Baptism is awesome. I was so excited when I got baptised but the most important part is believing in Jesus and what He has done. That He died for us, for our sins, took that punishment for us and paid that price for us, He rose from the grave and that he is now seated at the right hand of the Father and He is coming for His bride the church soon. If you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, then you shall be saved, then go and be baptised. God bless you x
I've been watching Russell Brand over the last few years! He has clearly been 'searching' for truth. So it's no surprise to hear that he has become a Christian and is being baptised. And I am proper! delighted for him 🙂 I really am.......... I will now be praying for him that he follows Christ closley.
Could you point me to a video where he says that Jesus is his Lord and Saviour or at least says "I am a christian"? I think he is being honest with us in his journey but I haven't seen anything that shows he understands that he needs Christ's payment for his sins and to make him Lord. Lisa, Russell has practiced Transcendental Meditation for years. When a person transcends in meditation, he is absorbed in the experience of *I Am*. This is true repentance! *Repent* means * to turn*. The awareness has turned inward to know( experience) I Am. It's only natural to formally announce that experience through baptism. Russell appears to have developed a state of God Consciousness.

God promises to give us a new heart with new desires after His own when we get saved (regenerated). We then give through a lifetime of sanctification or becoming more like Christ. Russel has practiced several religions religiously, he went through one after the other. His last religion was new age mixed in with Christianity. He admitted he respects and believes in all the religions, including Christianity, and believes God exists in all the religion (not true to Christianity). He admitted he reads the Bible and follows some of its teachings. So, I’m not sure if he is getting baptized because he feels like it because of his partial beliefs in Christianity or because he is now fully committing his life to follow Christ.

I am going to be the sceptic here. Though I do believe Russell's heart felt desire to be baptized, but quoting Buddah, and other 'spiritual' figures, even if the quotes have some truth in them, they leave me a bit weary of 'why' he's doing this. Let's face it, the world has become so evil that even 'new age gurus' like Brand, are taking notice. BUT, from my own journey to Christ, the one thing that stood out, after recognizing my need to be saved, was that Christ is God BUT also that Satan is real and has become the all consuming liar that many have started following him because of his deception. The bible says he will come as an Angel of light! Russell's channel on rumble had an interesting conversation with him and Candance Owens. In another video on her channel, she admonished us to give people grace as they come to know Christ. Most of us didn't arrive at our decision spiritually fully formed.
Praise the Lord Jesus Christ. I was a little hesitant at first as I thought Russell was pantheistic.. May the Lord Jesus Christ engulf his life and be exalted.
Please don't be so gullible and naïve to believe that this is authentic. I want to hear his full testimony and reason for baptism. If his testimony doesn't honor Jesus Christ as the ONLY true way to God the Father and does not convey the full gospel. It is highly likely that this might just be some New Age thing he is doing again(for example "rise into Christ-consciousness"). The fact that he jokingly refers to baptism as "taking the plunge" and still uses New Age language like "living as an enlightened and awakened person", switches on my red lights.
My concern for Russell is that he may be treating Christianity as a lifestyle philosophy rather than a recognition of his depravity before God and his need for Christ's sacrifice. I hope he is making Christ his Lord and Saviour, but I would have been more confident in his intent if he had said that about his baptism. I don't think he's being false with us but I do fear that his understanding and motivations may still be lacking, in which case he is not ready to be baptised.

As a public figure, his decision to become baptised was certain to attract criticism, scorn and ridicule of every kind. Let's hope and pray that these mockers will eventually also find their way to the Truth.

Watching him, he has literally walked out his search, his growth. It has been so good to see.

I watch a bit of Russell and I'm as sceptical as I was with Kanye. He is more of a 'ascended masters' new ager. He says on his video that he is seeking experience and I am convinced he is not laying down Buddhism and his other gods. But there is but one way.

Russell's channel on rumble had an interesting conversation with him and Candance Owens. In another video on her channel, she admonished us to give people grace as they come to know Christ. Most of us didn't arrive at our decision spiritually fully formed.

Please don't be so gullible and naïve to believe that this is authentic. I want to hear his full testimony and reason for baptism. If his testimony doesn't honor Jesus Christ as the ONLY true way to God the Father and does not convey the full gospel. It is highly likely that this might just be some New Age thing he is doing again(for example "rise into Christ-consciousness"). The fact that he jokingly refers to baptism as "taking the plunge" and still uses New Age language like "living as an enlightened and awakened person", switches on my red lights.

My concern for Russell is that he may be treating Christianity as a lifestyle philosophy rather than a recognition of his depravity before God and his need for Christ's sacrifice. I hope he is making Christ his Lord and Saviour, but I would have been more confident in his intent if he had said that about his baptism. I don't think he's being false with us but I do fear that his understanding and motivations may still be lacking, in which case he is not ready to be baptised.

The knives are out already! Russell Brand - and by his own admission - has plenty of faults, just like the rest of us. Mr Brand has made a profound symbolic change in his life, and good for him. As a public figure, his decision to become baptised was certain to attract criticism, scorn and ridicule of every kind. It is therefore no surprise to me that numerous other commentators are already foaming at the mouth (even in the most measured and articulate manner) - now that Russell Brand has declared his devotion to Christ. Let's hope and pray that these mockers will eventually also find their way to the Truth.
