Installing HYBRID FLOORING in our FORD TRANSIT VAN

Welcome back to our van build series! Today we're installing Hybrid Panels into our Van for the Flooring - we chose the Floor Select 100% Waterproof Hybrid Panels from Bunnings Australia.

Orbital Sander with 80 grit & 120 grit sand paper

If you watched our subfloor installation video, you'd know we have already:
- Stripped the van empty and gave it a deep clean.
- Insulated underneath the subfloor.
- Built a sturdy subfloor to prepare for the flooring.
In this video, we take you through each step of the hybrid flooring installation:
1. Sanding the Subfloor: We started by sanding down the subfloor to ensure a 100% level surface.
2. Waterproofing: We applied two layers of waterproof paint to protect the floor from moisture.
3.Choosing Flooring Panels: We made a trip to Bunnings to pick out our favourite hybrid flooring panels.
4. Cutting and Connecting Panels: Back at the van, we connected each panel, leaving a 10mm gap from all edges and using a rubber mallet to secure them.
5. Custom Cuts: We used a Stanley knife and jigsaw to cut the panels to fit around the curves and shapes of the van.
6. Tackling the Step Area: Jess cut bronze coloured metal trims to fit perfectly around the step area.
7.Final Touches: We finished by sanding the back of the van with 120 grit paper for a smooth, curved finish.
The total cost for this transformation was UNDER $300!! ($298) and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Our van is starting to feel like a real home!
(We also had zero panels left at the completion of the floor! so 3 boxes was the PERFECT FIT for our Ford Transit van Floor + door step)
