I used to adore Russell. His spirit, his joy, this beautiful vulnerability , something so real about him. I cant bear him anymore, I definetly don't think this is the real him, but I don't like it. He's arrogant, overly serious, controlling, just uses words in order to monopolise a conversation. Just loves his own voice.

I’d just like Russell to own the fact that he probably hurt others badly when he was an addict and had the power over others that comes with being a celebrity. That he honestly reckons with his effect on those other people and even apologises rather than just self self self. I’m listening but still just hearing a big ego talking. I’m glad he’s no longer an addict as that makes the world a safer place for everyone else. But I don’t believe he’s really changed deep down coz I hear no self reflection.

When bad things happen to people, it's easy to fall back on religion. Brand is a narcissist and he is so desperate to be loved and affirmed that, without the wider media loving him, he turns to God. His Christian awakening is just another conformation of his absolute love of himself.

You got it backwards. God IS the answer, Jesus Christ IS the saviour. God IS the waymaker. His life fell apart because it was godless and God restored him and he is still growing. God loves taking the most obscure souls and using them. Because you don't believe in God, you cannot see.

Speaking on my authority as a half-century native of the Bible Belt: there are an awful lot of my fellow Christians who, when faced with the conversion of a person like Russell Brand, need to set aside their petty moral judgments and remind themselves that Jesus Himself said, right there in the red words, that a self-described Christian whose motives are not pure will not get into heaven ahead of prostitutes and tax collectors. He was basically talking about Russell when he said that.

Just as in the parables where everyone got paid the same for a day's work no matter what time they started and those who had worked all day didnt like it. Our ideas and that of many religious belief systems miss that grace.

He knows what he did. As does everyone working the British comedy scene and TV at that time. Open secret. And anyone who tried to talk got slapped with a letter from his lawyers. Brand was financially worth too much to loose so it was all swept away. He is known for changing his public persona frequently-he will stick with being a Christian for as long as it keeps lining his pockets and getting him his views and publicity on his channel, once that is no longer happening he will flip to some other cause, as is his way. I am glad him having children has changed him for the better-but that makes no difference to the woman he hurt over the years.

What he learned is what he felt because he had children, God showed him his responsibility. What he didn’t know before was that his mother must have been grieved when he lived the other life, he was her baby once. And let me tell you being a grandparent puts even more into perspective also.

Russell B is a smart guy, but finding Jesus just because his less-than-perfect lifestyle got put on display, is just crap, and he knows it. It's the old: "I'm sorry I got caught, not necessarily sorry about what I did" adage...It's good to live and learn, and we all live in glass-houses, but God, whoever that is, couldn't care less about him as an individual and only he, Russell Brand, can correct his lifestyle, addictions and all. Nothing is MEANT TO BE, it's entirely up to the individual, the crap I'm listening to here is like listening to my Jehowas Witness friend preaching to me about her born-again bs; no difference. Jesus, Jehowah, Buddha etc, it's all the same nonsense. And btw, I also think RB should button up his shirt just a bit and become a grown-up...Cheers...:):):)

Jesus said, if they persecuted me they will persecute you. But God is worth it all. Peter said, he counted it all rubbish….
I’m still learning and growing in Christ, and We have to surrender all and pickup our cross daily and satan is going try and attack and discourage us but God said, call out to Me in the day of trouble and I will deliver you and we are to put on the whole armor of God to fight off the wiles of the enemy.
Praise God m….So Brand is learning and I hope the host will who needs Christ too.
This world is gone but God is in control of all things and we got to pray, trust & have faith & read His Word daily and let Him help us.
Work out our salvation with fear and trembling, He says so let’s love and encouragement each day as each day is allowed to come,

However, I do believe the women when they told their stories in how Russell Brand treated them in his sexual predatory behaviour towards them - I found it quite disturbing. But I am not his judge and neither is anybody else. If his christianity helps him to come to terms with the fact that he doesn't have to lie about how he treated these women and that it is best to come clean and do whatever else is necessary to live a life that he can be proud of, good for him!
