This is just the type of information most people moving to a country need to see. The apartments available and the cost of the apartments. If you continue to show apartments for all budgets, I am sure you will greatly increase your membership. It does not matter if your hands are not steady, a lot of retirees move abroad and they understand as their mobility is not completely steady either. In fact, I did not notice it until you mentioned it and I still don't really notice. We can clearly see the apartments and everything we need to see and you are giving the information in a concise manner. Great job. Look forward to more.
I'm a real fan of high-rises, especially in Panama City. I had lived for over six months in an apartment I had leased in the El Cangrejo area. It was nice enough, but I didn't anticipate it would be my permanent place. Now, returning after a couple of years intent of getting my pensionado visa, I'm already booked into an apartment on Balboa in the $1200/mo. range. It has a great city view from the 35th floor. I'll be there within the next 2 weeks, and can hardly wait. I'm sure I'll be there for a while, and I love it as a place to work from. I'm not a fan of pools; I've found we can save without them.
@@AbroadAbilityOn a different note real quick.. I appreciate your transparency about the "Tale of Two Cities" reference. I had never heard that prostitution was legal there. 🤯 No judgement, just shocked that I didn't know this. Thanks again for your stellar content! I always learn something new.
Hi! Panamanian here, I don't live in any of these fancy buildings though. I just wanted to add some context on the gas inspections. The whole problem is that you have to pay for these gas inspections, each individual appartment owner has to pay for these inspections so its like a total for the building, the whole issue starts when some of these owners refuse to pay so then it becomes weeks or months. It's even worse when they find a gas leak because until it's fixed, you won't get your gas back. It's a huge problem all over the city, it's been happening for years, electric stoves are a good idea if you live in these fancy areas as the power only goes out like once a year, everywhere else you won't get that much luck
I'm glad you mentioned how isolated you can become living on Avenida Balboa during protests. Friends of mine could barely leave their apartment last Fall and only by car. Also, downside is that walking is so difficult in this area of Calidonia and so far from supermarkets and other shopping. Upside is cheaper electrical rates.
I wish all TH-cam bloggers that do foreign retirement blogs made apartment videos like yours. Excellent points especially on walkability and disability access. Well done. Thank you.
Thanks for the details on the noise and the weekend band practises! First time I've heard this and would definitely not want to be surprised by it after booking a 12 month rental. I've been researching for one year and noticing rental prices are increasing.
@@judithvilla6026 I am a light sleeper and literally would knock on all the walls when I was looking for an apartment to see if it was solid or dry wall. Most people do not mention how noisy this strip can be. Most get used to it but not everyone does. People need to be aware of pros and cons (even though they can be subjective).
Beautifully done! I love the way you get straight to the point! And thank you for covering all the bases. I notice that the windows have no screens. Can you leave your windows open for air, or are insects a problem?
Another great video! I was glad to see you point out the negatives of the noise from parades and protests. This building has great amenities but the noise maybe too much for some. They cant say you didn't warn them.
Hola, brother! Yes, people need to be aware of the noise for each building. No point in picking a neighborhood if you are going to move in a few months due to the noise.
Please let people know units have different owners. We had an awful owner, a mold problem and the top kitchen cabinets fell in floor on top of granite countertops. The cabinets were not real wood and literally gave way from the wall. What kind of owners you get is pretty much a crap shoot. We moved to a different building and luckily this time we have a good owner.
Wow! Rents have certainly increased since I lived in P. City back in 2006-08. For a 3-bed, 2-bath I was paying $700 and down on Ave. Balboa rents were about $1000 for a 3 bed, 2-bath. Despite having the FNV in Panama, I think I'll move instead to Thailand where you can rent beachfront condos for $150 a month.
Great Video, and I love all the neighborhood details that you give. All other Vloggers that tour housing units should take note! Do you know how old the building is? The units look nice, but I personally think that they are Way Too Expensive!!

Another great video. Thanks for the great information regarding this building and this part of town. Does this building and have dual paned windows to help with the noise? I’m curious to know if people move after living in this building for one year due to the noise. 😁
