best comparison I´ve seen so far, great job man, cheers!
Thank you for your comprehensive and objective review Mark😊
You’re most welcome.
Now that was a helpful review, thanks!
I thought the DJI's sounded so much more clear! Funny to see you break down the technicality of it and mention that the Comica was more detailed. Goes to show I know nothing about audio lol
Outstanding and very thorough review. Super helpful. Thank you!
Thanks!
Internal recording is extremely important. Dji win with that alone.
Yes, losing the signal means nothing in the case of DJI. That being said I have a Comica system for less than 200, that has all the functions of the DJI and is still much cheaper.
love how you have that door slightly ajar
Great review, thanks Mark! Best regards from Poland!
Glad it was helpful!
Good video, but I didn't understand - where Comica stores the recorded audio?
New studio looks great mark!
Thanks! Having the extra space is such a relief.
One other thing you didn't mention . The reason why the DJI is so popular is because it works with drones controllers that's what the little adapters are for as well as iPhones and android . There is so much more you can do with the DJI one as it also has a hot shoe to fit on top of a DSLR camera .
There is no comparison between the two . If you want the best of the best and put a smile on your face then by the DJI .
If you want cheap option which sort of does the job then maybe go for another company but don't expect too much ...
At the end of the day you get what you pay for .
My comments above have no reflection on your video as generally speaking I think you've spoken very well in your review 👍👍
Wait, what. I had no idea, so when you used the DJI with the drone, where does the audio end up? This sounds really interesting, I have never even seen it mentioned in other videos.
@@markwiemels the sound recording ends up on the controller as two separate files , then you use video editing software to do the rest .. quite complicated to explain I suggest you do a TH-cam search there is someone out there who can explain it a lot better than I can ..
th-cam.com/video/1oTJp7Fs1WM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=TkBVLX7PasH0-zA_
so if you're recording the drone say around the funfair for example just place the microphones on the lamppost to catch the sound of the funfair this sound will be recorded to the controller screen recording , you can then use the video recording from the screen and the sound and with the software on the computer and take the screen video recording away after you've lined up your drone video recording. etc . I hope that sort of makes some kind of sense ..
I actually replaced my rode wireless go (ver one) for comica mics I have a different set of mics but I found that the audio to be more crispy. Now I’m glad I saw this video, cause I want to get this mic set now too for the quick and on the go audio set up. Just wish they make one with a lav Jack on the next ver
What other mic systems do you have i am looking for a wireless mic system
For me, the Comica dealbreaker is the inability to use lavs with it. Having the TX hanging from the talent's shirt, and with the green LED on too, is clunky
Comica does have lav mic versions. Green lights can be covered with tape like we used to do with VW bug generator light.
@@Step-n-Wolfyou can also clip mic on with the clip facing out to hide the light.
So because of the internal recording, DJ!-100 and Comica=0 On the DJI is the S/N better on internal recording or the same from the reciever?
I'm a wedding DJ and just picked up the Comica for $99. I currently use Rode Wireless Go 2, but will try these at wedding in a couple of days.
What’s do you think about the ulanzi am18 vs the comica v3?
have the DJI and it's super! paired with a lavalier mic it's great
Yes, they are great.
I rarely comment on videos, if ever, but this is one of the best reviews I've ever watched. So clear, detailed and focused. Thanks so much for this, and you got yourself a sub!
I just ordered the Vimo C3. Keep up the amazing work, Mark! All the best!
Thanks so much!
To me, being able to use DJI or Rode wireless mics as stand-alone recorders makes them unbeatable. This is at least 50% of their worth right there.
Yeah, thats a huge bonus, I tend to use the Zoom f2 for that now, but that's and extra device and cost.
which one do you prefer, DJI or Røde?
@@storiestellr the Rode for sound quality, the DJI for usability. The Rode Wireless Pro is now ahead and soon the DJI Wireless Mic II will be great as well.
@@AndrewVanBeekOttawa thanks!

Great to hear. It far exceeded my expectations.
great review
Thanks
Hi!🌷 New to your channel, very impressed with all of your knowledge. Thank you for sharing Mark!
