A lot of phones don't have 3.5mm these days so I guess only the cord for a camera is needed. The sound quality is a lot better, even taking into account TH-cam compression. $289 better? Maybe, but it is defintely a lot crisper, a better top end reesponse and sounds like quite an even frequency response. I think this will make a more consistent recording quality for your audio. Given the connector is a 3.5mm, with the right adaptor, you could probably use a proper hand held microphone with the transmitter also for interview situations. They look quite versatile. A great review and demonstration .
I'll definitely switch to the lapels as I found the units are really sensitive to all bumps. I'm still nailing the gain settings for the mics.. as I keep worrying that it's too quiet and end up clipping at times.
Thanks for the video. Is there any small play in the clipper of the transmitter from left to right and vice versa? Especially when removing the magnet from the clipper by sliding it a bit with a thumb. If yes is this small play normal?
hi.. i like the sound of your original mic you were wearing before the switch to this dji one. would you please give me the name of it. I would like to buy it instead of the dji. thanks.
I'm using it full time on my channel now. My criticism stands, but they are great. I will have another set coming soon from another brand if you want to stick around. But I can recommend it if you are ok with the shortcomings listed

Clips feel really neat and tight and should not be a cause of noise
