I know people joke about the twist at the end of the manga, but I actually prefer for the Yu boys being Yuya's brothers rather than his parallel dimensions counterparts, not only because it's almost impossible to mistake them from each other due to their hairs but also because seeing Yuya as the baby brother beloved by all of his older siblings is by far one of the most wholesome things in the Yu-Gi-Oh series.
dude manga is hroble form arc hwo you supart the yuzu being yuya mom carp that wood be like makeing tea yugi mother when that not how she was in the og it wood ruin it
In fairness to Yuya, his dad REALLY messed him up. A big part of the reason he has the emotional turmoil that nearly destroys the multiverse. “Yuya, any time you feel sad, force yourself to smile instead!” Was amazingly horrid, impossible advice to give a small child, and trying to live by it nearly breaks Yuya as a person.
Genuinely shocked how that doesn’t really factor much into yuyas character. Hell seeing Jack call out yuya for just mimicking his dad got me so excited for an arc that never happens
Yuya is my personal favorite Yu-Boy. It's a damn shame that the entire show could never give him the justice he deserved. I feel like people really sell his character short. The whole thing about his arc is that he starts to realise that his goal of wanting to make everyone smile is falling apart as the war goes on, and he starts to fall back onto the things he's criticizing throughout. Seeing him struggle with his inner purpose of being a Z-Arc counterpart along with with his dream of wanting to make everyone happy so that NO one has to fall into despair was heartwarming for me. But the series stopped really giving him much to work with, and shafted way too many of the other characters. Yuzu should NOT have had her last duel less than halfway in.
I really never understood the hate and still don't. Imo, it's a decent card with a nice design, it's effect is good but not really broken. I dislike entire archetypes more than just singular cards, like Yubel.
@@megafiend01 the issue was there weren’t many decks in master duel that can counter it at the time, on its release. And then it was used in adampicator rock deck to mill out millions of negates.
When people compare this to Zexal I always get severely angry because if you put the Barian arc next to the Fusion arc and go "yh, practically the same thing" then you need to see me and throw some hands.😂
ok but the synchro dimension was absolutely peak for arc V and is one of the best yugioh arcs out there. i feel like ur gonna disagree with me so here is my ratings of all time: 1) GX season 3 2) Dark signers arc 5Ds 3) battle city OG series 4) barian arc zexal 5) synchro dimension arc V. for me, 3-5 are interchangable as are 1-2. but the duels were absolute fucking hype. the themes of classism and rebellion were really well complimented and jack testing yuya's ideals was very appropriate for the message of that arc. entertainment is much more than a question of "just having fun" but also providing a meaningful medium for unity since everyone gets to collectively enjoy the same show/event. entertainment is a form of unity that allowed people to put aside their class differences for a second just to enjoy the duel between yuya and jack. ultimately, you dont need to be someone from "the tops" to be an elite level duelist, and yuya was able to show that through his entertainment dueling. any duels involving sora, yuzu (pre damsel status), sawatari, crow, and kurosaki were pure hype. i feel like the fan service for jack and crow was done much more justice than what we got to see for alexis and aster (their story arcs felt much more forced whereas the synchro dimension story arcs for jack and crow felt like much more of a natural homage to 5Ds).
@@rollsreus3862 Disagree? Man quit playing, the first half of the synchro arc was peak. Yugo is still my boy bro. When clear wings got summoned I genuinely screamed. Jack's villainous vibe also felt so refreshing in V. He felt like a different person entirely compared to how they portrayed Kaito (Kite) which was just the same in Zexal minus his little brother. But yh I agree. Synchro arc is top 5.
Dude I gotta say arc-v is in my top 5 yugioh series, but zexal is like top 3. They are both really good, there is no need to compare them, except that I found Dimensional dragons archetype really cool (even better than galaxy eyes, forgive me)
@@ZarctheCelestialDuelistIt never went downhill, especially since the first ten episodes are a borefest so anything else is an improvement. The rest of the series may be flawed, but the abusive Yuzu stuff is still all in the beginning, so making her a damsel is an upgrade to how she was in the beginning of the series. And the best character, Denis, only appears after they go to Synchro dimension. I agree Arc-V is the worst series, but for some reason people only like the worst part of it, where there are only boring duels and no plot. The worst main character is definitely Yusei for 5Ds. I dislike his stoic competent personality so much. Yusaku is better because he's mean at the beginning of the series and slowly softens. Yusei is a saint from the start.
Zarc was actually a cool idea like this Marik /bakura villian actually win and killed a lot of people. Such a threat and they had to seal this guy split him up. The idea of pendulum summoning was made because the villain never wanted to die looking for immortality. Where the monsters doesn't die but can be revived through pendulum summon from the extra deck
Even though zarc past design wasn't great like other villains but yuya zarc was cool and the whole battle Royale to beat the big bad was interesting. Yuya vs Yuri was really cool and I love it didn't matter who won 🔥❤
My biggest problem with zarc is that they call him the supreme king when the dude fucking loses it when he starts losing life points when the real supreme king can be reduced to 100 life points and tell you that if you don’t finish him this turn you won’t get a second chance
Arc-V in general needs to be rebooted for older Yugioh fans who grew up watching the master duel shows. How about making the Arc-V reboot canonicaly a sequel to the vrains anime where the Arc-V characters like Zarc and Yuzu for example can actually both Link and Pendulum Summon against their opponents since Pendulums weren't a thing in Vrains at all
@ZarctheCelestialDuelist Was I the only one disappointed Ai didn't one up the cast by saying "I set the Pendulum Scale!". Would work more thematically for Fire Phoenix.
Yuri was the biggest let down. They basically just said "He was always fucked up he just got the powers to act out his impulsive thoughts." Like WHY. Someone even made a theory that jadens soul got fused with his soul and yubel's influence made him messed up. Why not that?!
Yeah, I'm only loosely following it since I can't tolerate the game (esp since the menus lag hard for me) but I'm at least looking forward to them giving my troll son some semblance of closure to his character instead of "Well, now he's one of Yuya's brain ghosts and I guess he's cool now." Duel Links writers really out here doing their best to give a humane ending to these poor kids trapped in a Konami gashapon machine.
Honestly, it’s bad. We don’t even get to see the dialogue between characters when they meet up again. It’s just like, “Hey, how are things? Let’s duel!” Yeah. That’s a pretty good depiction of it.
@@DaydreamingDelusionsthe unlock events do have them catching up. There's even a running gag of everyone hoping and waiting for the others to make it in... except Yuri. They flat out won't even say his name anymore.