P.S. you are adorable🥰
Thanks
@@markwiemels ☺️
Thank you! I was surprised by the amount of background sound picked up by both. My dramatically cheaper wired Purplepanda picks up a lot less, and I have a lot of background traffic noise in my city of 10m. While I've watched a ton of mic reviews, I've been surprised at how poor many boom mics are wrt to background noise, compared to my Purplepanda, and they're supposed to be unidirectional and better at eliminating background noise!!!
GOD BLESS MARK. you story, your emotional & physical pain, are truly horrific. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thank you for sharing your story.
Looks great 🎉
Thanks.
This might be the best comparison between the two brands that I've come across. I have the Comica Vimo C, been using it for several months. Were you surprised that Comica agreed to purchase the DJI for you? I think that's quite interesting. As for the sound compsarison, I thnk the Vimo has a little more top end than the DJI, but really, neither one is better than the other, it's pretty much personal preference. I have one little gripe with my Vimo; I lost one of the wind muffs, the mic was clipped on at the time, and I didn't know it was gone until after I finished recording my vlog. There are two included so I have one to use now. I reached out to Comica a couple weeks ago but haven't heard back from them. If you or anyone here knows where I can find a replacement wind muff for the Comica Vimo C mic it would be appreciated. The wind muffs for these are type specific so you can't use just anything, unless you're good at jerry rigging, which I'm not. Again, this was a great review of both brands and for those out there like me who can't quite afford the DJI set up, Comica's is hard to beat for the price. Other than losing a wind muff, I have no complaints with the Comica Vimo C. 😎
какое отношение комики к тому что ВЫ потеряли ветрозащиту 🤣🤣
@@MorozoVladislaw ?? Nothing to do with comedians. I don't undertand your point. Unless you think "Comica" brand name is comedic. Which, to me, it isn't, it's a brand name, nothing to do with comedy. 😎
@@MorozoVladislawyou're lost in translation

Walking away from the receiver is also Blocking the signal. But whenever you face again the receiver the audio is Ok. For Both Of them.
Comica is not just a ranom company at all. Their products have always been good and have improved. I like their efforts. I would def buy their products.
Nice review, it seems a nice improovement from comica previous system. I'm not doing pro level work, however by not having a backup track or a way to record without the receiver is 100% deal break for me since the way I'm need to record must consider that one bike could go far away and in a dynamic enviroment the radio interference happens all the time.
For the budget mic I still recomend the lensgo 348c (Mark reviewed it already, go check it out), for some reason in my ears it sounds better than goII and it is cheaper, the only thing that you must consider with this unit is that the battery life is not great (less than 2h). I believe is because the transmiter is always trying to pair with the transmiter instead just disable the function when record button is activated whitout the receiver is on. I send a suggestion to lensgo to see if they can somehow fix it via firmware, but they never answered.
No, it's does not come down to personal preference. The DJI in your recording is a better performer in all aspects. I've been using audio for my work and hobby almost all my (long) life, and listened to your samples twice on separate occasions with top hardware (good headphones to ThinkPad). You are an excellent speaker and presenter of this stuff, perhaps my favorite.
The Comica leans towards thin and brittle compared to the DJI.
But for the price point, it's good!
What adaptor would you need to use the Comica with the Dji Action 3 and an Android smartphone (usb-C) ? Do you have some that you know work well ?.
If the device does not have a TRRS plug/port, then you need a TRRS to whatever type of plug the device has.
Hi Mark - have always trusted your judgement.
If someone had a Rode Wireless Go (original) today, and had no need for a second TX with their current setup, do you think that person is missing out on anything major by not moving to one of these options, or is this good enough gear for most applications for most people?
No, I think that mic is still more than good enough.
When introducing a product, we hope you can show all the accessories.
I think my only complain in the Comica is that it doesn't have Internal Recording + does not support lav mics.
Unbias video, I liked your contect. Looking for more unbias review videos.
Thank you so much!
I really like this guy.
Just when I started looking at audio. Are you spying on me? Lol
thanks for this review.. im just starting out in filming and i wanted something decent but not ridiculous in price. im willing to spend the money if its worth it.. and this clearly pointing me to the comica side.
