1 Candle light 2 Rubio 3 the spray. I just found your second channel! However, it looks like I'm too late. I hope you decide to try and continue with it sometime. I really enjoy your main channel!
I'm with you. 1 and 3 are the 2 that I like most, but I didn't necessarily have a favorite between the two. I think it may depend on the type of furniture for me.
I am joining Team number one. It is the best of the group. It does require an investment in equipment. For finished without the equipment, I go with the oil.
And just like that I’m here. I’m so glad I found you and your channel/s Barry. 🥰 I really like number 4. Hope that helps you going forward but as you say everyone likes different things and these are yours so you get to decide the finished look. Which ever way you go it’s going to be a beautiful outcome on the piece you’re restoring.
*Beautiful collection* ... ♥️ Loved seeing the different finishes side-by-side. And I appreciate that you left the area's in-between each of them untouched.
Hello Barry, Love your content and how you explain your work. You do such a fine job on both. I feel like #1 is the winner for me. That one shows the grain off very well, along with the contrast.
I prefer #1 because of the glossy finish, but I adore #2 Candlelight. The other finished tables you showed (Candlelight with a glossy finish) were perfect, in my humble opinion.
I like number 1 and I also like when you use that expensive wax that you brush on that comes in a jar I believe. It's so satisfying to watch when u use it. I'm in love with it. I like your videos so much they are very soothing and bring me some calm. So thanks for making these videos they always look so beautiful when you're done.
Just watched a very interesting video and would like to recommend it to you. I think you might find it interesting too. Mad Man Restorations restored a Lane Acclaim table and used grain filler. The finish on the end result was absolutely gorgeous! Lots of extra work but that finish seemed worth it. Thanks for all you do for charity and to educate me. This was a great video.
I like the tinted lacquer ‘factory finish’. I have a ton of Acclaim. All purchased at thrift stores, rummage/garage sales or flea markets. What I’ve collected ranged from very mint-factory-fresh, to spray painted, all the way to structurally damaged, major-repair-train wrecks. Im sort of a vintage furniture purist, and I most appreciate the original designers vision with these kind of pieces. But, to each their own!
I thought at first that I liked the high contrast between the two woods best, but seeing the finishes together, I'm going for number one. The gloss suits the style and the wood tones balance better. I guess I'm a purist.
1. It’s the standard for a reason. Very good protection. Uniform look. Grain pops. Best of all worlds. Special need may require different approaches, this truly is a great baseline.
1 looks best to me. But I'm glad to see the options involving less effort & exposure. I think consideration of how the table will be used is paramount. Thanks for this! What a great reference for future projects!
I like #1 with the more glossy look and it shows the definition between the wood colors. #2 would be a second choice with a more subtle look. All very interesting.
I am leaning towards 2 but I do like 3 also. I love the shinier look of 2 but I love the natural of 3. So I guess it would be which one would go best with other furniture.
Jak dla mnie to nr 4 jest najlepszy!! Oczywiście nr 1 też jest niczego sobie - ale najlepszy jest ten powojnik :) pozdrawiam serdecznie -pieknie Ci to wychodzi Barry
Thank you for this comparison. I have unintentionally collected 5 Acclaim tables and have felt a little paralyzed about how to start. This has been super helpful and, as always, massively educational. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Favorite is probably #2 candlelight, finished. It's surprising that the sides will lighten up that much. This first phase makes them look like there will be zero contrast but your finished example is gorgeous.
I didn't expect to like the spray on finish the best but I do. Number one for me. I love the glossy finish on it creating a high contrast between the woods.
Dang! I love these video's and I learn so much, and it's gonna be GOLD for me when I start with my worn down mid century coffee table in teak. I go for #1, as I am a succer for the original looks. Thank you! Ps, don't have the possibility to offer any financially help atm, but I will at some point ;)

Yes, no.1 I am at the point of finishing stripping and sanding my "acclaim" coffee table, I am so glad you made the comparison for me.
They all look fantastic but the first finish is best. Superb workmanship! 👍
First Preference is #1 with #3 as runner up. Thanks for this tutorial. 👍
I'm with you. 1 and 3 are the 2 that I like most, but I didn't necessarily have a favorite between the two. I think it may depend on the type of furniture for me.
Thank you Marti
I love the Rubio Monocoat finish, it's the best looking one.
I agree
I am joining Team number one. It is the best of the group. It does require an investment in equipment. For finished without the equipment, I go with the oil.