I honestly find the most annoying part of arc V was that the first season started off so good but when you think about it what made it good was that it was all set up. That was the purpose of it, it set up major plot points, mysteries, and characters. But when we get to the actual pay off it's a massive let down and in turn actually lessens season 1 quality for me because it made all that set up feel worthless upon a rewatch, knowing what it all leads to.
Same here on Yuya forcing his ideals on others without taking their situation into consideration, dude literally told Shun to smile after his sister and best friend had been erased, this persistence of Yuya really ruined Arc V for me, I thought it would be a Zexal kind of situation where the first half of the show isn't that good but then it picks up but no, only a few good duels and nostalgia bait in an overall disappointing show
Judai also had that problem, but he quickly realized life isn’t that simple. The entirety of S4 is him hating dueling and seeing it as a chore, and then getting back his love of dueling.
Yuya and the way the universe bends around him like a supermassive black hole of egao is for sure the poster boy of the show's unwillingness or inability to properly follow through on its darker themes like the previous series did, and Shun as the Lancer who was basically repping the serious parts of the show (not counting Layra but the show fucked them over too imo) got it really bad in the end. I wish they had let him actually beat the shit out of Leo (or hell!! just Duel him!!) before coming to terms with his loss in a less forced and Yuya-centric way but I guess the show had buried its head so deep that by the time it might have realized it was up its own ass it was far too late to pull out
i liked the earlier episodes becus it had bunch of old archetypes, mix of multiple summoning methods and focus on tribute summoning. it got worse as it went on tho
One critique on the video: The reason a ritual dimension doesn’t exist is because it’s not an extra deck summon The other 4 summons utilize the extra deck while ritual is through the main deck
For me, the main problem with arc v, aside from yuya and his forced "everyone has to smile and be happy" atitude and action cards being a essy get out of jail CARD for the writers, was the synchron dimension arc, it just took too long, by the time it ended, they barelly had any more time for the xyz and fusion dimensions, which were rushed, and also ended up killing the bracelet girls development. About sevens and go rush, they are pretty good if you look past the childish humor, really good themes, yuga is actually a good protag that doesnt really care about winning, even though he is a sore loser, and he loses quite a bit, dude literally said he was bored of yugioh and made his own format. Also, romin is treated very well for a girl deuteragonist, at least much better thsn all the other girl friends in the other yugiohs, with a well done arc for her. Go rush is still airing, so cant say much about it, one thing is for sure, the plot is crazy, both for good and bad reasons.
So far in go rush, as im watching it. Its off the wall, some of the plot is good, but tossing yuga in it felt unnecessary. It took the spotlight away from yudias and the ohdou twins. I love the idea of the monster cards accessing the real world through the earthdamar, which yuhi possessed. I just hope the earthdamar becomes important in this last season. Even though, i think its rushed. I still enjoy it.
The worst part about arc V is that it had the material in season 1 to be great, BUT ITS TERRIBLE. They should’ve leaned more towards the small school who needs funding plot rather than jumping to multiversal chaos, and made better use of the main dimension characters.
@@pn2294 I mean silvio had potential, having a ritual representative had potential, gem knights and X-sabers had potential. They weren’t anything spectacular but they had sick decks and could’ve been worked into doing something fun.
@@pn2294 they could’ve just made him stick with either yosenju or abyss actors, either work and would’ve still been very in line with the mechanics of the anime, just give him a redemption arc/duel in which he actually grows and thats already leagues better than what we got.
I actually really liked how he kept changing his decks. It’s funny cuz he blames his losses on his decks so he changes it every time. Him leaving off on abyss actors is not only fitting (cuz he’s a dueltainer) but also shows his character growth. One of the few reasons why he’s my 🐐
Is Multiverse variants have more personality than him and one of them is just an outright psychopath who was the personification of the "I am evil therefore gay" cliché
The pendulum stuff comes from them going to the extra deck face up versus not but there’s also somehow a window where they can go to the graveyard. Also if they’re used as XYZ materials. But yeah Raging Dragon being around all that smile stuff when it was Yuya’s berserk moment where he gonna kill mfs was definitely strange. The extra deck Pend monsters are also weird as a concept. Having to explain you can pend summon the XYZ ones because they have ranks not levels etc.
That guy at the 0:51 is the protag of Yu-Gi-Oh OCG Structures, its a manga series that focuses more on the competitive aspect of modern Yu-Gi-Oh where most of the characters don't always stick to one single deck and I love it, one chapter the MC is playing Virtual World vs Eldlich and the other he is playing Ursarctics vs pure Drytrons, pretty cool stuff I highly recommend it.
I think that few people really get Yuya. He forces the "I duel to make everyone happy." theme, slowly realising thats not the case. He slowly realises that he is dueling for his own pleasure and uses his "performer." identity as a scape goat to clarify himself. Idk about the english dub, but in sub he states it himself, calling himself a lier. He wanted to be like his father and make everyone smile, but that just wasnt him, making him the first Yu Gi Oh protagonist to actually be a hypocrite and a lier which I really like. Because he judges others for dueling for their own gain, but does it himself. And he slowly realises that. Its just that dub messed up a lot of things based on what my friend said when we talked about Arv V, because half the story telling was for some reason changed.
Out of the six series from DM to VRAINS, ARC-V was easily the worst, for all the reasons you mentioned. And yet, this series was what got me back into Yu-Gi-Oh after I stopped watching GX when I couldn't stand the dub anymore. Yes, the show was terrible, but I could see a good story trying to come out. I could see all the summoning methods be used in a show for the first time - yes, even rituals. And the duel between Shun and Sora? I'll die on a hill defending it as one of Yu-Gi-Oh's finest.
nah cause tbh i greq up w arc v and im a big fan of arc v BUT i can NEVER EVER get it when ppl GENEUINLY think zexal is worse than arc v like HELL NO zexal is on of the best ofc after 5ds gx and duel monsters it has really cool villans unlike arc v and no one wins there for plot and eveyone has charcter development and its really great overall

I'm disappointed how ARC-V came out. I don't like it nor hate it. Hell I don't believe it's the worst Yugioh series. It's disappointing how it had much potential and it got wasted. I can say I like Yuya as a protagonist but I didn't enjoy how he was written. The whole smile thing really is aggravating. I feel like he should've learned that "Smiling doesn't help with what happens in the world" or "Not everyone can be seen happy all the time. These types of duels are used for war or evil. Smiles don't bring back the people we love, Yuya. That's something you have to learn." Yeah I know it's not the best thing I wrote but I tried.
The worst part about this show is that it has the SINGLE most BALLER lore/concept ever - There's just something really sick about there being a dimension for each summon-type, it really feels like they went out of their way to show off everything that Yu-Gi-Oh was at that point in time and this was a really cool way of doing it. Shame the show sucks nards.
