I am one, tough thick skinned son of a gun. This was Christianity at it's finest. This man broke me down to the point of tears. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Him. So to you people who think you have some sort of relationship with God, you had better make sure that relationship comes through Jesus, or you have no relationship with God at all

I hope the rehab people will assess any learning or medical issues that AA seldom covers. Just a thought. People offer money because so many live paycheck to paycheck they know anyone can be without shelter in this economic chaos. "There but for the grace of God go I ..." His patience is commendable and the gifts if surrendered to the Holy Spirit will bear fruit. Praying the unity of believers will serve many more in these troubling times. May God bless Anthony, Michael and all their new friends. We need to be salt and light. Preserve the good, expose what is not to mercy, grace and Truth.

Footnote: bThis passage is almost the same as in Ezk 18:20-32 and Ezk 33:8-20.
Ezk 3:19 “But if you have warned the wrong and he does not turn from his wrong, nor from his wrong way, he shall die in his crookedness, and you have delivered your being.
Ezk 3:20 “And when a righteous one turns from his righteousness and shall do unrighteousness, when I have put a stumbling-block before him, he shall die. Because you did not warn him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he has done is not remembered, and his blood I require at your hand.

      2. Satan lives to interrupt the word, so you must have discernment to know which spirit is in operation.
      3. That statement is not totally true. Peter interrupted Jesus, and Jesus said "Get behind me, Satan.

This is a beautiful video. I have a question though at the very beginning when the guy said BS and the pastor already knew it was anthony, but then as the story went along he had never met this homeless man before who was going to kill himself and I thought maybe the young boy with the sandwich and the homeless man situation was further back in time but if all of this happened today, how did the pastor know the cussing man ( homeless man) was Anthony/ know his name?
It's still a beautiful story but it just seems as if the pastor told Anthony to not cuss anymore as if he had been there a handful of times so I would imagine the suicide thoughts were long ago but now it just doesn't make sense cuz he's saying the whole thing happened today

He has no idea what that did, what that means to the man who had been harmed and rejected, his whole life, and now he's filled with shame, with nothing to lose, he believes. What Michael did, I promise you, changed Anthony's life. Just to feel that love being poured out to him, thats a pivital moment that changes everything.

I pastored a church in Dallas and was recognized by the mayor as the most effective homeless ministry in Dallas. We faced the same dilemma. We were feeding and clothing on a weekly basis. After several years of sending them back to their underpasses, fields and tents. I called for the people to step up and if they were empty nesters with a spare BR to accept a homeless man or woman into their home to disciple them. I structured a program that got them off the street to help them get their life back. My wife & I were the first to lead the way. Here we are several years later and many of those people are still living in their own places and working. Glory to Jesus, He is the waymaker deliverer🔥🔥

It isn't always a happy ending though.
My brother and his wife took in 2 homeless people and they cleaned them out while my brother and sister-in-law were at work.
A friend and her church had given shelter to a group of Muslims claiming to be Christians who escaped persecution in their homeland.
I'll spare you the gory details but her daughter and her pastor were brutally and horrifically murdered by these people.
A church I attended had bought a building, renovated it, furnished it, and opened it up to homeless people to live in for a nominal fee. Within no time: they punched holes in the walls, busted the toilets, defecated and urinated in the hallway, bedbugs and cockroaches, drunken brawls, etc..The cops were called to vacate the people, and after totaling up the damage the church decided to just sell the building.
Discernment is key. Not every homeless person is psychologically or socially capable of living in a home after years of being on the streets.

That's good to hear!! Because we have a permanent housing shortage in America anyway, growing since 1980, thanks to apartments not being built after that year, especially in California. I'm old enough to remember when there were no homeless people hardly, until that year. Not enough housing stock in relation to the big population by that time. There's always been drugs and alcohol, but not this housing crisis. We need a massive amount of housing stock to be rebuilt back to pre-1980 levels. We have almost 400 million people now. Thanks for understanding that being homeless is also a housing issue - not just ONLY a drug and alcohol issue, which is bigotry and stereotyping. I'm glad to hear that housing was offered to homeless people, that they can afford! Better yet, lobby your City Council meetings to allow and promote affordable housing in your town. Seniors and disabled people are the fastest growing demographic for becoming homeless! Not many people are aware of this.

      @Joopie-e1z 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@wk1810That's true : never have strangers move in with you !! I say this as a former homeless senior citizen. I never used drugs and or alcohol, I was simply scammed out of my apartment by a fake friend who was a roommate. They moved to stay at Grandma's basement, for free. That was their plan all along. Not all homeless people are dangerous or bad, but because of the culture, you could get a killer in your home. So, don't take strangers into your house! You can hook them up with housing agencies and other useful things though. I do that, sharing the agency that helped me get my new place . Many people are seniors and disabled, who are homeless, and shelters do NOT lead to housing. We lack a good, healthy housing supply. Before 1980, we did have lots of vacancies. I'm from California, where this crisis showed up first.

