Issue is most store owners don't' care and try to rush the process or appeal to your insecurities. U can't just take one plank home, put it down and decide that is the colour you want. It takes time to do the research and videos like this help a lot.

We took home 15 samples that we liked. It easily narrowed down to 4. We moved them to different areas of the house all though the day into evening. We had them next to our furniture and narrowed to our favorite 2. The final choice was based finish. The favorites in the showroom seemed to be the ones weeded out first.

Hi. I am trying to find a new floor color. I am stuck with kitchen cabinets that are in the orangey color (fake maple looking) downstairs and cherrywood looking cabinets in the bathroom. I saw your color wheel. If I want a continuous color throughout and I am dealing with orangey colors, does that mean that I should not be trying to match the tone, but go across the color wheel and try something with a blue undertone? Thanks

      Hi Jennifer,
      Great question!
Neutralizing with the opposite color only works when you are mixing them together.
For example, warm lighting on a gray floor-will make the floor look less gray.
In your case, if you are putting the opposite colors next to each other, it will actually highlight their difference. So your cabinets will end up looking more Orange- which is what you are trying to avoid.
      Instead,
I would choose something that still has some warm tones in it or you could go for a more true brown color like walnut.

Thanks for this! I've been trying to find a laminate with enough pink undertones to go with new gorgeous red birch cabinets. Can you tell me what you used for your sample in the video, or do you know a product that you would recommend?

      Hi Kathryn,
The sample I was holding is a Gemcore Luxury vinyl and has more of a yellow undertone.
I'd love to help you find a floor that fits your space better.
Please give our showroom a call and I can assist you from there.

Hi, I'm looking to replace dining area & kitchen. Dining area only has 2 windows & kitchen has 1 but not much natural light from kitchen window. Windows are facing west, so we get the heat of the day & I use solar shades for the dining area. Kitchen cabinets have a lot of red tones & counter tops has beige, brown & taupe shades. What would be best color to consider. I was looking for a light shade of gray with a little brown. Thanks.

Ah thanks for watching the video!
      From the info you provided,
I would go for taupe because it is a combination of both brown and gray.
It seems like you have dimmer lighting from your kitchen as well as light being blocked in your dining area, so I suggest going for a warmer taupe to combat this. This will also allow some continuation with the other warm colors in your space.
Feel free to give our office a call and I can send you some options to look at.

Great!!! What do you think of the undertones in Provenza Oak Ram and Road Trip?
I have windows facing north & east only

    • @ClarisseRobles
      @ClarisseRobles ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Des,
Road trip has more of a yellow undertone while Provenza Oak Ram will have orange-red. Make sure to still take a swatch home so you can see how it looks along with the whole space:)

The colors should also look more subdued under the cool lighting throughout the day but also bring in a bit of warmth during the morning from your east facing windows.
