Amazing RESTORATION of a Rusty ANTIQUE Hand Drill | Tool Restorations
มุมมอง 9K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a Vintage USA made Hand Drill. I have inherited many tools from my grandfathers and my father. I do my best to bring new life back to these pieces and look forward to using them daily in my shop. I love collecting vintage and antique tools for restoration. This drill came from a local viewer of the channel. Thank you Greg! Some minor repairs were necessary to the jaw, otherwise this is ...
RESTORATION OF A RUSTY ANTIQUE WRENCH | Restoring Vintage Tools ASMR
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
You don't want to miss this Restoration! I inherited this Whitman & Barnes Antique Monkey Wrench from my father. Based on the research, this wrench is from the late 1800s to early 1900s. I love taking apart vintage tools. The quality of the craftsmanship from this era is second to none. I will completely disassemble this wrench, file it, sand it, polish it, and refinish the wood handle. For the...
Amazing RESTORATION of an ANTIQUE Blow TORCH | Tool Restorations
มุมมอง 6K3 ปีที่แล้ว
You don't want to miss this one! In this video I will attempt to restore a 1930s-1940s TURNER blow torch that I inherited from my father. I will completely disassemble the torch, replace several key components, polish the brass using Flitz Metal Polish, and reassemble. Does it work? Tune in to find out. The Purpose of this Channel is to restore old tools, toys and other items. Collecting vintag...
1 for sure. Although I am very late to the party 😢
That lacquer gives the best appearance. But I just don't like using lacquer or polyurethane. I am trying to use products that have low VOC's.
Thanks so much for providing the comparison. It's very helpful.
1 Candle light 2 Rubio 3 the spray. I just found your second channel! However, it looks like I'm too late. I hope you decide to try and continue with it sometime. I really enjoy your main channel!
Yes, no.1 I am at the point of finishing stripping and sanding my "acclaim" coffee table, I am so glad you made the comparison for me.

That’s so beautiful!!! I just found you on your other channel and I’ve subscribed to both… I’m trying to go to sleep but can’t stop watching your videos, I’m so impressed!!! Looking forward to watching you work!!🤍

I like number 1 .
Subscribed from your other channel
Number 1 x
The history is so interesting. I am glad that I was born in 1949 and was able to experience the industrial era where manufacturing was king. This is a beautiful restoration.
I prefer the Rubio Monocoat. I love the fact that it brings out the natural look of the wood.

Why did you use five finishes ?
It's beautiful now!
Wow! It's looking almost new! Fantastic work.
The Candlelight gel stain is the one I prefer. Thank you Barry.
nice to see tools made of solid materials instead of plastic crap!!
Number 1 looks great
HEY THERE! Hope everything is fine up there...I was just thinking about what you were thinking about trying to match the cigarette burn on the table. It popped into my head to try pigments from a good set of neutral mineral-based EYESHADOWS! Why not? Not the cheapie ones, but ones from mineral based companies like Laura Geller or Bare Minerals brand, they will have higher qualities to them, may be more light fast. Get the brown based "nude" palettes for mix n match color tones. I think this might prove successful. Try it! ❤
Wow, I came from your furniture videos and wasn’t sure I’d like this but I did! I feel very happy seeing old things not tossed but restored and used again, thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love this! Other tool restoration videos use all sorts of fancy equipment and devices that a normal person could never possess. Your video makes me feel like it's within my reach. I am dedicated to repairing instead of replacing things that break, and have a shop full of older tools. I appreciate what you do (and you seem like a lovely person). Thank you!
I like one!
Do you have a source for a chuck for a Goodall and Pratt hand drill?
Thank you for the educational video and history of the Lane Company.
This is great. I just water ringed my coffee table bad from a poinsettia plant. fml. So im trying to see what im gonna do.

That is 1 Beautiful tool you have their now / lol // no really, it is a remarkable restoration👍👍
Out damn standing.
I have similar Stanley hand drill to restore but it is missing the jaws and springs in the chuck. Where can I find these parts. Any help will be appreciated
I like numbers 1 and 2. I suppose it would depend on the rest of the room. Did it hurt you a bit to do that? 😊 I do appreciate you sharing it. Very informative.
That egg beater drill came out great. I wished there was a way to take the chuck apart! I have a chuck which needs to be taken apart so i can put the springs back into the holes of the chuck wedge bits. Oh well.
#1 love the original look. I just bought a 1957 Lane Console with chips and spots but I am not brave enough to do a total refinish. What do you recommend for “spot restoration”? Thanks!
I like number 1. Thanks for the video and your commentary.

Very cool.
Sorry, I meant 1
Number 5
I love the bits of history you include…. hey, that company had a place in St. Catherine’s, Ont! Just down the highway from me!! Fantastic cleanup on this monkey wrench. Which gets me to thinking about the saying “throwing a monkey wrench into the works” ???
Barry that handle was a real bute I tell you and real bute! (Said like a gangster from the 30’s 😂) loved the music and the and the American flag 👍🏼🇺🇸❤️
I restored an entire fire extinguisher with flitz. It was hard work but beautiful. I love this channel Barry. Nice work
Tools that built America. And we’ve been watching on the History Channel Machines, Food, Snacks, Drinks etc that built America. Loved your content Barry on this channel. Love your other channel too. This is so relaxing and educational. Thank you for all that you putting these videos together. Much enjoy ❤️🇺🇸👍🏼
I love #1 and #5 is cool. Glad I finally remembered to go to this channel Barry. Very educational. Your gardens are so pretty 💐🪷🌺🌹🌸
Hello Barry, Love your content and how you explain your work. You do such a fine job on both. I feel like #1 is the winner for me. That one shows the grain off very well, along with the contrast.
Four is my favorite.

Enjoy videos on both your channels
No lead test on the paint? 👎 It's common for the paint of that time period to have lead in it. Proper disposal of toxic and/or hazardous materials is the responsible thing to do. But first you must identify whether or not you are dealing with hazardous materials...
