Hard Summoning Zeus is actually more common to do in Earth Machine than through its alternative method because Harvester and trains are easy 2 lvl 12 monsters, and if you're going to battle phase you're already won.
It happens very rarely but it does happen. Usually if you can do that you usually go for railcannons though.
I've done it a few times in virtual world as well with tzolkin + a level modulated shenshen
Also Gate Guardian can hard make Zeus with surprising consistency

Here's a history lesson: level 11 and 12 monsters existed long before level 10 monsters did. Gate Guardian was the first 11 and BEUD was the first level 12, given out as attendance cards and the first place prize card for a Japanese national tournament in summer 1999. The first level 10 monsters were the illegal Egyptian God Cards released as preorder bonuses for the fourth Yugioh game on the Game Boy Color in December 2000. The first LEGAL level 10 monsters weren't released until the Champion of Black Magic booster pack in September 2002 (the same set that introduced Spell Counters, for context) in the form of Koitsu and Ultimate Obedient Fiend.

You’ve got the village of humans being menaced by an endless horde of robots and their human-seeming overseers for no immediately obvious reason, you’ve got preposterously large weapons that are landmarks, a mentor figure and his younger sister who is also the protagonist’s girlfriend who later dies and sets off a whole revenge subplot, an alliance of a bunch of different fantasy races against the robot army, (SPOILERS)
...and all of it is on Earth or something like it, far into the future after a scientist with not necessarily bad intentions fucked up really, really badly.
theres a guiding character that ends betraying you, a previous party member using a gigant robot to fight, the protagonist drops death mid story, and becomes godly at the end, and reforms the whole world

I've done it a couple of times with the two Rainbow Dragon fusions, just for the flex.
1) Despite Cupid Pitch being generic it's part of the "Cupid" Archetype. Despite it adding anything with 600 defense you can add every piece of current support for the Cupid archetypes currently released. The Cupid archetype despite level manipulation they don't have a tuner so they cannot summon her.
Cupid pitch's gender is unclear. Every single person I ever spoke to about this thought long about it, compared their uniform to other cupid monsters and to real world jap ones and concluded he was a dude. You're my first one who sees a girl. I still can't be conviced by any side.

You only get 1 Normal Summon per turn (and effects to get additional ones are relatively few), which means Normal Summons are more special than Special Summons.
i was playing drytron on master duel yesterday (i know i'm coping) and i managed to summon herald and quadrantids, when i opened my extra deck i was FLABBERGASTED to see that i could summon zeus despite an xyz not battling that turn. 2 level 12s baby

Edit, to think about it, it might not be as stupid since you can have Zeus summon with number 27 then summon Zeus on top of previous Zeus by its own effect

The best strategy is actually reading your/your opponent’s cards.
Example- I play marincess and I can’t tell you how many matches I’ve won because my opponent attempted to pop a crystal-hearted Bubble Reef and didn’t even think to touch the field spell. No field spell, no win. But nobody knows that. Cuz they don’t read.

Ok, funny one. Because of beatrice's existence, "Dante" is an archetype and probably the smallest archetype in the game with only 2 cards in it.
Digital Bug is the sad one, despite being intended as archetypes, they never considered as one because there's no support that mention their archetype's name hence they are more like just bunch of insect with similar naming.
Mateireactor fits that bill too.

Most major characters in the first anime ran floodgates
Yugi had Slifer and Swords of Revealing Light, Kaiba had Crush Card Virus, Joey had Jinzo, Pegasus had Thousand-Eyes Restrict, Marik... well he had Slifer too

Of course they ran floodgates. The cards had little to no synergy with each other in the really early days, so each character in the show had to run stupid stall cards in order to waste enough turns to get the limited combo pieces together. Plus, there were no real OTK options in the anime, so it was inevitable that multiple turns would pass. It's the same reason for the prolific amount of draw cards.
I witnessed a psychopath hard make Zeus turn 1.
I know its 10 months late but in virtual world you can (or could, when MD just came out) bump shenshen to 12 and xyz zeus with ultimaya + shenshen as you can bring shenshen back next turn.
The Xenoblade note is correct. But it's also because a lot of JRPGs use a rather similar plotline to that.
Blue dragon had a similar plot too, but in the anime. the game plot was slightly different cause the girlfriend type character just wasn't added into the game and major plot points were completely removed
Yeah Xenoblade is the most one to one with the World Legacy lore. To the point where Avram just straight up says Shulk’s quote during the World Legacy Solo Gate.

Cyber harpie lady is the only effect monster without an effect. Its "effect" is that its treated as a harpie lady, but that isnt an effect that can be negated for example, because it is an innate mechanic in the name of the card. Summoned skull has the same mechanic in its naming and is a normal monster.
Edit, i have learned there are a few more, technically grinder golem doesnt have an effect lol.

