Hey Beatemups, your issue with the gamecube controller has to do with the stick sensitivity and deadzones which can be adjusted in the custom controls settings, also, LAN is still recommended, so I'd try it and make a video to see the difference maybe, an idea haha

First time ever playing smash, friend hyped it, I pre-ordered, it came a day late. It's something I love and hate. I pick it up, play for half an hour, rage quit over something stupid, close it, pick it right back up

Exactly me, i was enjoying the world of spirit but every time I encounter a hard AI i just stop playing then come again and i come back stronger and better the next time hehe.

I agree that this is the best Smash game ever made. I'm continuously blown away by this game and the amount of content in it. This is my game of the year easily. It's just too darn fun.

im playing on normal and theres different matches that you need the right spirits for. theres alot of unfairness in my opinion but then i realize you are meant to use the spirit combinations
Even on Ez there are difficult matches but I'd because of the rules most times and not because the CPUs for example the 9 volt and 18 volt spirit is difficult as heck because of the assistant the automatically have in their favor that also comes in the Guile spirit having both Ryu and guile attack u constantly in a stamina match were u have 40% less live is difficult as heck
Little Mac>Spring Man(or any primary that boosts punches with three slots for support) >Qbby( or any of the other supports that let you start with Ore club)
The idea is that you get super armor while charging up the ore club, plus if you stand in the corner you can sweep the whole stage with the tornado attack in addition to hitting whichever enemy runs up next to you. All you have to do is keep repeating that and running through spirits mode. Once you get enough skill orbs to unlock the infinite smash charge this becomes even more OP because you can hold it until the perfect moment. When you run out, you still have little macs charged punches to finish off the scraps, if there are any. I finish every fight pretty much with the ore club.
If you get an enemy that has super armor, just throw the ore club at him so he picks it up, and the swing it so slow that you can dodge behind them and get a good hit in before he turns around to try to hit you. Just keep repeating like that

i just bought a nintendo switch like 2 weeks ago and this is my one and only game. just to give you a little background, i had all of the consoles of nintendo from famicom to gamecube when i was a kid. then financial crisis happened. i havent bought any console since. fast forward today, im making decent amount of money. so i bought a switch. this game almost made me cry. smash has always been my favorite game. the nostalgia i felt. i will buy zelda botw up next then pokemon lets go (havent decided if i will go with eevee or pikachu).all i can say is I love my nintendo switch. english is not my first language so sorry for that
Thats exactly what I feel about smash too. I went years After the gamecube without playing it. Now I have ultimate and I'm so happy, so nostalgic. This game will always be special to me.

This really is the best fighting game ever made! I love the attention to detail, like how they added the Meta Ridley skin from Prime. Everything about the game has been just phenomenal. I don't wana say this is the best game on the switch but it atleast ties Odyssey abd comes close to breathe of the wild.
It's funny cause I bought this game and then barely touched it as I thought "This is mostly multiplayer". And then I started playing adventure mode this week, and I agree it's bloody addictive! Great mode, i don't find it boring at all, it has that "just one more" feeling.

Also my favorite classic mode "story" is the one of toon link because it felt too fun to play with three Links including in the boss battle and while I was playing through it I couldn't stop thinking of the We Link Links animation .
Smash is seriously amazing. Although I did just pick up owlboy because you rave about it in a few videos. It is amazing. That and hollow knight may be my favorite Indies I've played in years. Keep up the awesome videos man. Glad to see you're feeling a bit better.
Adventure mode is fun with the bosses and the rock paper scissors, but becomes repetitive after awhile.
WadesWorld 0.0 you don’t really have to participate in the “rock paper scissors” I pretty much just use the same primary/support combination the whole time and it doesn’t make a huge difference. I am having fun clearing out every area to try and get all the spirits
@@alonelywalker6602 yeah I am glad they made it like that. And I'm not trying to talk down on the game its probably, if not is the best switch game to come out. I just wish they threw more of the mini bosses and or mini games in it. But that's just me I can get over it.