I love yugioh arc v so mucch to the story and etc it was really sad how it was rushed on top of that i think the dub is actually horrible and should be torture to sit though but the sub is probably the best way to watch it also yuya having a mental breakdown was pretty cool especially to the happiest character in all of the protagonists 😭 (also side note yuyas voice actor in the sub is Giorno Giovanna from jojo part 5)
Yuya's whole "I want to make people smile" thing would've made a lot more sense for the tone of the series if was him wanting to make them smile by saving them and helping them rebuild their lives after all the shit that happened instead of him just wanting to put on a show for them
The OST Music for the Sub of this Anime WAS AMAZING For ARC-V! It’s Just a Damn shame that this series didn’t take the Kingdom Hearts 3 Route with restoring the Bracelet Girls or YUYA’s Clones.
this video essentially confirms that i did not miss out on much after 5D's, i saw Zexal back when it came out and i was like "yeah nah i'm good" ever since then i've slowly been trying to get back into yugioh, i just have flashbacks of getting washed by my dads toon deck 💀
As someone who's been a yugioh fan for years watch them subbed you will save yourself dozens of videos explaining to you what the dub did wrong and how the story gets mudded up
I would recommend you still give Zexal a try. Particularly subbed. It starts poorly but it gets better and better as it progresses. @Urastinker Zexal is a top 3 YGO show for me along with 5Ds and the og Duel Monsters.
I feel like Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V had a chance to be extremely good. Imagine if they kept the plot of the main character trying to save his underfunded school by showcasing a mechanic never seen before (WAIT isn't that cheating?)
Arc v was a really missed potential. It could have been so good, but they messed up so hard. Once they got to the synchro dimension, it brought so much promise, but then after the synchro dimension, every other dimension was significantly less episodes in comparison. Synchro was supposed to be a build up but that somehow didn’t happen. It doesn’t help that in the entire show, Jack was my favorite character of all. Yuya was indeed the worst with the bring up of action cards and what was the point of bringing back turbo duel without the actually turbo duels.
Arc-V had the exact opposite progression curve from GX. It started off strong but then got progressively goofier and more outlandish until , by the end, you struggled to take the plot seriously. Especially when they jumped into the multiverse shenanigans, which COULD have worked if the characters weren't cardboard cutouts past their introductions Its just *"wasted potential"* the show.
The multiple dimensions gimmick was what got me interested in the premise of the show, but man did that get poorly used. Also, I'll never understand why fusion was chosen as the "supreme dimension" that invades and poses a threat to the other dimensions when it's so inconsistent. I feel like they could've done better with making the XYZ dimension the major threat, especially with how easy it is to special summon and make their monsters. Could've been a great opportunity to use the concept of evil Crow as well.
Fusion was the main antagonist because its the "purest" summoning mechanic being the only one there from the jump, they're Yugiboomers, it's not subtle
@@Disco-Skuxx I understood that it was a "toxic nostalgia" critique it was going for, but it doesn't really make too much sense narrative and commentary wise, seeing as fusion is impractical and as such harder to believe they could conquer several dimensions without bricking every other match in comparison to any other extra deck style of the time, and that the critique itself doesn't really fit well in Yugioh, seeing as most nostalgia heavy players either quit or play in their own format. They're more salty than actually toxic. The toxic player is more often playing the most expensive deck of the newest mechanic due to its ease to use rather than the rogue player who's desperately trying to remain relevant in the format.
@@decarabiaumbra560you dont know how special fusion summoning is do you? They are the only two summoning mechanic who can use face-down monster as material that includes contact fusion, they also can use material from the deck. The other summoning method with the same priveledge is ritual summon.
@sigmaenjoyer7020 I'll grant these are useful as a fusion user myself, but I find it's too suseptible to disruption and bricking due to the typical 3 card minimum.
Hating on ArcV is so normalized to the point if you told somebody that ArcV is your favourite show; you're pretty much beyond helping. Man it sucks to be that one guy who genuinely enjoyed it for the most part Edit: I just finished the video, Damn; bro pretty much hated almost everything in the show💀
@@moh.syafrianabie8899 Being a fan of show you didn't like anything about except like for like 2 characters is something my brain can not even comprehend And craziest thing is that some of (if not half of) his negative points apply to almost all the other shows💀
@@omermohammad1336 I mean it is my favorite one, my list is Arc-V, 5DS and Zexal, I found Vrains sorta mid, I liked Blue Angel and Soul burner, and other side characters.
I have so many problems with Arc V and it sucks because I wanted to like it when it aired, especially after the amazing run Zexal had. I will say my only real positive thing to say as there are way to many negative things I could talk about, is the fact that Yuzu is cute, and I love Melodious.
Basically Happy Science Cultist who, fittingly enough, uses a carnival themed deck is actually a part of an Eldritch Dragon king. There, that's Yuya summed up.
00:51 Shouma Yusa, protag of the "ocg structures" manga, it doesn't have any anime with it because aside from duel disk's and hologram cards it's realistic.
Hey man I'm really sorry to hear you grew up with ARC-V, no child deserves to go through that. It helps if you think of the show as just some really experimental avant garde postmodern adaptation of the Emperor's New Clothes where nobody actually points out the emperor is naked and Yuya's dueltaining has no fucking leg to stand on. But nah fr I actually really liked him as a character, and then I watched the show. So now I just feel bad for him for how poorly they executed him and his concept. Idk I guess in a way he really was a vessel for the complete destruction of the universe in the end
My main problem with ARC-V is that the other protagonists just did not appear in this show for some reason. Having them as Yuya’s counterparts would have been infinitely more interesting.
Yuya is my favorite yugioh protag because he's just screaming at everyone that it's just a childrens card game and you shouldn't take it seriously, until people force him to get serious and suddenly it's all "chill brah we were just playin!" Also, I dont get why everyone is bagging on yuya for being the smile merchant. Everyone was doing it: His mom literally beat him down because he was sad about not having a dad anymore, his dads only form of child support was a crappy field spell that added crayon smiles everywhere, everyone in town turned on him because he went rage mode on purple yamcha (who was LITERALLY attacking him on national tv), Jack kept calling him an idiot because he was sad his girlfriend was being held hostage, it went on and on.
They killed Yuto/Ute early because he was the Protagonist that the fans Wanted and Needed but he isn't and we got Yuya. They thought it would help make people like Yuya but it just made them hate him more.
Funniest part is that the whole "monsters have real mass" isn't even new. Both DM and GX did something similar at multiple points. Tho the idea of being able to interact with your enviorment and/or dodge attacks, more like an actual *fight* , was cool ngl.
