So have you ever read the story of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by chance?
Everyone's heard the story at least once because it's one of those old stories that entered public domain over a hundred years ago but also still plays well to a modern audience. Every major episodic media that indulges in non-sequitur episodes like holiday specials that have no baring on the main plot has done a parody of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at least once. Good guy Dr. Jekyll invents a potion that makes him better somehow but also turns him into the evil Mr. Hyde who runs riot until he gets into trouble that can't be fixed, no matter whether Dr. Jekyll takes his potion he keeps turning into Mr. Hyde assuring he'll end up dead or in jail so he de-exists himself.
However that's not the original version, the original parallels Sun and Moon so much more.
In the original Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde both men are the same person with the same mind underneath, it's just a matter of what is expected of them. See Dr. Jekyll knows that if he acts out he'll ruin his reputation but he's a repressed victorian man who unspecified desires that are going unaddressed which being the victorian era could mean anything from seeing a womans ankles bare to derailing trains just to hear the sound people inside make. So Dr. Jekyll behaves himself but then as Mr. Hyde he can do as he pleases without getting in lasting trouble as even if arrested he'll simply wake up with his more Dr. Jekyll face again. Same man different expectations. Times goes on and Dr. Jekyll uses the face of Mr. Hyde to get into more and more trouble eventually beating up a child for being annoying which convinces him that he's gone too far and swears off using the stuff ever again. Only he barely makes it a week before he ends up deciding a little indulgence can't hurt and immediately goes on to remove someone from the face of the Earth.
At that point Dr. Jekyll tries going to sleep knowing he'll wake up with his original face... only he doesn't. Something about what he did has made the evil Mr. Hyde the new default and Dr. Jekyll the alternative face that only comes out when using his potion. The potion that runs out and can't be recreated since it only worked due to some unknown impurity that he missed in the original batch.
Sun and Moon seem to have a similar dynamic with a slight twist, they're the same person largely but with two different behavior sets meant to cover two different situations. When one is in charge the other seems to act as their subconscious double checking their work by design but unintentionally being subject to anything the leading personality can't deal with. So Sun pushes his anger and frustrations at the troublesome children under his care as well as his ill treatment into the back of his mind which turns Moon cruel or even vengeful toward kids as a result, Moon in turn takes the anxiety created by how he knows he's misbehaving and pushes it onto Sun making him intensely high strung as well as a control freak. This ends up getting them stuck in a feedback loop where they're both getting increasingly screwed up without a healthy outlet.
Additionally come Help Wanted 2 just as what happened to Dr. Jekyll in his story Sun finds himself increasingly marginalized. Going from being the dominant personality who is out most of the time to being the subpersonality as the dark Pizzaplex leaves Moon mostly in charge with Sun clinging to whatever little safe zones he can create to keep control of himself. But all that stress is only exacerbating Moons worst tendencies until he is full up leaving Sun nowhere to push his unwanted feelings and resulting in him being exceptionally catty to everyone he meets because Moons personality can't process that stuff for him anymore. Activating safe mode definitely spaced them out a little making them less aware of the reality of their situation but it seems to have also purged all those pent up negative feelings returning Sun and Moon to the much healthier state they had before.
Just an interest parallel that seemed worth typing up.

Honestly…. I like the Daycare Attendant muuuuch more now that he’s got personality more than just ‘happy’. I can see the progression from a happy daycare attendant to a tired adult. That line about turning off the light himself makes me think. Switching from Sun to Moon might be like giving him a break. He doesn’t have to control things, doesn’t need to watch over annoying and rowdy kids, and when it’s all over, he doesn’t have to take credit for anything that happened. He went from afraid of his other side to using it as an escape.

@@HolyAlondite That's actually very much like the original Jekyll and Hyde.
In the book, Jekyll is not the "full light" vs Hyde's "full dark". Jekyll created Hyde as an escape from his own morals and auto limitations.
It's the idea that every person is tempted by the "darkside" and everyone wants to "stop being nice" but don't do it because of our own moral and feeling of shame. Jekyll willingly switches to Hyde to be able to "experience the joy of liberation" while having someone to blame for his actions.