It’s hard to say it’s the best fighting game of all time but it definitely wins in regards to the amount of content and love they put into this game. You’re definitely right about that
I wish they kept in alot of the content from smash 4, especially on the 3DS, Smash Run was amazing and the punching bag plus target practice games provided goals to aim for while practicing which was brilliant. Everything else in Smash U is brilliant, but I wish they didn't scrapped the arena content atleast. Still at least still have smash matches against armies.

Ultimate is the best one besides a few minor things that it should've had (for example event mode, break the targets, etc), it is quicker then Smash 4 U which was the quickest to date but it also has the same exact gravitas that melee did.
EDIT on Wed, January 2nd: Melee is much slower than it is on the PC when played on the actual GameCube hardware. I have both.

I'm doing the same thing. I'm playing regular smash, adventure mode, classic mode, a dash of the other modes, and I run to the shop constantly trying to hunt down every piece of music and mii gear. I'm also constantly experimenting with different rule sets and trying to find new combinations.

I love how at 7:10 you talk about the AI being brutal while showing the Zero Suit Samus battle with the poison field. That battle was so unrelentingly brutal that I actually left that spirit behind and didn't come back until I had almost every spirit in Adventure Mode, right before the final boss fight, after unlocking every fighter. Sure, I tried to go back a few times, but got thoroughly stomped every time. I think I only managed with a heavily physical damage boosted Ganondorf, loads of luck, and a handful of retries. Easily one of the hardest fought battles in the game for me. (Brightside, this fight is at a dead end, making it totally skippable to anyone not trying to "catch 'em all.")
I imagine most people just went the easy way of edgeguarding the zss

I felt the exact same way. Sure it was exciting to see the game announced and all and the concept of it being the "Ultimate" version of smash with all the previous fighters was cool but I thought to myself the same as you did... "Eh...I don't have friends to play with. I'm not good enough to play online. It's not gonna be worth my time". I played Smash 4 a bit but really didn't feel a need to go back to it after a while because I just wasn't good enough to have fun with the bulk of the games content. I didn't pick Ultimate up til this year, 2022, simply cause I'm on a big Nintendo kick right now. However when I got it I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the sheer VOLUME of single player content... and it's all GREAT single player content. Like you, I've been ADDICTED to World of Light and the grind to unlock new fighters and spirits. I haven't even touched the actual core Smash mode yet. Easily one of my favorite games on my Switch.

I love the game but.... Everyone everywhere on the internet just seems like a freaking pro. Everyone not missing a single button prompt and knows what to press. Talks about it like they are in every tournament. I haven't played smash in a few years and while I love the single player and vsing my brother, I don't think I'll ever go online. Not when everyone talks about this game seems like a god :( I can beat max level cpu but screw going online when all you see online is professional smash
Well its been a game where mostly you were better off playing vs someone else, and had tournaments way long, watch smash bros documentary then you'll understand why there is so much hype around it

i loved the inclusion of the world of light, however it did feel very drawn out. what would've made it better is if the world integrated more puzzle elements like in the triforce zone.

but finally beat the story mode yesterday (true ending) took about 20 hours to finish it (only just got it like 2 weeks ago)
there are a few levels I didn't like (just for the layout)
(there were only a few difficult fights that I had to play several time to win, like the one right before the final one)

Yeah me and my brother are competetive playes melee and smash 4 players. The gc controler vs pro-controler, the pro has some slight frame adventage in this one haha. Try the new gc pro controle. Think you like it. Actually feels amazing.

1000% agree with all of this! My boyfriend and I have put over 22 hours into the adventure mode and had countless intense 1v1 battles. This game isn't just a button masher, you really have to put thought into every move and it's by far my favorite smash game! I share your enthusiasm!! 😬

admit i wasnt sure whether it was worth me getting smash, as i would rarely play with friends or online, i was waiting for you to review it ,but hearing you talk about the adventure mode and spirits and the classic mode has now sold me, which is why i subscribed a while back and love your switch reviews!
