@bobbybuildsit I've found it better to use a drilling block that clamps to the work for big boards, a drill press when it's convenient, or a doweling jig for 2x4s, 4x4's, etc. I'll even use the doweling jig to make a jig out of a 2x4 chunk when I want consistent spacing on cosmetic stuff. The ones you're talking about just end up making your drill more cumbersome most of the time
I got one of those spring loaded punches and they work fantastic.
@@rayansandysteward7474 I've thought about those as well. Thank you for watching.
Try using better drillbits and hold the machine straight, that'll help
Those bits are pretty bad. Thanks for watching.
Maybe... Only maybe... You could also use an actual wood bit... You know... Like the ones with the pointed tip and flat cutting surface...
@marcojeromeschulz2860 you mean brad points, sure I could. I did this instead.
Using the right bit might help too.
It'll still walk if you do that next to hard grain lines. Better to use a drilling jig, as inconvenient as they can be sometimes
I'd like one of those that essentially turns the drill into a portable drill press. Not sure which one though.

Tap your Palm on the back of the drill stamping the bit into it and you do the same thing with one tool.
Appreciate the suggestion. Thank you.
I just use wood bits
I do just need to go ahead and get some brad points. Thank you for watching.
Pay attention to the wood grain, the bit follows the grain curvature
Thank you.
If you spin up the bit before you start you won't walk (depending on the material tho)
Appreciate the tip. Thank you for watching.
Yep
Thank you for watching.
That's awlright, the tool for awl things holy!
@tummytub1161 I'm here for awl the puns.
