Love Irem games from back in the day. I've got R-Type on pretty much every platform but glad this is going to be the pack-in cart for the Standard White EXP. As always, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work :-)

Yeah its definitely very much like Shinobi. In The Hunt is hectic and crazy. Si much going on its tough not to die. A lot. But still fun game. Insert those virtual coins and keep playing.
Used to be a gradius addict. So R-type would be great to play. Never played. Am itching to play moon patrol. Have played one port of that game. Looking forward for the arcade version. Nice to know there's an upgraded version ported.
Very excited about rtype and in the hunt. 2 of my favorites. Lightning swords might be follow up to ninja spirits ? . As looks very similar Battle chopper in the uk was called mr heli . It was converted to the home systems by probe and actually they did a good job of the port , I played the c64 and amiga version alot back in the day
Even this cart is great, maybe even greater than Toaplan. Look a the cover artwork of the cartridge: it's insanely rad! :D I feel some "Gaelco Arcade 1" vibes here: less games, more variety. But, as I've said in your video about Toaplan Arcade 1, variety is not a real issue of that cart, because Toaplan was mainly known for the Shmups! I still have really great memories of me playing "Moon Patron" on the Atari 2600 along with my cousin. The option to finally get the original arcade rom for cheap is a huge satisfaction for me. And for my pockets, also.
I definitely think this cart is dlightly better despite 2 less games. But they couldve added a few more from IREMs catalogue. I'm sure cart 2 will come.
I’m super excited for this cart!! Shmups is in my top 3 genres, give me more Shmups Blaze!! There are still tons more…. if the Raiden franchise somehow makes it onto Evercade, I would be in heaven.

Yes I remember it, I'm sure it was on the turbo grafx mini. Not sure which is better actually. I'll need to play them again. It's a bit like Shinobi as well.
I'm a big shooter fan so this is great though am looking forward to the second cart more better if they put more on some cartridges may be no less than 15 on a cartridge
I definitely think this is the better cart over TOAPLAN?! Even if less then expected. It has quality over quantity. Though I’m not a fan of these Arcade games that where originally design to waste all your money on! Not much fun. But still good! 🙂👍
Not enough!!! Obviously it's going to be expected.. Arcade games.. coin guzzlers.. I'd love to love the shooters more than I do.. but I'm just pretty much crap at them. I prefer the shoot 'em ups that have a health bar or are NOT one hit kill. Sometimes it's impossible not to die. So much happening on screen.
@@CrazyBurger I get it. The strange thing is that Battle Chopper has a health bar (well, 3 hits I think) but I find that is way more difficult than R-Type.
@@vyking5000 yeah its horrible difficult cause the enemies just keep respawning.. then appear out of nowhere. I definitely need practice at Rytype.. just feel I'm getting shot at from every direction.. even from off screen!
If they release Kung Fu Master they can have my £££ this arcade classic really needs to be out on home consoles - does anyone know if it’s out on any platforms at all?
I think this looks like a decent cartridge and I'm looking forward to it. But I am noticing that we're not getting many games on carts nowadays. I think the average is around 6 games. Remember when Evercade launched and they said we'd get up to 20 games on one cart? I think there's only been one or 2 carts that have maxed that. We seem to be paying more for less, and the cynic in me is thinking they deliberately keep the game selection low so they can release more than one collection and maximise the money they make from them. I know my last few comments on Evercade have been a little negative, and don't get me wrong, I love my handheld and VS, and I do play them a lot, but I just feel they are losing their way a bit lately. Am I wrong?
No I agree.. remember the mega cats and piko collections? Tons of games.. Lynx 1.. Indie Heroes.. codemasters. Ideally we want as many as possible.. but as long as its not quantity over quality.
@@CrazyBurger oh yeah I agree, I'd rather have fewer games that are of a higher quality, than more games that are average at best, but I'm not sure evercade are finding that path. We seem to be getting fewer games that are average. Granted, there are a few gems but I'm starting to see more filler games creeping in, which isn't great when you aren't getting many games on a cart to begin with. Honestly, I really do think we need to see some bigger hitters. How good would a Capcom or Konami arcade collection be?!
Well.... I'm checking your video with my full eyes opened : Why do I have the feeling that the scrolling is somehow - hectic - (look at 3:30 and after....) ???!!! it's not smooth at all !! Is it coming from your capture card ??? Strangely, the graphics in the first part of R type looks "sharp".. but when you reach the boss , the graphics look more "blurry"... ???! Did you make multiple takes ??? ... We can see also a little bit of shimmering too..... I like the concept of the evercade... but here, I'm disappointed !! :-(
The Boss part is from a separate video.. oh and don't panic. None of this is running on an actual Evercade product. Merely a quick look at the games that will be on an Evercade soon.

"played" previously on another support.... ok ... A little bit confusing , don't you think. I know that those games are "prehistorical" for youngsters but ....
@@TheFrenchy82 I'm playing the games that will appear on the carts. These games have been about for 20 to 30 years plus. They won't change from what you see in the video. Evercade is really just an emulation device. Its a sneak peek of the games to come. The only differences that tend to happen to final products are bug fixes.. or censoring.
@@CrazyBurger I hear you. But contrary to FGPA systems, it's... emulation ! I can understand that Evercade programmed emulators for NES, SNES, MD, etc. here, it's the arcade version : I really hope evercade will be able to program a good emulator for this one... I never saw those kind of hectic scrolling with r type, before.. At least on MAME, with an average PC. I trust Evercade to do a good job with this one !!!
@@TheFrenchy82 it's basically how I edited the video rather than a specific issue. Generally Evercade has emulated stuff pretty well. Arcade stuff has been pretty good so far. Not convinced they got the resolutions particularly correct. Pixel perfect mode for example didn't seem right.

Do prefer the Toaplan collection due to Truxton, prob my fav ever shooter, but great to see R Type for the Evercade.
