    Wasn't as great as Han or Tang dynasty, but still lovable. Can you imagine how will China be today if Ming dynasty managed to fend off the Shun rebellion and possibly the Manchurian invasion, and also regain popularity among the nation's subjects. China still under Han rule from 1644 until 1917? I bet she will be like Japan or UK today. Glorious and powerful.

Ming court accidentally killed the grandfather and father of Nurhaci khan later he revolt against Ming. It wasn't a invasion the Ming general Wu Sangui invited us to crackdown on peasant revolt we were there to revenge for the Chongzhen emperor.

      The Ming Dynasty was founded by a great criminal named Zhu Yuanzhang, and was politically corrupt, making it a shitty dynasty that caused China to collapse. Dynasties established by foreign peoples, such as the Qing Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty, were far superior. The idea that the Ming Dynasty was superior is simply an illusion created by the Han people.

    Many wonder what the world would look like if the Roman Empire hadn’t fallen.
    But I always wonder what it would look like if the Ming survived…
    Chinese culture remains pure. They would’ve probably avoided the century of humiliation and advanced China to the level of the Europeans in the 17th to 19th century. Many lives would be saved from foreign invasions under their leadership instead of the Manchus’.
    One could only dream 😢

    I wonder how the 2 handed cutting polearms were used tactically. They obviously take up the slot that could have been used for a lance. I guess it's for skirmishing instead of getting stuck in delivering shock. Use the reach of the polearm to get in a devastating swipe and then move on, similar to how one would use a curved saber. It seems only oriental agrarian empires use this with their cavalries. The mongols weren't known to be big users.

      These cold weapons should be used for wild encounters. The Ming Dynasty also has a large number of muskets and cannons, but in the north they have greater limitations.

      @Jimmy Xie Also, mongol lances often featured hooks. In order to make use of them to unhorse heavily armored riders, one must use 2 hands, making them 2 handed polearms as well.
      Modern parades feature real battle field weapons in their usual configuration. You wouldn't spend millions into fake props.

      There is a manual for using this sort of weapon, on horseback & foot, from Cheng Zi Yi in the late-Ming era. You can find it on chineselongsword.com. The claimed weight of 13-26lbs is a bit unbelievable though.

    The saddast moment of the Chinese history maybe is that the fall of the last Han Chinese Dynasty…… Just like 1453……The fall of Constantinople... shared somehow similar fate...

    • @Intranetusa
      @Intranetusa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Constantinople really fell when the Crusaders sacked the city during the 4th Crusade centuries before the Ottomans came. The Eastern Roman Empire was just a rump state and Constantinople was a shadow of its former glory by 1453. And if the Han Dynasty didn't fall when it did, we wouldn't have famous stories such as the Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and we'd probably be left with a rump state that limped on for a few centuries as an extremely corrupt and ineffective empire that faded slowly into history.