Watching someone who is almost an adult get mad about a show made to promote a children’s card game, makes me proud as a grown adult who does the same thing.
Now in my honest opinion, I liked Arc v while I do agree that the director shouldn’t have kept rehashing shit from 5Ds (even though I loved 5ds) and that the ending was rushed. Now Yuya as a MC, while he wasn’t the best MC because all the MCs got their ups and downs but I did liked on how he a was a bit different. I think the show would have been better if it was longer but that wasn’t going to be the case since the DSOD movie and Vrians along with Link monsters coming out. Arc V as a whole had awesome characters, moments, and my favorite archetypes of all types so I think it was an okay series not the best but not terrible either
I happen to be an expert on this topic with being in Japan while the show was airing and all that, so I agree, Yuuya is the worst YGO MC, and I survived Yuma being a retard for almost half the show and Yusei being boring jesus, so let me say some stuff some people might not know, first both Yuuya and Reiji's seiyuu were pretty expensive back then, hell both of them were a kinda popular 'couple' as far as seiyuu are concerned, but leaving that aside, oh boy, I'm sure most people know this but Arc-V after the standard arc became a shitshow, you see, after that arc ended the production for the movie DSOD went into full swing and since it's pretty much the same studio, Gallop, they were juggling between both the movie and the show itself, of course the studio went all in with the movie so the show itself got peanuts which is why Reiji barely appears on the Synchro arc and why the characters stay on rooms barely interacting with each other, it doesn't help how both 5D's and Arc-V both shared the same main director, Katsumi Ono, so he thought it was a good idea to keep the main cast on the Synchro dimension so he could keep referencing his old show and bringing his beloved Crow, because people didn't have enough of him on 5D's. Now, people in Japan were complaining about Synchro arc being a rehash from the first one but they kept giving the show a chance, until episode 92 or how we called it bracelet cockblock, thanks to that episode fans went against the show to the point it became one of the worst rated show in NND's history, this had an effect on the staff who were pretty tired from having to work their hardest on the movie AND the show so on the Fusion arc it feels like the staff stopped trying anymore, shit was so bad that Z-Arc's design wasn't ready until the episode he debuted and that's why he appeared as a silhouette until his debut, it doesn't help how some seiyuu like Asuka's one came back from retirement just to get Super Poly'd which many fans of Gx felt it was disrespectful which made the popular opinion of Arc-V reaching bottom of the barrel, the worst part is that Fusion arc wasn't only bad but it looked like shit because by the time the movie production ended, they had a small window of like a month or two before they started to work on Vrains, so yeah, fuck Arc-V and fuck EmEm. Oh yeah, also people should give Sevens a chance, it was a fun show.
I remember hearing that some animators quit after Arc-V but I didn’t know why until now. It sucks because I actually liked the DSOD movie but knowing it’s technically the reason behind the production quality of Vrains being so bad is depressing asf. At least I know why the synchro arc was long as hell 😭
Yeah, I heard about the production juggle (making Arc V and Dark Side of Dimensions) but never know about the voice actors issues. (Yuya and Reiji va being expensive and Asuka's VA got out of retirement only for her character to be carded. That's f-¢k up.) Also yes Sevens is fun and I love it with all of my soul.
This show needs a proper reboot with Zarc being 1 of the main protagonist alongside both Yuya and Yuzu. I mean for God sakes both Zarc and Yuzu have some recently good cards that actually go well together
1. yuma is not a retard. His growth is unmatched throughout all main characters of all yugioh shows. How is kid naruto being praised but not early yuma? Yuma like kid natuto wears a mask to hide his sorrow. You see it in the first episodes when he loses his emperor key and you see it again when he duels III. What's wrong with a teenager being sad about his parents vanishing. It's worse than death. I can tell you because I experienced it. Yuma like kid naruto also does dumb stuff to get negative attention because they think it's better than being ignored? They are insanely similar in their beginnings. People also somehow roast yuma for dueling with astral but yugi gets respected for leaving most of the stuff to atem. It's not like yuma started as a terrible duelist while yugi was already very competent as a duelist. So isn't it worse that yugi leaves stuff to atem, especially of the first season has his grandpa's life at risk? 2. People have this image of yusei being flawless despite him having more psychological issues than one can count. That's rooted in the fandoms believe that duels are everything. That's why female characters are viewed so negatively. Being a duelist who never loses onscreen does not make yusei mr. perfect. Like yuma, yusei wears a mask. Yusei feels at guilt for his fathers actions. Vs rudger he really loses it for the first tike and asks how jack and crow can even hang out with him after his father's actions robbed them of a happier life. He thinks he does not deserve them as friends. He becomes even more desperate and asks asks how he can make up for it because he himself does not know. You say he is like jesus. In some way he is but he is a twisted version. Yusei is ready to give his life at any time to atone. Not being able to atone is the ultimate sin to him. Also him being named after the planetery gear which leqd to the creation of the Ener-D makes his fathers actions a constant reminder to him. It's how z-one becomes a villain. The scienist recreated yusei's consciousness using historical data. Why? Because in his future yusei is seen as a messiah which is wrong and it's the scienists downfall. In some way z-one thinks of yusei as the western fans do. Idk about eastern fans. Z-one planted copies of his friends consciousnesses on robots. Those consciousnesses took over. The show expects you though to view aporia and antinomy not as robots but the original selfs. How else does aporia's story have any weight if we viewers don't believe he did live through the dystopia in the future? In z-one case it's not a robot but he himself was the vessel for yusei's consciousness. He reaches divine possession using science because in yugioh science and magic are very similar. Kaiba copies the power of prana allowimg him to protect himself and mokuba from aigami's cube. It also allowed him to summon obelisk. Revolver can steal other people's consciousnesses using science just like the seal of orichalcos can. "Yusei" takes over the scienist and fails to save the future. Fans always say they would have liked to see yusei being z-one in order to see how a "flawless" guy like him could become the big bad. We basically got that. Z-one is as close to yusei as one can get. As we know z-one fails to atone and therefore commits the ultimate sin in his eyes. Add the fact that he is the last human on earth. So he becomes the main villain of the show who was ready to kill millions for the greater good. All so he can atone and die. There is a lot to yusei's character but it's conveyed in subtle way. 5D's is very subtle. You see that with jack as well. Yusei's growth is realizing that others are just as competent as him and that he doesn't have to save others, that he doesn't have to atone for his fathers sins. Quaser literally symbolizes yusei being the one who gets saved. It consists of all signer dragons that aren't his and at the core you have rua's, the one of the signers yusei would have felt the biggest urge to save in the past. When quaser gets destroyed shooting star appears and through clustering wishes stardust appears after shooting star gets destroyed. So yusei is being led since stardust embodies him. Why do you think is antinomy's death so powerful? It's the first time someone saves yusei. Antinomy also tells yusei to save z-one because he knows that z-one became yusei. So with saving z-one yusei can also save himself. That was antinomy's thought. Bruno's first appearance really shows how yusei is wearing a mask. Crow says he does not recognize yusei and that he didn't talk as much with yusei as bruno did in one night. That's the shows way of telling that yusei is wearing a mask for a overwhelming majority of the show. We could go deeper with yusei's character. How he has no self esteem, how he views friendship as a duty...As I said there is alot to his character. 