Hi my friend! I want to start a new youtube channel and i need a reliable wireless microphone under 200$. I was thinking about comica vimo or hollyland lark m1.. Can you recommend me which is the best wireless microphone under 200$? Thank you.:)
What did you buy ?.
16:40 la me a cricket sports photographer not getting enough and wanting a 300 mts range
I just started a TH-cam channel, and my audio from the camera is less than ideal. I think the Comica is going to work out perfect for me. Thanks for the review!
Great review! And I appreciate hearing your reasoning for doing this. You got a free DJI!😂.
I just ordered the comica mic. I was actually debating it against the hollyland as I didn’t want to spend so much on the dji. This review makes me even happier with my decision. Thanks!
The Comica is hard to beat for the price.
I have a apple 14 pro max. The receiver on the DJI wouldn’t connect. Is there an adapter I can purchase. The connector to the iPhone was blocked due to the phone input configuration. It wouldn’t fully insert because of the phone’s physical barrier
i have a iphone 14 pro max (256bg) I have no problems with the DJI microphone twin pack working with the Apple iPhone , if you use the lightning adapter supplied with the kit , if your phone does not accept the connection turn your phone off and back on . Go into your phone settings and select headphones .
@@cheekyoscar1353 I figured it out. It was my iPhone cover
@@darkmattersproject2951 Great 👍
The Comica has a spike around 6kHz I don't like (a de-esser could help)
Wow. I'm pretty impressed with the comparison. The Comica Vimo is really nice. Probably going to pick this up. Thanks.
Honestly, I think you really can’t go wrong at the price point.
You did not review the noise floor and Comica's noise reduction function
I would not recommend using the "in-mic" noise reduction on any of the mics, the technology just is not there yet, to give a quality result.
Are you in Australia?
Yes
Great review. DJI mic sounded muffled. Like it was inside a pocket. Comica seemed clearer.
Dj❤
Do you like the DJI over the Rode Wireless GO?
It’s close. I think it’s more personal preference, they are equally good in my eyes, and I use both of them.
Thanks Mark
Team DJI ❤
The Comica actually sounds flatter and crisper to my ear, more accurate, and slightly better than the DJI kit. In voice audio, you want the flattest sounding Mic, which doesn't "colour" the audio in any way. If you want warmer, or crisper voice audio, then you eq that in post only, you never try and acquire that in acquisition mode.
I watched the whole video and I'm sad to say I'm very disappointed in how the approach to this review was handled. IMO you used an almost $400 microphone to compare to a $150 microphone, to me it seemed like you used the deal with Comica to purchase a DJI because that was actually what you wanted. Regardless of you saying you didn't purchase it yourself for whatever reason. I would have expected a comparison to like priced items i.e. the Hollyland or Smallrig mic would have been a better choice for comparison. This was like comparing the industry standard to mics to a can and a string. Beyond that, you do you I guess, Again just my opinion.
The concept of the video is that everyone seems to want the expensive DJI mic, but many of them can’t afford it. For those people, is the Comica mic “good enough” I found it a really interesting experiment. Mark Bennett has already done that Comica vs Hollyland video, if you’re interested.
I this video was done perfectly and just shows how well a much cheaper device can perform against ‘premium device’. I actually preferred the audio quality of the Comica in some ways. Both very comparable sound wise.
For me, this was a great comparison. I want the DJI but wondering if it is worth the cost in my case. I have been wondering about other mics like the Hollyland. The big issue for me is, one use would be for fishing on another channel I have. My back would be to the camera and receiver a lot of the time, so internal recording might come in handy. The odd dropped signal might not be bad but if it happens too much, it could be a problem. Another bonus of the DJI is, their action cam has a built in receiver which is a huge plus for me. I really enjoyed the review but I'm no closer to a decision.
A meter is 3 feet. So you were only about 16 meters away.
The dji has more lows than the vimo c has more highs
Comica is great quality - really impressed with them.
and at the price point, I don't even know how some of these companies can do it.
Howdy mark!!!
I wish i could get the range and quality of signal from comica, but the sound quality of the dji mic
Comica is noticeably more articulate and balanced.
Droped? Should be dropped. Great video even though.
wow, vimo c is better...
Any idea if either of these works with Insta 360 One RS thru the mic adaptor? Thanks!
They both should, but I have not tested.
