Wow this is so interesting. I have never heard of such escape siren networks before. To deploy a system of that size and complexity just to inform people in the unlikely situation of somebody escaping the whack shop is so wonderfully yesterday.. But makes you wonder, would it not have been easier, and less disturbing for the environment, to just secure the maximum security facility better
The one at Wokingham Garage is still there, was quite pleased to see it as I went past on the bus from Bracknell to Reading last Friday. Thought I missed out on seeing one.
Summary of all the Broadmoor sirens in most areas of SURREY and BARKSHIRE that’s cool u done a great job in 2014 and the ones which are disappearing in 2018 and this year 2019 but this was truly entertaining as I love the practice every Monday 10:00am
There are a few videos on here of the Carstairs Escape sirens. Simply type in "Carstairs Escape warning Siren test" and there ya are! (: They sound very spooky!
@@mrmattandmrchay Yeah I've done some searching around and they are the only 2 videos I've found. Just thought it was to give some kind of idea what the Sirens are like.
@@kierantaboryt7827 Cool thanks for that. Yes, I was going to ask anyone that had already filmed one if it was ok for me to use the footage and I'd give their channel a plug - but I didn't find anything. Does sound nice though.
Great summary and great news on the new series! UK map will be more up-to-date now! Just one thought on the Broadmoor sirens when they were all up: how many had the square maintenance cages compared to the octagonal ones? Reason being there were a few that were installed some years after the original sirens. I believe 4 were added, but I cannot be sure.
Also the four added on later are the square variety. I also think that the shopping centre one was added later but the centre seems to be rather 80s looking so definately wouldnt be from the 50s!. I am not sure though.
@mrmattandmrchay There are many systems in the uk that include: Severnside Sirens - Bristol Syngenta Sirens - Leeds Wilton International - Redcar Portsmouth Naval Base Sirens - Portsmouth Devonport Sirens - Plymouth Eastman CS6 Siren - Newport (Check my channel for recording) Grimsby & Cleethorpes Flood Sirens - Grimsby & Cleethorpes Grangemouth MICC CWS - Scotland Isle of Portland Sirens - Devon Vale Europe Siren - Swansea Calderdale Flood Sirens - Calder Valley There are more but too many to remember. If you want maps of sirens or areas that they are located, I’ll be happy to help Jack
Well they’re not tested but they’re definitely still connected. A fault on Wednesday meant the sirens went off a few times. Didn’t hear them myself unfortunately.
I'm really sad as one day last week, I was at school and the Broadmoor siren was GONE! It was working perfectly and I'm really annoyed and quite upset.
What Is The Name & License Type Is The Song In The First Part Of This Video? I'd Love To Use It In Some Of My Videos Someday! (Or At Least If You Own The Song And Give Me Permission To Use It, Or If It Is A Creative Commons Or Public Domain Use License)
Oh, it's long... sorry :) In israel, all sirens replced by speakrs, connect maybe with cellular or optic fiber, and connected to main computer with software that maps all the country area and activate allmost automaticaly by somehow sensors. It's basicly sound file (In "Darom" near Gaza-strip there sound "Red Alarm-TzevaAdom" that is mostly histeric on the world). - All this connected also to applications api, TV graphics, radio, beepers, cellular towers alarm cellphones is still in tests i think. Still working also on Tsunami. Earthquake I'm not sure, but they records real-time on sysmolgi (or what called), and have sensors near RailTracks connected to emergency call center rail company. Actally, the main is for rockets here, very problematic with others alarms... "startup nation". So I always think why to replace "good" thing siren... the video answer that. Well, in my head it's still good then somewhat technologic, cyber and all that shit... Ah, the tests here is maybe between 6 mon' - 1 year. If it was every week i kill that shit :)
I have to admit, the decommissioning makes me sad. Yes, drivers hooked up to an amplifier screeching tones through horns will be very efficient and much less work, but boy do the tones on them sound awful, not even worth a recording... especially the model Broadmoor is putting in! :(
I knew the new tour would be Carstairs! I cannot wait!

The New Siren Is Nowhere Near As Loud As The Old Strong Singer Sirens
The one at Wokingham Garage is still there, was quite pleased to see it as I went past on the bus from Bracknell to Reading last Friday. Thought I missed out on seeing one.
Sadly not any more :(
Could you not ask the owner of the sirens if they are prepared to give you a dicomissioned siren?
I did try to, but apparently they're going to Museums.
Broadmoor Siren M Is My Favorite Because Of How You Hear The Low Tone A Little Bit
Why not use them as anti t-series warning sirens instead of removing them
*fake laughter*
The Siren System Is 60 Years Old And Finding Parts Is At The Hard Level
So annoyed when E failed, and the only one I heard was G at the hospital. Very, very distantly.
al66class59 oof
Come back to Siren G when you can, I'd be surprised if it didn't sound.

Found two, but no-one has actually been to a siren location. These are just audio recordings from houses?
