I have heard that long-time practitioner's of qigong have a higher level of bio photons and maybe they can't find it because the instruments sensitive enough to measure energy, meridians, etc. haven't been developed yet. I do know that I am glad that I didn't have to have any verification from the medical or scientific areas to begin the practice of qigong. I could feel the difference immediately, and just kept going. The benefits keep coming after years of you coming into my living roomeveery day for about 7 years now. I appreciate what you have done for me and for so many! And I say thanks and clap after routines! 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏 🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏

I can recall these 3 with a clue to bringing Qi IN: IN-hale (I breathe in Prana, not just oxygen) - IN-tend to see and feel the energy - IN the Flow, go with the flow, mindful in the moment. Thank you for good tips :)

Have you ever tried doing qigong with a weight vest? I have been doing it with 35lbs and it feels like the practice is 10x more powerful and energizing for a long duration. Feel more graceful and fluid in my movements the rest of the week too when I do it regularly.

Running builds Qi for me more than anything besides qigong (lasts the next 1-2 days). 10 mins easy -> 10 mins hard (panting) -> 10 mins easy.

You didn't mention semen retention. Yet some masters think that you shouldn't even practice Qigong 3 days post ejaculation as the qi gets depleted. I know this is an awkward topic for TH-cam, but isn't it worthy of being mentioned?

    • @MrHighlander400

Interesting, as I have been back and forth with this issue this for a long time. I would think you should be doing Qi Gong post ejaculation session, as IF (I am not sure if it does) by doing it does depletes Chi like you said? I would think doing whatever form of QiGong would help build the energy back up....Semen retention might have some be benefits for short term, there is not enough evidence for me to know if it does help, but I know not ejaculating for me longer term, causes me pain down there and I become more irritable. There is medical evidence that not ejaculating can increase prostate problems and prostate cancer.

@@MrHighlander400 the exact opposite is the case. According to Dr. Jwing-Ming Yang in his book "The Root of Chinese Qigong" ejaculation depletes your original Qi from the kidneys. When you practice Qigong with too little Qi in the body it can be harmful. Hence the recommendation by some teachers to wait 3 days for the Qi to build back up before practice. However, this doesn't mean that you should be doing semen retention indefinitely. That can cause stagnation and related issues. It's a complex topic but an important one nonetheless.

@@fgh6526 I am familiar with Jwing-Yang Ming and used to do the QiGong in his videos. His video on aspects of the White Crane ChiGong video was helpful for back pain. I remember a lot of "flappy" movements in the arms and back oscillation movements in that video. Is he talking about Jing Chi in the kidneys. Being depleted? I have heard post 35 years of age, the orginal Qi is not as much and by tapping and pounding on the kidney's can help mitigate and restore Jing Chi. I felt far more drained and tired after the physical act of sex with a woman, than with a self-stiumlation ejaculatory session. I have to wonder if the physical act of sex produces more of a drain on the male body and life force than doing it yourself. Men give, women take is my experience. But, I will look up the information you mentioned. 3 days seems to a common period of time on many Chinese medicine and acupuncture.

@@MrHighlander400 interesting information about the tapping. I think 3 days is correct due to noticing it before I even knew about Qigong, so stumbling upon this recommendation from a teacher just confirmed it for me. At day 3 I would always feel like I'm energetically "back to normal". More than 5-7 days and it becomes fairly unpleasant, as if I'm too Yang, easily irritated, domineering etc. So I think the NoFappers and Brahmacharya people are doing harm by recommending abstaining for longer periods. The materialists are equally wrong by saying that it makes no difference. As in everything, balance is important.
