The national costume of Cambodia is called "Sampod" and not "Sabai". The reason why the former Cambodians had to wear the Sabai is because Cambodia was under the jurisdiction of Thailand for more than four hundred years. Thailand therefore forced Cambodians to wear sabai in order to bring royal tributes such as money trees, gold trees, and other valuables to present to the Thai king in the palace. And if a Cambodian wants to wear a Thai sabai in various important ceremonies, Cambodia must send a letter requesting permission to wear a sabai from Thailand before they can wear a sabai. But after Cambodia fell under the power of France, the Cambodian king and royal family no longer wore sabai. Later, Cambodia had to face many wars which resulted in the death of many talented people. And Cambodian people who survived the war do not have the potential to develop their country, culture, and clothing. Meanwhile, the Thai sabai dress has always been developed to be beautiful and diverse until the Thai sabai dress has become known and loved by people around the world. Cambodia wants their country to be liked by people around the world just like Thailand. Cambodia therefore chose to take the Thai sabai and pretend to be its own national costume. and accused Thailand of being a thief.

These National Thai costumes are the result of collecting historical data and redesigning them in a new way by requirement our queen Sirikit during the reign of King Rama IX.
It is a very sad matter for the Thai people that Cambodia attempts to claim ownership of these costumes and accessories. They accuse Thailand of being thieves based solely on the images on the temple walls since 800 year ago, which can be interpreted in any way you imagine.
While Thailand has abundant evidence, including designers, tailors, fabric weaving sources, jewelry makers, documented records, photographs, and videos from both within the country and internationally.
Cambodia, seeking reputation, income, and a global standing, finds it easier to imitate and violate copyrights rather than create its own identity. It takes a long time for them to prove and gain acceptance, relying on the popularity and acceptance of Thai culture.
The costumes of Cambodia and Thailand differ. You can search for evidence from various sources, except in Cambodia and wikipedia, where they have distorted their own history completely."

Bangkok means “Dry Lake” in Khmer. Many Thai words and alphabet are very very similar to Khmer. Cambodia/Cambodge is a Western name. The country name is Kampuchea “កម្ពុជា”. The people and language are called Khmer.

The Khmer Empire was a Hindu-Buddhist empire in Southeast Asia, centered around hydraulic cities in what is now northern Cambodia. Known as Kambuja by its inhabitants, it grew out of the former civilisation of Chenla and lasted from 802 to 1431

Cambodia cannot answer all questions and has evidence to show as detailed below.-
    1. What---What is the name of each Thai costume?
1.1 What are the names of the parts or materials used for production?
    2. Where---Where is it designed and produced?
    3. When---When was it designed and produced? (Month?/Year?)
4.Why---Why do we have to design and produce?
    5. Who---Who designed and produced it?
    6. How---How is it designed and produced?
***Thailand can answer all question because it has all the evidence***.😊😊😊

😂😂please, Thais stop slandering Cambodia's people, art, culture, etc. I'm Laotian and I have to be fair and impartial based on historical facts. Nothing in modern days Thailand is original, and is mainly derived from Tais (today's Laos) and Khmer such as Thai language, religion, culture, writing, etc. It might be difficult for an ordinary foreigner to know the truth, even Thais themselves don't have a clue.
    A. Condensed Thai history: 1. the original inhabitants of land were Khmer or Khom, but no one knows for sure; nevertheless, Khmer and Khom had shared the same language, culture, religion(Hinduism and later Buddhism). 2. The word "Thai" came from Lao word "Tai"; Tai means commom people, Lao is reserved for royalties and elites , Lao is also a language that all Tais speak in ancient times. 3. Tais=Lao were migrated from China and were aggressively taking over Khom kingdom and formed "Sukothai", but Burma conquered and destroyed the dynasty; in series of subsequent events, Khom dynasty regained power from Burma, and declared the land of Siam. Khom descendents were royal family members and elites, by early 1900s, Tais were outnumbered Siamese, and in 1939, Siam was changed to Thailand for political stability of the kingdom. Thailand has been gone through transformation ever since, and reinventing itself and its language, culture, history, etc. There's no 100% Thai of anything 😢.
    B. Today's Thai language is a mixed or borrowed words - 35% Khmer (Cambodia), 40% Lao, 20% Hindi and others (Chinese, Mon, English, etc.). In addition, today's Thai's and Lao written language are derived from Khmer's, and Khmer's written language is derived from India; be side this is full of BS!
    C. There's no surprise either regards to Thai's traditional dresses, food, music & dance, religion, etc. Example, Thai's royal guard parade, the soldiers sure dress up like king Charles' royal guards. How are you going explain that to the British? Thais are the bad guys here! The beautiful Buddha statues and artifacts in Bangkok, Thailand museums and temples were belonged to Laos and Cambodia.
    D. I'm just waiting to set facts straight.I understand it's about tourism business, and it's not about historical truth; it's just my educated opinions.

Cambodians like to use pictures on the walls to mark themselves as the origins of boxing, sabai, and khon and share them on their Facebook pages. But Thai people are good at finding real information to answer, such as various boxing moves. Cambodians took pictures on the wall and claimed they were boxing moves, but actually the pictures on the wall were pictures of Indians fighting. both holding shields and weapons It has nothing to do with boxing.

This is not true. Southeast Asia region where Thai, Cambodia, Loas and part of Veitnam are residing today were part of the Khmer Empire. When the Khmer Empire collapsed in 1430, the lands got divided and the Khmer culture spreads. Thai, Loas and Cambodia share these culture. Except for the Vietnamese they got their influence from the Chinese. Cambodian used to be call Kampuchea and their people is called Khmer.