3. DSOD did not heavily impact arc v. This is one of the many wrong "facts" that are rooted in the yugioh fandom. To copy what a user wrote on reddit: "this is the only credited staff shared between the two: Concept Design (DSoD) Main Creature Design (Arc-V) Creature Design (DSoD) Handa Seiji 1-30 Sound Direction Matsuoka Hiroki Art Direction Nakamura Takashi 1-49 Producer Jitsumatsu Teruaki (General producer in Arc-v) Episode Direction Mutou Kimiharu 2, 13, 22, 32, 41, 49, 57, 65, 75, 94, 103, 113, 122, 131, 140, 147. Animation Direction Toyoda Akiko 14, 25, 33 Kobayashi Kazuyuki 67(Key animation in DSoD) Kojima Eri 70, 78, 87(Key animation in DSoD) So basically, dsod should have done nothing to arc-v other than maybe crunch or delays in production, not the quality of the story." 4. this whole "characters cards are popular" stuff is wrong. Neo specians and cyber darks remained despite being way less successful than e-heroes and cyber dragons. Why? Because the main writers prioritize their work of fiction over about the marketing. Imagine neo specians being written out after season 2, the cards judai's ace can fuse with. Super sentai and kamen rider do the same. Like yugioh they advertise their products in their shows. You think the main writers of a sentai season called Donbrothers, a man called Inoue, cared for marketing. After all sentai's sales have been declining heavily for years at that point. Kyuranger aired 2017 and made 9.3 billion yen. Zenkaiger aired 2021 right before donbrothers and made 4.2 billion yen. Kamen rider usually makes over 20 billion to give a reference. So you have a serious decline within a few years in sentai. Numbers have to go up again. So you would think donbrothers, which used a similar version to the most popular and successful anniversary gimmick, despite it not being a anniversary season (which shows desperation), would abuse that gimmick to market the hell out of it. Yet he pretty much dropped the main gimmick in the first episodes already of a 45+ episodes season. He wasn't fired by the way. Main writers mainly do what they think benefits their story. Sure they have to do some marketing related stuff in their shows but it's no priority for them. Kiryu's archetype was the most popular one behind crow's of all 5D's characters. Yet he did not get much screentime after the dark signers arc. He got one mediocre arc. Gouki and trickstars were replaced for season 2 of vrains despite being meta in their time. Jack and crow were good choices for arc v because they embody the different philosophies that existed in the synchro dimension. Jack got 3 duels vs yuya, one vs sergey, one vs BB and one vs zarc. Crow got one vs gon, shun, yuya and zarc. If you want, count the one vs BB where we only saw the end. So jack had more onscreen duels than crow. Jack is basically the rival reiji should have been since he challenged yuya also on a character level and not only as a duelist. Kaito dueled vs gon and shingo, vs yuya, shun, dennis, diana, yugo and yuri and zarc. Didn't even count the one where he enters late vs the obelisk force which unlike crow's BB duel was one that was shown onscreen fully. Those are 7 duels withoit counting the last one I named. Arc V failed because it was to ambitious. It set up tons of amazing stuff but they didn't have their story ready from the beginning. Look at the creation of pendulum. Zarc says he created pendulum to counter Ray which basically translated into countering the EN cards, yet pendulums only avoid the effect damage. Pendulum monsters are still getting destroyed and send to the extra deck and if you summon them again the EN cards send them back again and this keeps going. Zarc's trap supreme king brutality is a much better counter since it kills the opponents hand. Can hardly play 4 cards if zarc plays a card which allows him to send multiple cards at once of the opponents hand to the grave. zexal season 1 has it's flaws, Iam not going to deny this but it cannot be disputed that sets up season 2 well and that's not a given in yugioh. The reason arc v failed is one that many franchises share. Pretty little liars, gossip girl...
@@mariowarion Damn...that was long but really well put together. A lot of people like @Penbin123 dont understand anything about Yusei or Yuma characters but I am glad that there are people like you who truly pay attention to these characters!
Crossover seasons seem to have that Decade curse such as Digimon Xros Wars and Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, but there are cases of successful crossovers like Gokaiger though.
Arc V is the only Yugioh show that I wanted the rebooted treatment the most. Yugioh Arc-Z (my name for the Arc-V reboot) is more akin to the Arc-V manga but it improves it alot like 1. Zarc is actually 1 of the secondary protagonist alongside his son Yuya 2. Making Zarc the Yu-Boy's father while Yoko is their mother 3. Give all Yu-Boys their own pendants/necklaces and not just Yuya 4. Making Yuzu an excellent duelist and a goal in her life 5. Giving Zarc and Leo the Goku and Vegeta treatment (with Yuya and Reiji being their Goten and Trunks) 6. Eve is Yuya and Yuzu's daughter from the future 7. All characters have their updated support cards like links 8. Alternate Dueling styles like Seasons 0 and 1
I know this series has a lot of flaws, but it's still probably my favorite series. I do agree that Shingo and Selena were amazing but wasted. Frankly I'd love to see all the Arc-V characters in a non duel setting. Like a performing arts Anime, would be so entertaining.
*What really grinds my gears about this Yugioh series is......* There are over 20 different types of monsters (two of these types are highly exclusive) and they made his signature monster card a DRAGON! Come on man, Yusei already did that!
Sucks because my favourite archetype (Raidraptor) is from this era. A reboot isn’t enough, it needs a full rewrite. And I’d argue the professor was more of an idiot than Yuya ever was. Unnecessary cruelty, terrorism, secrecy, the works. And suddenly he turns over a new leaf and doesn’t answer for his crimes like a hypocrite despite all the buildup painting him as pure evil? Do the writers not know how to see something through to the end!
I was so sad there was no ritual dimension would have been a great opportunity for ritual support, instead some random ritual bossmonsters for different archetypes during the era. There’s a fan theory why we don’t see the previous mcs although we see their friends: they merged with their respective fractions of Zarc into the naive yugi muto like mc his fucked up jadenyubelfusion counterpart etc.
