Fk Hard Mode. 1. Orion and his Vulpix. I had to use a Gyarados and PP stall since he was neutral vs flamethrower and energy ball. 2. Xavier and his Gengar gave me way more trouble than his Mega Beedrill. 3. East - Fk his Galewings Talonflame. 4. Delta Crustle actually gave me the hardest time. 5. Anastasia is one of the hardest gyms actually, but Swagplay Klefki is aids and banned from smogon for a reason. 6. Diana was easy. 7. Calreath was really easy. 8. The last gym leader was fucking me up with his Mega Hydreigon. Really fun game though.
What is it with me and trampling through an early gym leader that most people find difficult? Mega Beedrill was outsped by my Starmie and quickly taken down with Hydro Pump. Similar scenarios have happened with Whitney and Lenora.
on my first run the second gym was utterly insurmountable because the mega beedrill kept sweeping my team to the point where i had to switch to easy mode because i was tired of grinding and grinding (my team might have been terrible...) on my second run that i did as refresher to the story because itd been a few years since i played up to the end of the update i was on, i literally just had my claydol set up cosmic power against his shuckle and i kinda just... won.. pretty much sums up a lot of battles until part of the way through the game where it was replaced by my delta crustle cake using shell smash once and then anything it didnt sweep pretty much gave up on life due to AI idiocy

So far, my gym leader record is this: Orion took me one try, still was kinda hard. Xavier took me two, didn't do any prep for the first one and got really lucky with Butterfree's Silver Wind rng. I think East took me 5 or 6, but most of them were resets cause I really wanted to prevent stealth rock from Skarmory. When I got that, it went pretty smoothly. Harmony took me abt 10, her Crustle and Azumarill were a nightmare. Anastasia took me two. Fairly easy. Diana has been by far the easiest one. Took me one attempt without planning nor taking her seriously Calreath was quite the nightmare, definitely wasn't ready for that one. Still beat him first try Adam was... interesting. Not a hard battle, but that Greninja hits so hard
Doing a recolored randomizer, and out of all things this game makes me appreciate, it HAS to be a ducklett. Cuz for somewhat reason, water pulse, water sport, feather dance, and air slash carry me
This game is so hard at the beginning. You have pretty limited options in terms of team members, meanwhile, I have to take down a Life Orb solar power Charmeleon and a Tentacruel that doesn't get one shot and fires back with mirror coat ;( The easiest gym leader is probably either Anastasia or Calreath, (correct me if I'm wrong, haven't played in a while) and Ana was still a difficult one for me.
The best thing about fanprojects, mods and hacks is that we all know the metagame is too soft, so we spice things up in the best way possible *with pain*
Catching a Durant in the hidden area was the best choice I could ever make - Orions Ivysaur (which was the only one I had no chance against first try) and Xavier where stomped by this beast!
How my gym battles were: Orion: soft reset machine (bad) Xavier: ez East: ok Harmony: good Anastatia: decent Diana: ugh.. (ok) Calreath: kinda bad Adam: REKT orion made me want to die
Really? All I did was make sure my Delta Charmeleon lasted longer than Vulpix's Drought and before I knew it, his whole team went down. Only Larvesta bothered me, but it lost to my backup Staryu. Most of the moves known by Orion's team are resisted by a Ghost/Dragon combination so I didn't actually find him challenging overall.
I'm honestly confused where this theme played first. With Cereb I heard it there first, but in Insurgence I feel like the song has been there longer. Then again I heard from certain sources that the theme came from another game. Not sure which game it came from.

Beedrill.
It outsped and oneshot my entire team almost every time.
Only way I actually beat this loser was taking an item off my Rotom, getting INCREDIBLY lucky with hax on shuckle with Charge Beam and get an Ominous Wind stat boost more than once before he sent that bee out. I was lv. 39
@Vexel harmonia I used delta gardevoir lmao
It took me several attempts but after grinding a fair bit and getting better moves on my crawdaunt I was able to beat Xavier. Note the main issue was the Heracross because BRICK BREAK HITS SO DAMN HARD ON MY DARK TYPES.

Also I was sad I couldn't play this sooner, but now that I have I am excited. Especially since I love the idea of a dark story in a Pokemon game, as you know Game Freak wouldn't try that.

I’m currently nuzlocking Insurgence, I’m gonna die
So far, my gym leader record is this:
Orion took me one try, still was kinda hard.
Took me one attempt without planning nor taking her seriously
Calreath was quite the nightmare, definitely wasn't ready for that one. Still beat him first try
Adam was... interesting. Not a hard battle, but that Greninja hits so hard
