The river Thames is 200 miles long. I'm guessing he got baptised in a quieter spot than London Bridge, I pray he turns from the yoga and meditation to meditating in the word of God. He doesn't do anything by halfs so we will see where it goes. He can't hang on to all the new age stuff and false religion if he is going to please God

Baptism is the conversion moment where we access the blood of Christ, enter the grave with him and are resurrected a new creation, no longer a slave to sin, but now a servant of Christ.

Regardless of who he is and what he has done? I don't understand why Christians welcome people like Trump and Brand with open arms despite them taking ZERO responsibility for their actions. As an agnostic from a very Christian family, this is not the moral blueprint I was raised on. Is the argument that it can be suspended in special cases if they are famous and will increase visibility of Christianity?

Why do you say that? You’re actually on your knees at the end of the day, folding your hands and praying for a celebrity? No you’re not. Lmao that sounds so insane. If you are doing that, you have too much time on your hands and are focusing on the wrong things in your life

@@BigWrangler How do you know they don't?
But praying isn't just on your knees hands folded, The Bible says Pray without ceasing... that would be impossible if your way is the only way to pray as jobs are a thing.
Also why aren't you praying for celebs? They are people too and if they convert then they can use their influence for God.

    • @jacobbaum6421
      @jacobbaum6421 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

@bigwrangler - so we can’t pray for celebrities? And if we do pray for them, we have to fold our hands and get on our knees? Is that the only way you pray?
We are called to love our neighbor, and celebrities are our neighbors as well. Obviously we don’t have enough time to pray for everyone, but let’s just say that someone has a favorite TH-cam channel of someone like Joe Rogan or Russel Brand, why not take the time to pray for them? I would encourage you to do the same.
Also, I’m sure you realize this, but when we’re called to “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess 5:17), it implies that we can pray at any moment during the day or night, not just when on our knees. God bless

As a convert, the way to describe finding out how loved you are by the One who created everything, it's something that can't be put into words. You become completely and continuously intoxicated with awe and joy, even when you find yourself in darkness, you end up clinging to God because that's all you have and you know what it was like in the darkness when you had nothing to cling onto. Non-believers can't comprehend it so they antagonise it, but I see the genuineness in Russell coming to this, because he seems to have been searching for so long for what could fill the emptiness in his soul.

I heard one ministry who said "Try invite Jesus in your life and he will answer your prayer and he can save you and help you in your today life."
So i tried it out and cried for help in my deepest and difficult time of my life. My life totally changed from that on and my prayer got answered and all my burden all of sudden became light and easy. From that on i start to believe in Christ in 2015. Not because of anything then my personal experience of it. After that i start to read bible to know more about him. Russell is sincere. I have been watching his transformation over the last 4 years. Kenye was NEVER sincere and now he's upset God didn't answers his prayers in the way Kanye wanted on the timeline Kenye wanted. He just thought God would "bless" him by restoring his wealth and fame. Now realizing that God did bless him and answer his prayers, he just didn't want to accept the blessing because it wasn't the one Kenya wanted. Kenye thinks God is nothing more than a Genie in the bottle.

I was literally crying right before, idk if it was from shame of my old life or maybe saying goodbye to that chapter, but when I went under I felt free and weightless and the smile on my face coming out of the water was so huge. I felt pure joy.

People talked about him in the 90s and early 2000s the problem is he was extremely inconsistent with his message, coming from a huge fan of his. You can’t push preach a sermon, say a prayer, cry and then go to rapping what these b*s want all in the same concert. I think people just eventually dismissed it as what we call now call cultural Christianity, and so they stopped paying attention

I think the passage that was just referenced in Matthew would describe DMX as he was backthen. I used to go to night school, and one night, a few of us went to a club he was performing at after class. He was already done when we got there, though. However, I guess we caught his eye because there was a group of us all in scrubs. It seemed most of the crowd had already left. He offered to buy us a beer. Which we gladly accepted, and then asked my friend if she wanted to go "smoke" with him. She did. But while they were up there, (the roof of the club. He's DMX 😅) he hit on her. She turned him down because not only was she married, but so was he. I don't know if she was a Christian, but She had morals and loves her husband. Anyhow, I don't know if he has changed, but I know, at least at the time, he did not practice what he preached.

All sexual sin does, whether it be homosexuality or any other sin. Anything outside of God's marriage he made between man and woman is an abomination to him. But the only way to get out of it is to be all in on Jesus, first the forgiveness of sins, and then a deep loving relationship with God.

Do you understand what baptism is? The sacrament requires water and the words: " I baptise you (name) in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit." The sacrament is a visible sign of invisible grace. The correct visible sign will allow God's inward grace to change the soul, from an absence of spirit to having the Holy Spirit dwelling in the soul. So provided the right materials are used, it is a valid sacrament, and is supernatural. So why the skepticism regarding Russel Brand's baptism?

I repented of my sins, asked Him to forgive me & He did. I felt the weight lifted & I couldn’t describe the joy I had. Two years later, I got baptized in a hot tub & both my brother & sister came. In some parts of Asia there is a worldview that holds all religions as valuable. So one can believe in Buddhism, ancestral spirits, and nature spirits all at the same time. One of the challenges Christianity has faced is that people will happily believe in Jesus, but just slot Him into their existing belief structure. I'm hearing a bit of that in what Russell Brand is saying.