Hello Barry, Love your content and how you explain your work. You do such a fine job on both. I feel like #1 is the winner for me. That one shows the grain off very well, along with the contrast.
I like number 1 best. It's shiny.

Yes!
I like #4!
I like the sprayed one the best.
I*m choosing #3.
I'll be using that finish alot
I liked 1and 3 the best but think all look good.
Thank you
1 or 2. I just love candlelight on pretty much everything.
I do too
When all is said and done, you can just refinish this one again someday! I vote #1.
You're exactly right
We prefer number one. We also love your flowers and gardens!
Thank you so much!
I liked #1
To my taste, finish number three is the best.
Thank you
Hello 👋
Hi Barry, I like number one. Your so patient. It’s definitely a virtue. See you soon. Joyce ❤️🇺🇸🙏
Thank you Joyce
I have the cedar chest! Given to me as 18th birthday present in 1982, refinished and restored by my mom. Looks just like the one you showed.
That has to be one of my favorite pieces!
@@madcityrestorations8293 mine too!!
Number 5
I like the sprayed laquer and candlelight finishes the best. 🙂
Thank you Vickie. Next one is candlelite
I prefer #1 because of the glossy finish, but I adore #2 Candlelight. The other finished tables you showed (Candlelight with a glossy finish) were perfect, in my humble opinion.
I like 1 best.
Thank you Terry
I like #1 and I live in Bridgewater Virginia
So close!
I like one!
4 or 5
I like the contrast between light and darker wood. 😁
I was surprised how much I liked it
I like #1 or 2 best as the colors are Richer
Well said
3 or 4...similar to me...enjoyed the tutorial very much...looking forward to your next one...Thank you very much!!!
I prefer the 1st one by far. My 2nd choice would be number 4. The little :-( on the painter's tape cracked me up!
Great feedback 🤣
I like 1 the best but all are pretty cool. If a second choice 2 would be the runner up

The first one 👍
Thank you
I liked number 3 best! And surprisingly number 5? IDK, it looks quite pretty on the screen.
Big fan of your work Barry! Thank you for sharing with us!
You'll see more of that finish soon
Beautiful
1, 4, 3, 5, then 2 in order from my favorite to least favorite.
So close to my order
A tie between 1 and 2 for me.
#1 the tinted lacquer. However, you do such beautiful work, they all are wonderful!
The Candlelight gel stain is the one I prefer. Thank you Barry.

@@madcityrestorations8293 what color tint was the tinted?

Thank you my friend
I love #1 and #5 is cool. Glad I finally remembered to go to this channel Barry. Very educational. Your gardens are so pretty 💐🪷🌺🌹🌸
All were interesting, but maybe I prefer 1 or 2. Loved this video - those gorgeously perfect hydrangeas were the 🍒 on top.
Thank you Patricia
I like #1 and the candlelight, which I think was #2. The high contrast is great.
Me too!
#3 gets my vote, but I was shocked at how much I ended up liking #1 also.
Great feedback

Awesome feedback
I like number 1. Thanks for the video and your commentary.
I liked 1 it does keep the traditional look of the piece. Love the video and education aspect of the finishes. Thank you Barry!
Thank you Cassandra
Number 1 would be my first choice, then Number 3.
Great choices
I am leaning towards 2 but I do like 3 also. I love the shinier look of 2 but I love the natural of 3. So I guess it would be which one would go best with other furniture.
Great feedback
I’m going with #3, it’s more natural to me. I love the look of natural wood.
I loved this one too

Hello Misha 😊 happy new year 🎊
My preference would be No1 but that is only me. Each person has a different idea of what they like
Subscribed from your other channel
I'm leaning towards team 3, although the others look great too. This should be an interesting series.
Thank you!
3 please.
I can't wait to use it again
I didn't expect to like the spray on finish the best but I do. Number one for me. I love the glossy finish on it creating a high contrast between the woods.
Great feedback
One or three, depending on the shine you want on the final.
Thank you Richard
Dang!
I love these video's and I learn so much, and it's gonna be GOLD for me when I start with my worn down mid century coffee table in teak.
I go for #1, as I am a succer for the original looks. Thank you!
Ps, don't have the possibility to offer any financially help atm, but I will at some point ;)
I think the Rubio was closest to my ideal finish
That's my choice for most pieces now
Nr4 for me