@@Asim-nm1bc Why the hell is it an effect fusion? The only thing it has is a summon condition. At the very least, Cyber Harpie Lady does have text on it that changes the card itself... so, while it seems superfluous, it does have an effect. Mudball Man doesn't have an actual effect that changes anything about the card that would differ it from being a normal fusion monster.
@lo4tr yes the summoning condition counts as an effect. Otherwise it wouldn't have the condition. Also on the card is written "effect" (next to the type)
@@lo4tr the summon condition means you can only summon it from the extra deck. So if it gets sent to grave or banished you can't summon it. It's basically a nomi but as a fusion, which technically is an effect.
Red Eyes B. Dragon (Or Red Eyes BLACK Dragon) has a funny german misprint, due to it's shortend B in his name.
Our first version of this card was named "Rotäugiger Blauer Drache" which translate into "Red eyes Blue Dragon" :D
Just copy the German name and you find some of those in Google. :3

Technically sleeves are armor for cards. Since they are meant to protect the cards from damages.
Despite Yugi Boomers' complaints on hand traps they are almost exactly as old as the game itself with Kuriboh releasing in the 2nd TCG set.
Same with dd crow and effect veiler, those cards are older than most people watching this video.

@@Ragnarok540 effect veiler was probably the card that blurs the line between "whatever, who cares" hand traps of the early days that were mostly just battle tricks, versus the modern hand traps that say "no combo for you." d.d. crow kind of is also on that blurred line where it can be a blowout to certain strats like anything that needs the card to still be in the GY on resolution but it doesn't actually negate the effects. i think all the hand traps that came after those two have a power level that perfectly represents how power creep took over (well, at least, the hand traps that still see play in normal formats... retaliating "c" for example isn't exactly something I'd call high power level)
The end of trap cards being good was not necessarily just because of the speed of the game increasing, but more specifically due to change of making monsters have powerful responsive effects.
The end of trap cards was greatly exaggerated.
What actually happened was trap cards became searchable, so *generic* trap cards became less needed, alongside generic monster cards like Spirit Reaper.
But Salamangreat still plays Roar, PK still plays Fog Blade, Mathmech still plays Superfactorial etc.

The Wicked Worm Beast is a power-crept version of Spirit monsters despite being made way _before_ Spirit monsters.

Number 100: Numeron Dragon can be made using 2 "Number" Xyz Monsters with the same name and Rank instead of using Draglubion's effect. (I actually did this in Master Duel less than an hour before an XYZ event ended.)
There are gun-themed Dark-Attribute dragons that are not Dragon-Link monsters.
The Bandit Keith-related cards (Barrel, Desperado, Blowback, Gatling, and Twin-Barrel Dragon) fail to count because they are Machine-Types.
Not a single Zombie Normal monster exists above lv4 despite early Yugioh being *frought* with garbage high level Normal monsters. Also the Mcdonalds promo card "Yaranzo" has the highest DEF of any Zombie Normal monster at 1500.
Barely over half of all the Albaz fusions with "Dragon" in their name are actually Dragon-Types.
(Repectively, Mirrorjade, Brigrand, Rindbrumm, and Sprind are Wyrm, Beast, Winged Beast, and Machine-type. If it weren't for the recent release of Albion the Sanctifire, it would be an even 50/50 split of Dragons and non-Dragons.)
In the TCG/OCG Castle of Dark Illusions is a better Pumpking than Pumpking.
(Pumpking only increases Zombie Monsters' ATK by 100 during your Standby Phase and requires Castle to do so. Whereas Castle boosts by 200 and can do so without Pumpking at all.)
The Egyptian Gods (EGs) and Sacred Beasts (SBs) are both Gods that rule a certain realm:
EGs have protections and abilities in the manga and anime because they rule the fantasy realm.
SBs have more focused support that's stronger, are easier to summon, and actually have their big bungus combo bosses available worldwide in the TCG and OCG because they're the Gods of _our_ reality. EGs are weaker in the TCG and OCG because they're traveling to another realm attempting to exert their power, but are being suppressed by the Sacred Beasts. There's also the fact that SBs are based on Christian mythology, which is one of the biggest religions in the modern world, while Egyptian mythology is most influential in the anime and manga.
Most floodgates like Skill Drain, Rivalry, Gozen, etc. have been restricted in Master Duel because their presence in a best of one format is rightly considered unhealthy. This despite the fact that they're traps that have to be set, can bite their user in the ass if they can't get rid of them/build their deck around them, and have no way to search for them.
...But Rhongo Bongo... a monster that's nigh impossible to get rid of, is accessible from any time from the Extra Deck with the right materials, can keep its effects permanently with Sales Ban, can be cheated out with Numbers Eveil, and has one of the most oppressive floodgate effects in the goddamn game is at 3.
It's surprisingly easy to hard-summon zeus using a Level 10 Train, and an infinitrack that modulates levels so they're both level 12. There's no actual point in doing that though, it's just fun to do.
Primal Planet Kalarium changes the stats of Mannadium Riumheart, giving it the dubious honor of being a floodgate that floodgates its own archetype as now Riumheart is no longer an eligable target for visas support cards.