The plot is actuall garbage as well. The Doctor HAD the means to stop Z-arc and yet didn't do so. Think right. If the Villain is able to revive by his reincar actions dueling, Would it not make sense that his Daughter could be revived the EXACT same way?
The concept of Arc V of being almost like a "Greatest Hits" seemed like a good idea in theory. But, they spent way too much time in the Synchro dimension and focusing on a tournament there while an actual dimensional merge was imminent. The ending felt really rushed and didn't really provide any conclusions or epilogues to certain storylines like, did the XYZ dimension ever recover/rebuild?
Yuya forcing everyone to smile is insanely out of place in a show with WAR and GENOCIDE as major plot points. Watching Yuya force everything and everyone to smile and laugh INCLUDING the Fusion Dimension war criminals gives me mood whiplash.
He's an entertainer who is experiencing war for the first time. His whole point is that violence and hate only makes a cycle and he has consistently made it his point to resolve conflicts as peacefully as he could so that no one has to get hurt. It makes perfect sense that he'd want everyone to smile. And no he didn't "force" people to do it.
@@ImfernusRizen And yet Yuya is still a complete failure at it. Jack really demonstrated how to bring entertainment and rallied everyone in the city despite their difference when he fought Sergei. Even Judai as a cheeful duelist who wants to enjoy dueling does a much better job as a character because he is well aware of when a situation requires him to be serious. Yuya on the other is too bone-headed to see this.
do you want to know what pissed me off about this show? thats right. the lack of development for shay and lulu (or shun and ruri, but i remember their names through the dubs). the thing is, shay is good. i like shay. i like how he wants to get his sister back. but, the problem is this: the show does not give five shits about showing how their relationship is like, or how it was before the heartland invasion until a gazillion episodes after. there was nothing that could make me care about lulu, but i still did anyway because shes my favorite out of the bracelet girls despite her lack of characterization. im mad that she specifically was done dirty because her and shay would have been the most tragic characters due to their circumstances, and i would have loved to see more of her: How she dueled, how she acted around others, how she was around yuto or her own brother. But nope! the writing department fucked over and died, thus leading them to throw her AND shay out of the window. as a kid, i loved shay, and i was basically desperate for him to reunite with his sister, and i was DESPERATE to see what she looked like. i got so bored of having to wait that i had to look her up, instantly became my favorite bracelet girl. but, unfortunately i dropped yugioh arc v because it was too long and i realized that um... the writing was ass. also, im also upset because they didnt explore yuto and lulu's relationship further because they had such good potential to be an excellent ship, and it would give yuto more of a motive if you understand what I mean. god, do i love the yugioh writers---the most incompetent beings i've ever seen.
Arc-V having flaws is obvious, but making a main character genuinely annoying is not a good way to get people to watch the show. As much as I have nostalgia for Arc-V, I would have killed to see Yuto or Yugo be the protagonist (Yuri gets to stay as an antagonist, obviously) because they feel like they're characterised in a realistic way. Yuto's home was turned into a warzone, and sure he's serious, but deep down he doesn't want to fight. Yugo wants to get out of the slums and save the girl he loves. And Yuri's unhinged because he's been manipulated and has no real connections to anyone but the professor, and the professor only sees him as a tool Genuinely hearing Yuma be called annoying by most people irks me, because as much as I grew up with Arc-V, I genuinely find Yuya even more annoying than Yuma. Yuma has an excuse. He's an 11 year old kid and Kattobingu does actually grow on you. Yuya's smile philosophy does not. There is a reason Yuto, Yugo and Yuri are characters I prefer over Yuya - They feel realistic for their situations Any of the other Yu-Boys would have been better than Yuya as the protagonist, I feel Yuto would have been best for the role. Have him learn to Synchro summon and even start getting over his hatred of all fusion summoners through Yuzu as well as seeing how they can be used in Standard, maybe even have him summon one of the Odd-Eyes fusion monsters once or twice. Have him teach Sawatari to XYZ summon (I actually feel XYZ would have worked with Abyss Actors in a way, and I didn't want to repeat Synchro or Fusion being taught to Gongenzeka or Yuzu for him) The show could have gone in so many different directions but it chose what it did, and while at times it was fun (Seeing Kaito kick ass with one of the most underpowered decks to exists gets a kick out of me every time) it was very underwhelming compared to everything else
Tbh, arc v fumbled Serena so fucking hard, like she could have been better then aki….. a war child who wants to prove herself at first, but she learns the horrors of what she is fighting for and joins the good guys? I know people joke about the twist at the end of the manga, but I actually prefer for the Yu boys being Yuya's brothers rather than his parallel dimensions counterparts, not only because it's almost impossible to mistake them from each other due to their hairs but also because seeing Yuya as the baby brother beloved by all of his older siblings is by far one of the most wholesome things in the Yu-Gi-Oh series.

Yea honestly, he should have never followed his father advice, he would have been better off without it-
Tfw Yusho is low-key the worst YGO dad.
Genuinely shocked how that doesn’t really factor much into yuyas character. Hell seeing Jack call out yuya for just mimicking his dad got me so excited for an arc that never happens
That’s your own fucked up interpretation. Yuya Dad is the reason Yuya didn’t turned out like Zarc as he is the main entity.
Yeah and his mom didn’t help she literally had a duel with Yuya to get him to not be harsh in Sora someone who helped commit mass genocide
I still like yuya. But yuto had it worst

ok but the synchro dimension was absolutely peak for arc V and is one of the best yugioh arcs out there. i feel like ur gonna disagree with me so here is my ratings of all time: 1) GX season 3 2) Dark signers arc 5Ds 3) battle city OG series 4) barian arc zexal 5) synchro dimension arc V. for me, 3-5 are interchangable as are 1-2. but the duels were absolute fucking hype. the themes of classism and rebellion were really well complimented and jack testing yuya's ideals was very appropriate for the message of that arc. entertainment is much more than a question of "just having fun" but also providing a meaningful medium for unity since everyone gets to collectively enjoy the same show/event. entertainment is a form of unity that allowed people to put aside their class differences for a second just to enjoy the duel between yuya and jack. ultimately, you dont need to be someone from "the tops" to be an elite level duelist, and yuya was able to show that through his entertainment dueling. any duels involving sora, yuzu (pre damsel status), sawatari, crow, and kurosaki were pure hype. i feel like the fan service for jack and crow was done much more justice than what we got to see for alexis and aster (their story arcs felt much more forced whereas the synchro dimension story arcs for jack and crow felt like much more of a natural homage to 5Ds).
Totally different
Dude I gotta say arc-v is in my top 5 yugioh series, but zexal is like top 3. They are both really good, there is no need to compare them, except that I found Dimensional dragons archetype really cool (even better than galaxy eyes, forgive me)
Arc-V went downhill as soon as Yuzu lost to Sergei and became a token Damsel in Distress.
