Nice video, great ideas. I came across one paper artist who put together bundles of paper tied them up and left them outside tied to her fence. I think they were out there for several months and the results were beautiful.
Margaret, what technique did you use on the page that’s opposite to a page with the magnet? Those flowers on the right hand side of a ledger page are to die for! ❤
I enjoyed seeing these beautiful journals very much. They have such a perfect variety of materials in each one. Corrugated cardboard is always a fun texture! I love that it can be flattened or left as is, torn randomly or cut cleanly, painted or not...and it has such a unique sound in a journal!
Hi! Love your videos. In the fabric cover journal you share here, you mentioned a paper/fabric called tie-beck? I know I am spelling it wrong but I need the correct spelling so I can find it. Thank you so much. Robin
Love the way you did the book page journal cover. It looks much easier than modge podge, and easier to control the consistency. Thank you for the printable as well.
What a wonderful and excellent video with so many examples of adding depth and texture. You are a fantastic artist and teacher. This video is one that I can watch over and over and learn something new each time.
You covered well every one of the techniques Margarete. I will keep the list as a reminder for future crafting. Thank you for the well made video tutorial. Hugs xx
These are beautiful and so unusual with the techniques you used! I love the old world look and feel of the pages! Thanks so much for sharing and teaching us what you do!! ❤
Really like the idea of the magnet. Genius! Can you get Tyveck fabric at a fabric store like JoAnn fabrics? Not familiar with that fabric. How do you get upholstery fabric?
Hi! Not at a fabric store. You can find tyvek at an office supply store, for envelopes made of tyvek. Then just cut down the envelopes. Also, Home Depot sells it but in HUGE rolls. They now use it to wrap around houses to keep the moisture out between the walls and the outside. I don't think you want such a large quantity, though 😉❣️
Did you dunk the papers before you made the journal or did you dunk the whole journal once you made it? I just found your blog post. I will look at that for details. Thanks for such a beautiful video.
What a great video to start off Monday! I'll watch it again and take notes on the next to last journal that was loaded with ideas! I wondered if mold was an issue for the water soaked journal? Thank you also for the helpful printable list.
The very first 52-prompt of yours that I did is my favorite journal. In it, I also incorporated texture and a few interactive features. Some of the pages in the Ukrainian dictionary remind me of that journal, and it tickles me to think that, for a few hours anyway, I was able to "create like Margarete"! I absolutely love this flip-through video. Thanks for sharing your ideas and creativity!
These are lots of fun but I'm wondering what does one do with them? It doesn't appear there is actual writing space so does that mean it's basically a coffee table type book?
It can be. I like to use them as places where I can explore being creative and they are stored as if they are a book. That means I can place them in a bookshelf to admire later, too 😉❣️👏🏼
Thank you for all of these ideas! But you skipped over the most amazing piece, and that's the metal accent screwed onto the tissue paper cover. What is that?!!!

That's a great idea! I'd like to try that some day 😉

That came as a digital printable kit from Ephemera's Vintage Garden. 💜
@@MargareteMiller , Thank you; good to know.
Ooh I love the stitching of the second junk journal’s spine!
Thanks so much 💜
Great ideas to showcase DEPTH & TEXTURE!

Nice one!! I'll remember cardboard for the future 😉
This is so cool! Thanks! I especially LOVE the idea of the magnet underneath the photo and watch face on top. Great idea! 💜

Hi Robin. It’s Tyvek. You can find a packet of Tyvek envelopes at the office supply store. 👍🏼❣️😉

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! No, mold was never an issue. Everything dried out really well in the hot sun 😉💜👍🏻
Thanks for another inspiring video! Tomorrow I’m going to try some of these ideas so I can remember them for future journals!

It's a closure I made with scraps from an old watch. Sorry that I forgot to show that! 🙃
