First of all, LOVED the intro. I think it works as a prelude to the tutorial, but would definitely consider uploading it separately. I love sharing clips like these with models I know to set the mood and to get inspired.
Nathan, I really loved your little stylish intro vid and I think it's terrific that you are experimenting and having fun with it. It really shows how a predominantly stills photographer can make use of a bit of video footage though. I found it inspiring. I think it would actually work to your benefit to post these separately from the BTS breakdown / tutorial though. It gives you the opportunity for more stream promotion -- the more uploads you post, the more attention you get -- and in the event that somebody finds the intro a bit too long for their taste it avoids them clicking away.
Loved the intro Nathan Awesome photos, video plus tutorials as usual and thank you for all of your knowledge that you share here Daniela is a wonderful model and works the poses like a star Thanks again 👍
Nathan, I guess the introduccion video helps to have a glimpse on the work you are going to teach us. It would be great idea to have them in your next tutorials. As I used to say, thanks a lot for your videos, they are a great inspiration. I keep watching them from Ushuaia, Argentina.
Hi Nathan, loved the intro and love all your content. Its great that you show a bit of the shoot and then the retouch but personally I would (out of interest) like to know why you are doing the shoot (is it just for our learning etc) but also how the concept came about. Also discuss why you are using the settings you are using. Keep up the stunning work.
@@allisonbaum4736 unlike Nathan I don't have to be diplomatic. Just viewed your channel and realised you're a master with Photoshop. You have used the clone brush to clone totally empty site. Don't be a Troll because you are jealous and have no talent yourself.

again such an amazing video Nathan! I liked the Intro video at the beginning. These photos are awesome! Did you used the eye focus oder manuel focus for bringing the cigarette in focus? keep up the good work
Hello Nathan from Saigon VN, I've never missed any your videos so far as they are valued for myself. I love your lighting uses and have good learning. Especially, I like your studio much. If it possible I 'd have a question: How to minimize effected of covid-19 to your photography i.e. services, earning or new ideas? Thank you very much.
Hey Thanh! Minimizing the effects on business when it comes to Covid really just lies in your areas restriction policies. There were times here when I couldn't work for a few months, and times now when I am free to work as I please. The main thing for me is having a solid client base that I've built over the years that continues to hire me for work as new projects come up. I try to make every client a forever / repeat client so that I don't have to constantly hunt down new clients, and can instead facilitate my client base.
Nathan...love the intro video, it really sets the mood and tone for the concept! The only potential issue is viewers looking for instructional content may move on before they get to what they are looking for?? When I noticed the length of the clip....I was hooked. Thanks for the extra efforts!
You totally could, but I have the brain that once I decide on an aesthetic, I stick with it :) Maybe not always the best approach, but it's worked for me thus far.
@@NathanElson I do also. I only ask because sometimes the retouching could look funny with the grain added. Thanks for the video. More lighting techniques to add to my arsenal.
Thanks for such amazing video! Well, about the first part, maybe separate is better. But together with the tutorial is good too. I mean, I can´t decide ;)
Personally I like B-Roll and intros. If you want only the tutorial, you can add the time stamps/time chapters. That intro as was really good Nathan. Maybe do a short about it.
Intro video was nice!! As for the rest, I only have 2 "issues". First, if you are using a cigarette as a element of composition, it should be lighten; honestly I don't see a point in using a cigarette that is not lightened. I know you probably can't/shouldn't light one inside your studio, but even so... Second, even if this is not a specific tutorial on retouching, since you are showing it, for the sake of good practices, perform it in a way that won't induce bad habits on your subscribers; like doing your clean up in the BG layer (just duplicate it....its that simple). You have my like and subscription! Cheers!
My Pics looks like 💩 maybe because I use a Speedlight (Gn 60) with a 60x60 cm softbox. I tried different angles and nothing beautiful ad this shots happened. I am so frustating. I Watch this video a lot of times and I cant be able to shoot a good portrait 😰
The intro section was interesting to watch but I nearly clicked off because it wasn't what I was expecting to see. Maybe add it at the end of the shoot but before the retouch section.
Intro video included as part of the tutorials or release them on their own? Let me know what you all think!
First of all, LOVED the intro. I think it works as a prelude to the tutorial, but would definitely consider uploading it separately. I love sharing clips like these with models I know to set the mood and to get inspired.
i think the short film should be shorter if its at the begging tbh, but it looks cool!

Great intro! Complete process as separate video. Great info. Thank you.
I loved the opening teaser! More please!
Thanks!
I like how you set up the vibe for what you are about to show
Thanks Walo
Yeah , the intro video was pretty nice 👍🏾. Sets the tone for what we are about to see. As always, fantastic work man 😊👌🏾. Keep them coming.
Awesome! Thank you!
Loved the lil montage video intro to the following shoot, I just love the beautiful, class and inspiring work you do.
thank you!
Thanks Scott! Glad you enjoyed it.
I love this style and all styles of your shootings. I try this definitely . but the problem is cant find so easy a nice model.
How can anyone do a thumbs down…..I suppose envy would be a reason. Keep up the brilliant videos Nathan
Haters gonna hate
Loved the intro Nathan

Thanks Enrique! I appreciate the feedback, and glad your're enjoying the videos.
Nice little trick how you used color thingies to pop highlights. I would've added the silver-rich noise after healing. All in all, awesome!
Thanks Vann! And ya, there are always different ways to get to the same result ;)
@@NathanElson Not in this case Nathan. He is correct!

Amazing thanks😁🤩
Thank you too!
Amazing work !!!!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
so, you finally stepped into Nikon mirrorless ?
hope you kept the trusty D800 ...
why the z6II and not the z7(II) ?
Liked the intro video added to the main video
Thanks Dave!
Nice video Nathan. Do you think it would have made a difference to retouch then turn it into a black and white and add the grain?
You totally could, but I have the brain that once I decide on an aesthetic, I stick with it :) Maybe not always the best approach, but it's worked for me thus far.

Love the intro video, keep doing them.
Great video as always :) so you went with the Z6ii instead of the z7ii? Any particular reason and how do you like the mirrorlessb Nikon System?
I'll make a video about it ;)
Keep them! Short and nice 👌🏻
Thanks for the input Niclas!
Thanks for such amazing video! Well, about the first part, maybe separate is better. But together with the tutorial is good too. I mean, I can´t decide ;)

Do both but maybe at the end of the video. The videos would be great for shorts/reels/tik tok or just regular videos to drive traffic to this page.
Solid ideas. Thank you!
Very nice
Thanks!
luv the intro vid
Thanks Ronny

thank you for the lessons I'm watching them in Russia. Привет из России!!!

More of these kind of Intro's
Sounds good, I appreciate the feedback!
Incredible smh 🤦 wow
The intro section was interesting to watch but I nearly clicked off because it wasn't what I was expecting to see. Maybe add it at the end of the shoot but before the retouch section.
That makes sense. Might be something better placed after the intro so people know what they are watching. Thanks for the input!
I'm going to say keep it separate because I don't want you to cut either short.
Fair enough, thanks Carlos!
Like the vid as an intro to the tutorial, but wouldn't watch it as a stand alone post.
Thanks for the input Russ, much appreciated!
i bet he hates his job.... not
Thanks.
