Cant believe how humble and generous ron was with all the info. Gives us 6k worth on info in less 30 minutes, then at the end of the video, he tells us "thank you"
After all this time I'm still watching your videos and you're still saving me a boatload of money from heaven. Thank you so much, Rest in Peace Brother.
you probably dont give a damn but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I was stupid lost the account password. I would love any tips you can offer me
@Jamal Emmett i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Yes on both Billy. You can just remove the ficm to get the pipe out but I remove the turbo, I'll make one on reconnecting the y-pipe next week. There is a few tricks that make it easy,
Man that guy has fast hands! Seems like a great guy. Glad he got so many videos made and put out there to help everyone. His legacy will be around for a long time. Rest in peace brother.
Hey Ron, your videos are awesome! One thing that I think was omitted for those who have never pulled a turbo (unless I missed it) was to also disconnect the VGT solenoid wiring.
Ron, just wanted to thank you for your willingness to share your knowledge and experience. The dealership wanted to charge me $1200 to clear the turbo - your 2 videos provided the guidance I needed to do it myself. Thanks again ! steve
This guy is truly a MASTER. I've been watching videos that have nothing to do with any personal repair, just for pure pleasure. Terrible and very sad that he's gone.
He is like the bob ross of diesel repair. I find myself doing the same thing, just letting the videos play because the way he talks is very soothing Please donate to the family... RIP DTR
Ron , thank you for all the great videos. The way you explain things , its just so easy to understand. Just love my 6.0 dually & with your helpful videos she runs like a dream.
I don't know international part numbers. But the answer is yes. If you want the turbo whine/whistle then install an 03 on any year. 03 do have a different base or mount that has to be changed but the rest bolts right up
Just like that old saying...the good guys always make it look so easy. Wow! The way you removed the turbocharger unit, made is appear as if anyone with limited mechanical skills could pull it off. So smooth. As with all your videos, thank you again. Take care. K Inouye Honolulu, Hawai'i
Ron, Love the videos. I have a 02 7.3. I don't have any issues other than I've noticed my mileage just isn't like it used to be. The engine has just over 200000 miles. My truck has the mpg counter or indicator just above the rear view mirror. When the truck was fairly new the indicator would read about 345 miles after a fill up, now it shows about 268, but my odometer trip will show that I get 316 miles per tank. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get my milage back up to 345 per tank. Or you may know a tip or trick that I'm just not covering. Oil and filters changed every 5000 miles. Thanks in advance! Larry
You do not know what you can loose until you have lost it. Just think of what we lost when we lost Ron. His wife lost a husband, his kids lost a father, his neighborhood probably lost a good friend, and we lost so much as he would have graduated to the 6.4l and the 6.7l not to mention his FICM repair and the links to sources for good parts for good prices. RIP Ron as the rest of us are fighting our way through problems that you could have solved for us.
You are my favorite master mechanic, my f 350 diesel, I changed it and now it won't start and I took it out and the thread remained, how did I get it out?
just bought a 6.0L and been watching your videos, did not know that you have passed away. Thnaks for your help, i am watching your videos to do a lot of repairs on my 6.0
Good stuff, I'm not diesel guy I've done countless gas motors from old beaters to new corvettes. My wife recently showed up with a 2006 F350, within a few days it developed some issues. your videos were very instrumental in helping me diagnose the problems and fix them in a somewhat efficient manner saving me over 10k in repair cost. Your videos are the only ones I've watched that have correct info, Thank you for sharing your knowledge.---------Redvette2014-----I owe you
Even years after this wonderful human being ( Ron ) is dead, his contents are still alive helping millions of people to solve problems, this is a true testament to the saying that good people don't last.Ron I miss you and may you continue to rest in peace and may God continue to protect the family that you left behind.
I'm hoping somebody can help me I have a 2006 F250 with a 6.0l I put a new high pressure oil pump on and also a IPR valve I put it all back together it started up it sounded very good but now I notice soon as I started it sounds like it's sucking air and I can smell fuel I have went over all my clamps everything is tight does anyone know what that could be I appreciate your help
Great video. I would like to upgrade my injectors on my '05 f250 6.0. Would like to save the well over a grand ford wants in labor. Is this a DIY or will I end up throwing them against a wall in disappointment. Thanks
Man thanks very much for this video, I could not figure out how to get to that back bolt but ur vid made it possible and I'm going to make mine instead of paying snapon a bunch of money plus ur other video really was a big help for me removing my turbo and egr setup if it wasn't for guys like u us shade tree guys wouldn't stand a chance taking this bad boy apart so thanks for ur time and effort helping us save big bucks instead of paying ford for something that should of been a recall, I mean what good does it do to have a engine that will last 500,000 miles only to have something this stupid go bad at 60,000 miles it's a joke and should of been ran on the outside making it easy to get to, so thanks a million I sporeciate ut greatly, Harry Haithcoat just another do it ur selfer lol
Ron, Cleaned up the turbo on my e350 ambulance and welded up the egr runs great now and po299 is gone. Do i have to install a tuner or can I get rid of po401 by bypassing the egr solonoid?
the 2005 oil cooler i just did took me like 45 min to get the turbo out, but i also had the alt, oil filterhousing/fuel filter housing off, since they ahd to come off anyways. but that rear exaust clamp(inlet side) i had the same issue just covered in pen fluid and heard it pop.
We just bought an 04 a little over a month ago - has run fine but all of a suddn having crank/no start. watched some of your videos - have bought tester...checkd ICP seems fine/no wiring issue we can find. Test show IPR goes to 85, but almost no ICP press. Took chance ordered IPR - got turbo and IPR, o rings not great - scrn has crack on the plastic and had to pull out of HPOP. Put new IPR in - is it poss to test now or must all reassemble first? Not reading any ICP now (tried turning over)
The 6 point box wrench you made for rear bolt on an 03 turbo...does it have any offset? I know snap-on sells a wrench made for it with a 0 degree offset (straight) but the wrench that you made it looks like it might have an offset...maybe 15 degree? Before I went and bought the snap-on Id prefer to just use a wrench I already have. Thanks
Thanks Ron,your great! I try to tell these young guys I work with to specialize in these engines (Powerstrokes),as they will plenty of good paying work in the years to come.
I cant get warm air in the cab on my F250 w/6.0 unless the engine is 1800 rpm or higher, I have replaced the heater core, water pump , checked the thermostat and hose routing. If you keep the recovery tank overfull it seems to help . Also replaced the coolant cap , Repo truck so I have no history, 200K miles Seems like there is something missing around the water pump but don't know what it is. Also has a delete. Any Ideas ?
Great video!! Could you make a video of removal of the turbo up pipes and install? Can this be done without dropping the transmission or raising the cab?
hi. I have an 04 ford f350 6.0 . with a production date of 07 03 and It has an oil leak.. valve covers look dry. it seems like it is coming from behind the turbo and it drips on both side to the tranny. it drips more on the starter side. I am hoping it is the ipr valve or the icp sensor but I cant find them . can you please tell me where they are at. I have read that they are behind the turbo but while watching you do it I could not see everything. thanks and god bless.. I checked and my Icp sensor is not on passengers side valve cover.
intelin123 I just did mine yesterday, Ron has a great video on how to remove. My icp sensor and pigtail was loaded with oil. Took a few hours, but I'm no longer getting the P2285 code.
Thanks Ron. I own an 07 F350 with a 6.0 ltr Diesel. How many kilos can I expect to get out of a turbocharger ,with the variable geometry style? thx Kevin
1693caterpillar Oh, gotcha. Can't answer your question, but I can tell you your turbo cares just as much about quality oil and regular oil change intervals as your injectors do. It's probably the single most important thing you can do to take care of a 6.0.
redin575 Your dead right about the the oil. I use synthetic oil in mine to keep it well lubed and to keep those H.E.U.I. injectors from sticking. Thanks....

