Save money or make profits. Beat the big box store.
Episode 1 of Beat the Big Box where we look to see if we can build something for a better price than being sold. This time one very rustic and one with a bit more work.

I tried watching 3 other videos for this saw and this was the only one that made sense to me. Great job with the specific details and explanations. Thanks for helping me set up my first table saw!
Thank you for watching, Always glad to hear the video is helpful.
Thanks for helping me set mine new Skil table saw up. Lots of details. 👍
Thank you for watching. I'm glad it helped.
Wrong
How do you mean? A demonstration of what can happen with improper use is the purpose of this video.
Hi, do you have an update on how the bed held up since building? 😃
I must say one of the posts rotted badly and the screws came out. The cedar held up great as expected.
@@bobbybuildsit thank you for responding !!
Is this router tips?? Could some give him some camera advice?
Sure thing!
Is he sawing with the sawzall???
Sure seems that way. I really don't know what that motion was all about. It sure has gotten noticed though.
skill saw ftw.
You mean break it down with a circular saw instead of the recip? No reason not to since the nails were well out of the way.
@@bobbybuildsit it works much quicker for me.
Too bad the board is warped.
Yep. Plan with those pieces is to laminate two pieces after I cut team to matching size. Then mill again including using the planer and should be good to go.
who taught you how to use a reciprocating saw? couldn't take the rest of the video seriously after seeing the saw skills.
Using the machine like a saw to saw while the machine is sawing adds like one extra saw (sarcasm)
Absolutely nobody.
That was weird. I don't exactly know why I did that.
Back in the day sometimes it was mahogany ♥️
Imagine just having piles of that laying around!
Thank you Sir!!!
Thank you for watching!
The metal ones work really well
Getting your glow for the day 😂
You got that right. I'm surprised all the metal in the shop wasn't glowing. It was 104 degrees when I opened up the shop.
@@bobbybuildsit Ewwwwwww 104 no thank you. Hope you have AC
They are messy a planet is a whole other dimension
I really need to go ahead and get the adapter to make my vacuum hose fit.
Unfortunately not
If a pocket holes jig is on your list, definitely look around at brands other than Kreg. Tons out there at various price points.
Not every cut comes out perfectly the important part is you showed real life and people can learn and or understand it isn’t always perfect right outa the gate good video Bobby!
Thanks for watching. You are right on. That is why I leave mistakes in and show fixes when I can think of them.
Left to right with a palm router? But not on a table? Why is that the case? I'm really bad with a router all advice is appreciated, thank you.
Since the bit is pointing up on the table it is spinning the opposite direction than if hand held. The wood is pulled toward the fence when moving right to left on the table. Left to right pushes it away. The feather board pushed it back into the bit, causing the wood to shoot out.
@bobbybuildsit Thanks man Do you have any videos on how to be better with a router? Ordered this same router and table can't wait for delivery
I have a review of the table but that is all right now. th-cam.com/video/C-Wtyayi7AE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FpPf5z0GVyukKPqG
@@bobbybuildsit Hell yeah I'll check that out
Happy birthday Odin!
They work great to clean up canning jars that have been stored in a barn.
Never thought of that!
Use it on a grill that has been used more than once
This is a fair statement. I think that grate had only been used once or twice. The brush removed less of that black stuff on a more frequently used grate. Still better then a sponge though.
5gal bucket and pvc pipe
Will cut down on some sweeping for sure. I do prefer running the shopvac with it.
@bobbybuildsit One day for now 10$ fixes
Those will get you outa some sticky situations
I like it better than having to always have a rag around to clean my finger.
Thought about using my Betty crocker one lol Gonna have to get one for glue 👍🏼
I have one that is flatter and better suited for the job. Problem is it is a hide-and-seek champion.
@@bobbybuildsit Hide and seek champion 😂
I love that cat so much! Happy birthday buddy!
He's the best!
Perfect music
Lionel Richie just wouldn't do this time.
Very good walk through.
Thank you!
i really like that look with the router lines. Fantastic job. I like it just like it is. I am definitely going to make some for my yard. i am going to put bird seeds and/or peanuts for the squirrels. thanks for sharing. keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching. I put some bird see in mine as well.
Those multitools can do about anything short of a blowjob.
Mercy!
The one where the operator doesn't scratch the side of the block....
The few seconds saved are not worth the extra sanding that would be needed on a real project , that's for sure.
Both have usefulness.
Absolutely. I've never actually attempted a flush cut with the multi-tool on a project. The marring was pretty significant on this one quick cut.
@@bobbybuildsit I really havent found a purpose for the multitool that the specific tool wasnt 4times better. The only thing Ive seen the multi tool half ass perform in is cutting electrical box holes, and a jab saw is infinitely better. hell an exacto is still better.
I've found I use mine way more for demolition than anything. I do use the sanding head for some stuff in actual woodworking.
@@AaronFrederick843 It's a great jack of all trades tool. It will do about anything, but isn't the best at anything either. We find ourselves using a multi material blade to undercut door jambs. The flush cut would do better, unless you hit a nail.
Wow❤
Hell yeah
Dir is geen eekhoorn wezel 😂
Nice video
Thank you very much.
Go tigers
Go Tigers!
Not sure what my comment was but I got a nasty gram
A nasty gram from TH-cam? I also didn't see the comment that did that. Sorry that happened.
@@bobbybuildsit Apparently yt thought I was cyberbullying you. strange
Very odd, for sure. I got no notification that YT thought I was being bullied. Maybe just some glitch?
Good job Bobby! You're a natural at this!
Thank you so much for watching and the kind words! Truly appreciated.
One dollar, Bob!
If it wears off after just one full project, I may riot.
The answer to your question is of course 7
The answer is indeed always 7, I'll be a bit sad if that printing is all gone by then though! I'm sure there was some better process for printing that, but I don't know it.
Why did I watch this?
Because you are a fine, upstanding individual.
Ha 😂
Always stand to the left of the table blade when rip cutting. If you have a kick back standing directly behind the saw, you have no chance. enjoy good luck
You are correct. I looked back and certainly did a terrible job of that. Thanks for watching!
I wonder how that bear is doing these days
Will probably be back around any day now.
Does it have a V6? Also, where's the master bedroom?
Sadly, I think it is only available in a straight-four. Master bedroom can be wherever you hang your hat.
I guess so you can bake and grill all in one unit? Instead of cooking it in the oven in the house
For sure, it just seems a bit gimmicky to me.
Maybe your good griefin could bring down the price
I think Nexgrill should send me one to prove me wrong.
What
What is the same thing I thought. I didn't look to see how it is supposed to work. I can't see myself needing that feature. Probably just right for someone though.
10/10
Thanks! Stick around to see if any peaches grow this year. It will be a surprise to me as I think this tree is a year away.
For anyone wondering why the edge to edge didn't line up, it's because bobby adjusted the fence on the wrong board, to correct this, only adjust the fence with the board that has the dowel in place, that way, you can be sure that the dowel jig is centered. Afterwards, put both your boards together, use your jig towards the new board and line up the dowel in board 1 to fit in the edge of the doweljig and you should be centered on your new board.
Thanks for watching and helping to clear that up.
What’s the product called?
The round part is just called a surface cleaner. Several different kinds. I've only used that particular one.
