Hey! The routing is pretty straightforward: USB cable from the force to the minilogue to send midi back and forth, and the mono out goes from the minilogue into insert one or two of the force. That's it. I then record midi clips on the force and send the midi notes and program changes (for different minilogue presets) to the minilogue. Sometimes, I record audio from the minilogue into the force and create loops that contain lots of filter, lfo and adsr knobs movement.
i use the minilogue xd, which I call the 'dream machine', the akai force that I call 'the maker' and the arturia microfreak that I call 'the lazers' haha. That combo is infinite fun. pure magic
Hey man, I dig your combo. Almost every synth sound in that live set has been recorded by the force as audio or midi loops. So, I'd say that 80-90% of the synth elements you hear in that set are straight from the minilogue. I also send midi clip data to the synth so that I have both hands free for changing sound parameters.
Hey thanks for replying Wolfgang. I think its really inspirational how you can set up the note sequencer in the force to anything from key, progressions, harmonizations and so forth, and then sends the midi however you set it, to external synths like the minilogue.
Sometimes I like to hit the load button on the midi track, go to content/midi files and just load some of the built-in ones on the the minilogue midi track. Get some sweet results when you hit play. Sometimes a nice polyrythm suprise haha
Ins and outs are pretty straight forward: the mono out of the minilogue goes into input 1 of the minilogue. Both devices communicate via usb midi and the two outputs of the force go into my tascam dr-40 which records everything.
I followed through half of your tutorial so far and it was immensely helpfull! I still struggle with assigning the right effects to the right knobs though.
Thank you. In one of my tutorials (the older and longer one) I explain how I use and assign fx-chains. The tutorials on the official akai force channel are also pretty helpful if you want to know more about the basics.
Thank you. Yes, I do. However, I sometimes change the program by hand if the program is supposed to stay the same in future scenes and I want to start with the initial program settings again. This way you reset all the filter, envelope and lfo settings back to their original positions, which wouldn't happen if I used the same program in the next scene and just relied on midi program change. If you want to pick a program above 100, let's say 125, then you would have to choose program 25 and change bank 0 to 1.
DAAAAAAAAAAMNN YOU ROCKKKKK
awesome !!!
Great job Wolfgang!! Always love to watch your videos
Thanks! By the way, your clownfest set was awesome 👌
@@wolfgang_grows thx mate!!

Hi I just bought a Minilogue to pair with my Force, I would like to know how do you route everything together?

@@wolfgang_grows Thanks man, I managed to get it to work. So much fun

Could you share the routing on this? I'm very new to the whole ins/outs stuff. LOL

How exactly and what filters/effects did you assign to the knobs? These are great and really make a difference to the awesome sounding performance!

@@wolfgang_grows great! I will look into them!
Very cool! Great melodies and good grooves. That was fun watching 👍 do you send program changes to the minilogue?