I'm pretty sure it went downhill once the characters got to the Synchro Dimension

Don't forget declan is forced to accept his deadbeat dad and mom wasn't thst good either
Also yuma had a much better look on friendship, see his speech in the WDC to shark and quattro, and about the barians
the ending is SO bad that duel links decided to just roll with it and make it's own ending instead...
One critique on the video:
The reason a ritual dimension doesn’t exist is because it’s not an extra deck summon
The other 4 summons utilize the extra deck while ritual is through the main deck
Man, I love Romin But I hate Luke so much. He got to duel more than others and the show want to ship him with Romin. It make me sick.
Nah. Season one was a whole lot of nothing.

I'll die on a hill defending it as one of Yu-Gi-Oh's finest.
hell no arc v kick shitr vrains at last main charatew cna lsoe in arc v but crian he never lost
It got the shittiest story but u gotta agree that the dimension dragons are the coolest ace monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh
nah cause tbh i greq up w arc v and im a big fan of arc v BUT i can NEVER EVER get it when ppl GENEUINLY think zexal is worse than arc v like HELL NO zexal is on of the best ofc after 5ds gx and duel monsters it has really cool villans unlike arc v and no one wins there for plot and eveyone has charcter development and its really great overall

Biggest "yeah, about that..." of the millenia, dont you agree?
I'm disappointed how ARC-V came out. I don't like it nor hate it. Hell I don't believe it's the worst Yugioh series. It's disappointing how it had much potential and it got wasted.
I can say I like Yuya as a protagonist but I didn't enjoy how he was written. The whole smile thing really is aggravating. I feel like he should've learned that "Smiling doesn't help with what happens in the world" or "Not everyone can be seen happy all the time. These types of duels are used for war or evil. Smiles don't bring back the people we love, Yuya. That's something you have to learn."
Yeah I know it's not the best thing I wrote but I tried.
He's a spoiled kid who got this forced on him. Ofc he's gonna act that way
I do remember the Gem Girl because she was Yuzu's rival and the Moon Ninja guy actually saved her from Academia
Built different? You mean built yesterday.
4:44 I love that you censor the curse word with the sound effect that plays when lifepoints drop, top tier editing.
Arc V’s biggest issue was just that it was trying to do way too much.
Makes one appreciate how Duel Links gave the 4 Bracelet Girls a good ending there.
It’s like the opposite of zexal while zexal majorly improved as it went on arc v just gets majorly worse
I KNEW I WASNT TRIPPING. Now I can’t help but imagine him saying golden experience
Yuya's whole "I want to make people smile" thing would've made a lot more sense for the tone of the series if was him wanting to make them smile by saving them and helping them rebuild their lives after all the shit that happened instead of him just wanting to put on a show for them
The best part of arc five can be summed up in on sentence: GONGS HEAVYSTRONG STYLE IS THE FUTURE OF DUELING
What is interesting to me is, in my opinion.
The returning characters weren't at their peak without their Jaden & Yusei.
@Urastinker
Zexal is a top 3 YGO show for me along with 5Ds and the og Duel Monsters.
@@Yiasi_G yah its a slow start in the first season but once kite shows up it slowly gets better.
Season 3 of Zexal was insanely good
That last line cracks me up, I'm just thinking about your dad dressed up like Pegasus and mocking you in the fruity accent
I feel like Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V had a chance to be extremely good. Imagine if they kept the plot of the main character trying to save his underfunded school by showcasing a mechanic never seen before (WAIT isn't that cheating?)
7:35 Missed opportunity to call it odd
The idea of Sylvio and Celina being the main characters is my favorite thing ever now
The sevens dub also didn't even try to make an opening song. Just some music that personally I don't even think is that good, and that's about it
Arc v was a really missed potential.
Especially when they jumped into the multiverse shenanigans, which COULD have worked if the characters weren't cardboard cutouts past their introductions
Its just *"wasted potential"* the show.
What do you mean, the first 50 episodes were fantastic. It's such a shame the rest of the series got cancelled because of the DSOD movie!
Bonds beyond time movie was the reason season 4 of 5ds suffered
The only good thing about the dub was bringing back the 5D's OST for Jack's duels.
They brought back crows og va
@@decarabiaumbra560Easy, they all brought full power ishizu tear and blitzed the xyz dimension to stop them from all investing in full power zoodiac.
Arc v fans are the only kind of fans who actively hate the thing they're fan of more than the haters.
Hating on ArcV is so normalized to the point if you told somebody that ArcV is your favourite show; you're pretty much beyond helping.

It might have something to do with the fact that ARC V is actually bad lol
@@omermohammad1336 I mean it is my favorite one, my list is Arc-V, 5DS and Zexal, I found Vrains sorta mid, I liked Blue Angel and Soul burner, and other side characters.
I have so many problems with Arc V and it sucks because I wanted to like it when it aired, especially after the amazing run Zexal had. I will say my only real positive thing to say as there are way to many negative things I could talk about, is the fact that Yuzu is cute, and I love Melodious.
Only for her to become a damnsel in distress all because the show wanted to only focus on Yuya

Basically Happy Science Cultist who, fittingly enough, uses a carnival themed deck is actually a part of an Eldritch Dragon king. There, that's Yuya summed up.
"Shingo should be the main character."
I never expected to hear this take, but you got a like for it!
Am i only one who loved this series
Nah man me too, in the end it's all up to your own opinion to enjoy the show
No I'm with you there.
I liked it to
It is actually my favourite anime.😅
@psychodust1070 yeah me too friend
My main problem with ARC-V is that the other protagonists just did not appear in this show for some reason. Having them as Yuya’s counterparts would have been infinitely more interesting.
Arc v would have been peak if all previous mc's of yugioh made an appearance in Arc v
Yuya is my favorite yugioh protag because he's just screaming at everyone that it's just a childrens card game and you shouldn't take it seriously, until people force him to get serious and suddenly it's all "chill brah we were just playin!"
Also, I dont get why everyone is bagging on yuya for being the smile merchant.
Keep in mind the in the manga Yuya is the time traveler how goes backs in time and somehow gets his mom Zuzu or grandma to fall in love with him.
They killed Yuto/Ute early because he was the Protagonist that the fans Wanted and Needed but he isn't and we got Yuya. They thought it would help make people like Yuya but it just made them hate him more.
Great to see im not the only one who would prefer yuto as the protagonist
Funniest part is that the whole "monsters have real mass" isn't even new. Both DM and GX did something similar at multiple points.
Tho the idea of being able to interact with your enviorment and/or dodge attacks, more like an actual *fight* , was cool ngl.