@Jamal Emmett It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
@Chandler Karter Happy to help =)
Rest in Peace Ron. Learned so much from you.
Thanks again Ron. I'm still watching your videos. RIP buddy!!!!😞
Love your vids Ron, I also love how you end with humbleness.
Wish everyone else who works on diesels had that attitude.
Yes on both Billy. You can just remove the ficm to get the pipe out but I remove the turbo, I'll make one on reconnecting the y-pipe next week. There is a few tricks that make it easy,

Thanks for being a great teacher Ron... Best Legacy, Rest in Peace sir
The shop I go to tells me that the clamps have to be replaced everytime their removed. True?
Imagine how fast he could've removed it if he wasn't explaining every step.
Rest In Peace Ron. Thank you so much for all of your help
Videos still help us bud. Thank you Ron Rest In Peace
Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Well appreciated!!
God Bless you Ron for all the help you've given all of us 6.0 Powerstroke victims. I bet there's some big ass diesels in heaven. RIP
good work! when u fast forwarded the video i was like "wat the fuck super powers!" lol got me off guard!
Great vids. Thanks for sharing
The 6 point box wrench you made for rear bolt on an 03 turbo...does it have any offset? The nut on the v-band clamp that you need the flex head wrench for was 11mm on my '05 6.0.
Hey Ron i have a question. I have a 2006 f250 with turbo part number 1832255c91 that needs to be replaced can i use part number 1854593c91? I
Thanks Ron,your great! I try to tell these young guys I work with to specialize in these engines (Powerstrokes),as they will plenty of good paying work in the years to come.
I have a question I did the pressure test on the fuel rail and there is air coming out of the hpop from a whole behind the gear is that normal???
You would have been a great man to know!
Thank you for all your help.✝️
On the exhaust clamp a air hammer with a blunt tip well vibrate it off no need for prying and damaging the clamp
I can't get my exhaust intake pipe off the turbo. Any suggestions?
I had one of my settings wrong on ficm sync , it does have sync but the ipr goes to 84.7% while your cranking it.

Plugged oil cooler or stuck thermostat. Start with the Thermostat.
you are a lot more pleasant to listen to than a lot of the other riff raff on youtube
Such a good guy, thank you. RIP
Ron is Iron cleaner the best thing for cleaning up the cooling system, and how often should it be done?
can po401 cause a limp mode or will the light just keep comin on?
Great video!! Could you make a video of removal of the turbo up pipes and install? Can this be done without dropping the transmission or raising the cab?
10 mins????? Omg I have 2 days thinking how to do the job hahaha
The turbo on the 7.3L is really buried in the back. It looks like they simplified it with the 6.0L
Does it increase mileage.
my dad have an f250 1996 and e doesent know how to remove the turbo. help!
Do you have a easier way to reconnect the y-pipe and exhaust pipe back on the turbo without having a leak?
🙏🙏🙏
happens if you leak in the turbo coupler clamp
Thank you sir. R.I.P.

Hey Ron any tips for aligning the uppipe? Thanks!
Leave the turbo pedestal bolts loose till you have it connected. Or a ratchetstrap.
Ron, the OG 6.br0
good video. thank you
