Literally today I was playing as Germany, having fun in Russia(well, not funny at all, as they bombed my logistics to ground by accident) then they just took almost all their forces out of border and died... So, AI could kill me like Poland but just wished to die

For the next games I'd recommend instead of turning non-historical ai on, that you into game settings and change every country's focus tree path to random - from my experience actually makes the ai do different things instead of having one ahistorical path they always take

And was super important too in the other civil war/revolution/revolutionary civil war 26 years before the game

2. The reason that happened is because in order to coordinate the ai with ahistorical focuses, there's a flag attached to the ai which makes them follow a certain path. This flag gets "randomly" selected at the start of the game and doesn't ever change, which means for example with Germany here the ai wants to become bundesrepublik, so it refuses to do the Kaiser part of the focus tree until it has no other choice.

I swear to god this recent patch to the game made alt-hist Germany go democratic 80% of the time. Also seems like the Brits go 'No more appeasement' more often too. Both of these combined turned my recent Imperial Russia game into a death war with a super-Allies that nearly killed my computer.

Hey, ISP, when you play as xibei San ma and The other warlords, i REALLY recommend chant of the forgotten, you can make ottoman sinkiang in it, or make sinkiang into The Russian empire, it is quite fun honestly

Honestly speaking, I feel like Mexico still has best focus tree out of any nations in HOI4, just because how many alternatives it offers while still keeping it simple.

my favorite part of playing Mexico is avoiding the civil wars, and invading the US by the end of 1937, though to be fair, I usually support the General instead of imprison him

Not sure its a bug so much that it is the fact Germany has only 2 chaices: historical *or* civil war

I like the ahistorical AI games, especially with the minor nations. Keeps things interesting, and you can't plan a strategy around dates and events you know will happen ahead of time. Historical is only better for some of the nations actually involved in WW2.
The Mexican focus tree is probably my favourite in HOI4

ISP you should look into iron man compatible mods, they work the best with the new update until the real mods are updated. Better UI, improved country and puppet names, improved country coat of arms and the Trollge world tension are a few mods I’ve been using to make the game bearable

Grunting 'Fhreedum' while eating a sandwich is maybe the most American thing Isorrowproductions has ever done.
A Mexican Katyusha would actually be a taco truck with a mega-burrito launcher on top. The explosions would come from the enemy eating the launched burritos, then spontaneously combusting from excessive capsaicin intake.

For anyone interested, an easy way to avoid all three civil wars, you either need to arrest or support Cadillo for the first one (Support is great if you wanna not be democratic and get a good general). I recommend going for either Atheist or Weak Church then not being communist and doing Repeal the Calles law rather than enforcing it. If you go communist you will deal with the Second Cristero War (or you enforce the Calle law), and if you stay away from catholic curch you can avoid Second Mexican Revolution.