Remember when the anime was about egyptian mythology pepperidge farm remembers

That's f-¢k up.)
Also yes Sevens is fun and I love it with all of my soul.
To copy what a user wrote on reddit: "this is the only credited staff shared between the two:
Concept Design (DSoD) Main Creature Design (Arc-V) Creature Design (DSoD) Handa Seiji 1-30
Sound Direction Matsuoka Hiroki
Art Direction Nakamura Takashi 1-49
Producer Jitsumatsu Teruaki (General producer in Arc-v)
Episode Direction Mutou Kimiharu 2, 13, 22, 32, 41, 49, 57, 65, 75, 94, 103, 113, 122, 131, 140, 147.
Animation Direction Toyoda Akiko 14, 25, 33 Kobayashi Kazuyuki 67(Key animation in DSoD) Kojima Eri 70, 78, 87(Key animation in DSoD)
So basically, dsod should have done nothing to arc-v other than maybe crunch or delays in production, not the quality of the story."
4. this whole "characters cards are popular" stuff is wrong.

2. Making Zarc the Yu-Boy's father while Yoko is their mother
3. Give all Yu-Boys their own pendants/necklaces and not just Yuya
4. Making Yuzu an excellent duelist and a goal in her life
5. Giving Zarc and Leo the Goku and Vegeta treatment (with Yuya and Reiji being their Goten and Trunks)
6. Eve is Yuya and Yuzu's daughter from the future
7. All characters have their updated support cards like links
8. Alternate Dueling styles like Seasons 0 and 1
"I thought action cards were real" some are, just infinity worse
I know this series has a lot of flaws, but it's still probably my favorite series. I do agree that Shingo and Selena were amazing but wasted. Frankly I'd love to see all the Arc-V characters in a non duel setting. Like a performing arts Anime, would be so entertaining.
One of greatest in thing in arc v is raging eyes uses in sub. That was gas.
Still my favourite scene. That episode was peak
Frrrr guys
The voice acting, osts and animations were peak the plot was just trash 😭.
Sub what

*What really grinds my gears about this Yugioh series is......*
There are over 20 different types of monsters (two of these types are highly exclusive) and they made his signature monster card a DRAGON!
I approve of the Asakura Yoh profile picture.
And i like that you are honest with your thoughts and not being biased.
The good:
It has my favorite character of all time (Serena)
It has my favorite deck of all time (Lunalight)
The bad:
Literally everything else
I hate Yuya's zarc transformation in the end. Bringus back the original Ray and Zarc.
Children card game. Make sense cause the cards has as many words as 10 whole children books in it
The ritual dimension was the original dimension before it split into those different summoning dimensions
The plot is actuall garbage as well. The Doctor HAD the means to stop Z-arc and yet didn't do so. Think right. If the Villain is able to revive by his reincar actions dueling, Would it not make sense that his Daughter could be revived the EXACT same way?
Best yugioh ever
@LeNut-yi7ui you're joking right? Again, I just pointed out a HUGE ass Plot hole that was right there
I think Jack at arc-v feel more cool like "am king you're shit"
No konami i'm never buying a pendulum deck
The concept of Arc V of being almost like a "Greatest Hits" seemed like a good idea in theory. But, they spent way too much time in the Synchro dimension and focusing on a tournament there while an actual dimensional merge was imminent. The ending felt really rushed and didn't really provide any conclusions or epilogues to certain storylines like, did the XYZ dimension ever recover/rebuild?
When i was 15 I was ready to do a split for Sylvio...i was in the gutter.😔
SPEEDDROIDS FOR THE WIN!!!
Best yugioh archetype 🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
Ah, a fellow Speedroid enjoyer. Can't wait for us to get Over Synchro in TCG around January/February.
@@ImfernusRizenhe's also a kid too ofc he doesn't understand

do you want to know what pissed me off about this show?
thats right. the lack of development for shay and lulu (or shun and ruri, but i remember their names through the dubs). the thing is, shay is good. i like shay. i like how he wants to get his sister back. but, the problem is this: the show does not give five shits about showing how their relationship is like, or how it was before the heartland invasion until a gazillion episodes after. there was nothing that could make me care about lulu, but i still did anyway because shes my favorite out of the bracelet girls despite her lack of characterization. im mad that she specifically was done dirty because her and shay would have been the most tragic characters due to their circumstances, and i would have loved to see more of her: How she dueled, how she acted around others, how she was around yuto or her own brother. But nope! the writing department fucked over and died, thus leading them to throw her AND shay out of the window. as a kid, i loved shay, and i was basically desperate for him to reunite with his sister, and i was DESPERATE to see what she looked like. i got so bored of having to wait that i had to look her up, instantly became my favorite bracelet girl. but, unfortunately i dropped yugioh arc v because it was too long and i realized that um... the writing was ass. also, im also upset because they didnt explore yuto and lulu's relationship further because they had such good potential to be an excellent ship, and it would give yuto more of a motive if you understand what I mean.
god, do i love the yugioh writers---the most incompetent beings i've ever seen.
And Yuri's unhinged because he's been manipulated and has no real connections to anyone but the professor, and the professor only sees him as a tool
Genuinely hearing Yuma be called annoying by most people irks me, because as much as I grew up with Arc-V, I genuinely find Yuya even more annoying than Yuma. Yuma has an excuse. He's an 11 year old kid and Kattobingu does actually grow on you. Yuya's smile philosophy does not. There is a reason Yuto, Yugo and Yuri are characters I prefer over Yuya - They feel realistic for their situations
Any of the other Yu-Boys would have been better than Yuya as the protagonist, I feel Yuto would have been best for the role. Have him learn to Synchro summon and even start getting over his hatred of all fusion summoners through Yuzu as well as seeing how they can be used in Standard, maybe even have him summon one of the Odd-Eyes fusion monsters once or twice. Have him teach Sawatari to XYZ summon (I actually feel XYZ would have worked with Abyss Actors in a way, and I didn't want to repeat Synchro or Fusion being taught to Gongenzeka or Yuzu for him)
The show could have gone in so many different directions but it chose what it did, and while at times it was fun (Seeing Kaito kick ass with one of the most underpowered decks to exists gets a kick out of me every time) it was very underwhelming compared to everything else
The show could have been SOOOOO much better with yuto as the protagonist. Even with yugo too. Heck even yuri could have been a better protagonist too
Tbh, arc v fumbled Serena so fucking hard, like she could have been better then aki….. a war child who wants to prove herself at first, but she learns the horrors of what she is fighting for and joins the good guys? HELL YEAH! That is such a good idea
And hee you make her bug bait and shove her in a tube