"Fire Formation" is technically a separate archetype from "Fire Fist", despite them being designed to support each other. The same applies with the "@Ignister" monsters and the "@.I." spell/traps, and with the "Amazement" monsters and the "Amaze Attraction" traps.
Same with cyber angels and machine angels
And "Monarch"...
It's an archetype of Spell and Traps that support monsters with le funni stats of 2400 or 2800 atk and 1000 def

-All YGO protagonists, aside from having ace monster, they also having their own battle traps, from DM to VRAINS respectively: Mirror force, draining shield, scrap-iron scarecrow, half unbreak, wall of disruption, three strikes barrier.
Yugioh capsule monster coliseum is the only yugioh game to feature both fusion and evolution as mechanics to upgrade your monsters, which means in a way it was just a precursor to pokemon infinite fusion.
Also, powered tuner is a non-tuner monster.

Predaplants before they got verte could be Abused the most with their insane fusion searching Abilities, but nobody has really used them because verte existed
? A lot of decks back in like 2016 were using 3 Scorpio+1 Cobra to search Brilliant Fusion as a starter.

Yu-Gi-Oh sometimes has cards that are references to other Konami games/franchises, but despite this, as far as I know, no other Konami game/media makes reference to Yu-Gi-Oh. This is strange because Konami famously loves to do references across their games such as Metal Gear, Castlevania, DDR, Contra, Silent Hill, Gradius, and tons of others. I am willing to be proven wrong though on this.
Can confirm as a Bemani gamer that there are no references to Yu-Gi-Oh found in any of the game series under that team.

Destiny Hero's are literally just british, they have Clock Tower Prison which is just Big Ben and the houses of Parliament, and if you blow up Parliament then PM Dreadmaster comes out with his 2 goons to beat you up, there's a few more D Hero cards that you can call british as well but that one is the biggest connection

Anyways, Nessie is from Scottish Folklore. The British have English Folklore for a reason. The earliest mention we have of Nessie is from the Sixth Century, long before Scotland was taken by the British (Thirteenth Century). You don't say the Thunderbird is from "United States" Folklore even though The USA has taken the lands of the people who believed in the Thunderbird. It's still a Native American creation, just like how Cath Palug is a Welsh addition to Arthurian Legend, not an "English" or "British" one. That's simply not how these classifications work.

Historically important archetype that paved the way for the now beloved TOSS format and even the popularity of Yugitubing. Trickstars were the precursors to establishing Sky Strikers into the meta game. Sky Strikers would then become the most winningest YCS deck of All Time. Propped Orcust at the peak of TOSS. Trickstars was also a deck that changed Yu-GI-Oh philosophy in deck building by being the first deck in the modern era that implemented the 9-15 handtrap/tech tempo based strategy that many decks would replicate. It halted the progress of Thunder Dragons and Gouki becoming Tier 0. Trickstars were at the forefront of players getting into Yu-Gi-Oh making the game popular after the early recent exodus of players leaving due to MR4. Also Trickstar videos were the first series of videos from Cimooo to pop off. It was the deck that got MBT to be hyperfocused into Yu-GI-Oh after he took his break. Trickstars shaped the meta of Yu-Gi-Oh and it's legacy can be seen in the recently very successful Vanquish Souls

Yeah, Konami’s issue is that they do it to sell cards but regular people either A) ban cards from good decks they don’t use, B) ban every recent good card, or C) both. Contrary to popular belief, people like it when cards are added to the game
I saw a comment somewhere else very similar to this that went something like:
“The only people worse than Konami at fixing YuGiOh are its fanbase.”
I think this also applies to custom card design, people who make their own support usually end up making even worse cards than Konami.
@@memeswithcringe1624 That's because the fundamental problems with Yugioh are based on how the game is played, not with specific cards. You'd have to run a banlist with over half the existing cards and then add a ton of erratas to get things into a decent state. Because there is no set rotation and we're dealing with such a large card pool, no matter what we try to do it will only account for a small portion of the bs people come up with.

This actually wrong. If you mean from original text, you are correct but Baby dragon and Joey's vanilla monster from the anime have all been errated to sound like him from the anime in Joey's collection.
