told me he had been planning this for a few months. One of the best days of my life! Love it!

Notice the pilots face when Zack says, "Your so talented man, we can do anything." Those words hit him like a ton of bricks. The deep breath says it all. It would have done the same for me as well. Probably would have brought a tear or two down my face. Life is short and friends come and go throughout it. Then there are those elusive best friends which will ride with you for a lifetime and they are the rarest gem of them all. This was a pleasure to watch and a great way to start the day. Appreciate the ones you have in your life as we are only here for such a short period of time.
Most all of my childhood/HS friends have moved on and we havent talked in a decade or longer. But my best friend and i had a shared experience of moving to a new state around the same time. Were busy with family life, so sometimes we go months without seeing each other. But no matter how long its been , when we see other again its like we never were apart. We both know that we will be there at the drop of a hat if we need to. She is my sister in every way that counts and im blessed to have her in my life.

My dad did this to me somewhere around 1998. I will never forget it! He’s been flying since the 70’s but quit after I was born. We were big airport bums from a small town in Iowa. We worked there and even lived in a side room off of the terminal for a while that was used for pilots that needed a overnight stay. It was no longer in use so we made it our home while as he was raising me.
Without me knowing, he got his license back up to date. I got out of high school one day and he said to me “let’s go check out this plane.” It was sitting on the ramp, fueled and ready to go. He told me to hop in and act like we are going to fly the thing. Just so happened the key was under the seat. He said “well it won’t hurt to start it and taxi around for a bit.” Next thing I know we are on the runway and he calls for departure. The look on my face was priceless. I kept waiting for someone to come running out to stop us 😂 We did a few T&G’s before he finally told me he had been planning this for a few months. One of the best days of my life! Love it!