I don’t know if you’ll ever see this but I pray the Lord will illuminate your understanding. Please do NOT listen to Jimmy Swaggart and the many false teachers/televangelists like him.
      In Matt 7:21-23, Jesus says,
“”Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
      ‭‭
There are many preaching and teaching who don’t live out the faith & true Christianity Jesus has called us to. Some are still engulfed in deep iniquity and have not repented. They serve only themselves. They use Christianity as a means to their prosperity, make merchandize of people and mislead others by twisting Scriptures intentionally or due to their own ignorance of God’s truth.
I pray that you actively seek Jesus through studying His word and by prayer. I pray you are filled with His Holy Spirit to know all truth. That you may be able to test all the spirits by the very Word and knowing of God. As you truly repent, immerse yourself in the Word, in fervent prayer, and under the instruction of His Holy Spirit, He will guide you into His sound doctrine and to the few who are actually living out and teaching the doctrine of Jesus Christ.

We found ourselves in Oregon a few years back to visit our son. We were told to 'be careful and give this one neighbor a wide berth'. My husband was never one that would be intimidated by the outcasts and soon found himself seeking out a visit with this neighbor to listen to his story and just have a beer with him. He also would, often during the wee hours of the mornings, when he couldn't sleep, wander into town and and buy 2 hotdogs at the all-night gas station, one for himself and one to share with a transient that he knew he would encounter and listen to their story. We spent the winter of 2020 there before going back home. He went to be with God in 2022. My husbands heart was refined that winter in preparation of meeting his Savior

Ed has told some interesting stories about his own past. Once you've heard them, you begin to understand that he has been crafted, through fire and doubt and glory, to be God's man. He's also got the culturally relevant thing going on so people connect to him and finally, he's willing to be led by the spirit.
I've heard pastors who were cool but spiritually dead (Olsteen), other's who were spiritual but couldn't connect (a LOT of these) and others who were spiritual and could connect but weren't deep enough into the bible to teach or preach anything.
I've come to the conclusion that one of the signs of real Christianity in a church is, has it's growth rate recently taken off? If not, the spirit isn't moving there. If so, it's still not a guarantee (Olsteen again) but then you need to hear what the message is and see if the spirit is moving there.
And that combination is nearly impossible to find anywhere these days.

The pastor handled the situation perfectly. Especially at the end when he stated, "we're not giving a homeless person a pile of money and putting them back on the street". That was the right thing to say, as that would be a receipt for disaster.
This man needs real help in a controlled environment. The money can be used for real rehab, in a Christian backed recovery center.
I hope Anthony is well and following our Lord. Praise Jesus 👏

He doesn’t hide in his green room. He lives his church. CBC is a massive church but it feels so small because of the culture that he leads in. Absolutely wonderful man.

This is what “church” is supposed to be like, according to the Good Samaritan teaching. I can see my pastor taking the time to put the puzzle pieces into a biblical place. He’s already doing this in adopting a sibling group of thee who were to be split up for easier adoption. He already had three kids and is actively leading the church in supporting, and participating in foster care and adoption.

I cried all the way home and I heard Holy Spirit say to me “it was a busy highway people were watching, it only takes 1.” What a lesson that day. I was so thankful and blessed but still couldn’t do it all alone .

This was beautiful. Christianity at its finest. I wish there were more pastors like this man in the world and I pray god will raise them up. I used to feed the homeless that slept in a bus shelter on my way to church on a Sunday. I was passing anyway, and always got there too early, so used the time to buy them sandwiches and coffee for the day. One day on the way to Church, I didn't realise that the homeless people from the bus shelter followed me there and came into the service. I was delighted to see them there and prayed that God would speak to their hearts. Sadly, the church's reaction was not a good one and they were quickly removed. They were also displeased with me. I was very heartbroken and shocked and have struggled with church ever since. 💔

There are so many people going through so many things and when they turn to the church they’re rejected. Some people just wants a hug, some people just wants someone to say I’m here for you, some people need some hope, some people need some help. I’m happy Anthony got help because these days the people who say they’re Christians aren’t living by the word. It hurt me to know that the church can say here is how you can help but you’ll never see a here is how we can help you. I hate that. Some people are on their last and they turn to the church because that’s God’s house and the church rejects them. It breaks my heart sometimes to see how people live. It breaks my heart.

I know what that hug from a godly man feels like. It’s like hugging God. You can feel it. I felt so much peace and calm. When he hugged me he simply said everything is gonna be alright and I said I know. Up to that point I was a mess. I just gave my life to Jesus but up till then I could not sleep for a few months. I could not eat. Just thinking about eating made me feel sick but every now and then I forced myself to take a few bites of something. My life hasn’t been the same since. Im in love with God. I’m filled with his Holy Spirit and I can regularly feel his presence which is so comforting. I get a sense of awe and usually get emotional. I was addicted to drugs and struggling after a broken relationship. God is so good. I told Kurt I want to go to church. I barely knew him but he invited me to go to church maybe 6 months prior to that. I still thank Gid for him even though I haven’t seen him in maybe 15 years. I got born again in 1995. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus. Peace.