I always found the use of pronouns used by Sun and Moon kind of fascinating. Sun refers to Moon a separate “he” and also an other “me”. And Moon uses a plural pronoun as “us”(the light makes US hurt). So I wonder when Sun was trying to coax Gregory out behind the desk, was his use of ‘us’(you’ll get US in trouble). Did it mean Sun and Gregory will get in trouble? Or Sun and Moon will get in trouble?

To be fair; Sun's attitude towards kids might be different from how he acts with employees. In Help Wanted 2 we're a Fazbear Entertainment employee. In Security Breach we're a 12 year old child. No, that doesn't excuse how overbearing and controlling he can be with both, but he comes off as the party clown who acts happy and cheerful around kids until he gets pushed too far. Around adults and employees he's more passive-aggressive, and has even less patience. Possibly taking his frustration out on the adults.

I don’t know why I didn’t realize sooner, but these two are literally Jekyll and Hyde. They begin as two versions of the same thing but become more distinct as time goes on. I have a feeling Sun and Moon have always been somewhat separate ais because the merch shows a lot of differences but the virus ultimately ruined Moon beyond fixing and left Sun to care on his own. The two are definitely one character but are distinct enough that they were possibly two in the beginning. It would explain why Eclipse becomes seemingly a third ai. I love that Sun got himself a real personality because the fake one was disturbing. I remember saying out loud "NOPE" when he first dove into the ballpit in Security Breach and that was a common reaction from many players so HW2 letting us see The Real Him was refreshing, especially since he was likely interacting with an adult (Cassie's dad...)instead of a child. When dealing with kids, he puts on a Happy Face (TM) so he doesn't upset them (and get complaints to the staff) but with adults? He can be himself. Also, Moon not being The Booty Warrior until things started getting all Afton-y is a nice touch because looking back, there's no way Moon would've been able to get away with his behavior for long without being disciplined (Freddy vs. Vanessa) and reprogrammed to be more cooperative. And as Squidward like Sun is, he still cares about the kids' safety which was why Sun was so scared of Changing post Glitchtrap arrival because he KNEW something was wrong. He KNEW he needed help but was abandoned, leading to his sadness in Ruin and Part 2 of Arts and Crafts. HW2 happened mainly when there was still hope of him being Helped and repaired so he could become Eclipse so he maintained his authentic Sass with coping mechanisms. Realizing that he was left behind to suffer forever led to him melting down openly instead in private like he would've when things were normal/first got Afton-y. Sun is just as horrified at The Booty Warrior as we are and doesn't want him to be in control. Eclipse is Safe Mode Freddy/the original reprogrammed bot that was moved from the theater to the daycare. Eclipse was programmed in to make him more cooperative and sweet, which Sun didn't mind because being Eclipse means that he's happy where he is and that The Booty Warrior Moon is firmly under wraps. Compared to being forever frustrated from a demotion or being a complete psycho, Eclipse is a perfect solution. But as usual, all of this essay is just me being a good Theorist, LMAO. I hope Steel Wool doesn't listen to the vocal minority of feedback of saying the Daycare Attendant got too much attention and walk back everything because that would be a shame. We'll see after Into the Pit, I guess.

The saddest part of Sun & Moon really is that Vanny/Vanessa knew they were there and left them behind after everything she'd done to them. Sure, she couldn't do much I imagine, but she still caused something like their downfall. It shows some kind of parallel between her and Gregory. Gregory destroyed all those animatronics (sure, trying to keep himself safe but some things were a bit far) and just left them like that to escape. I feel like part of Moon going "no more Sun" is some tormented, tired part of him SCREAMING for a break, relishing in the excuse to shut off all the child-safe programming and just let himself go wild for a bit. It's the desperate cries of an overworked minimum-wage employee seconds from going berserk supervillain mode on their boss after their first approved vacation day in two years just got cancelled so someone higher up the ladder could take off instead. When the burnout is so intense, it DOES hurt physically to try and force yourself to keep working, so Moon being hurt by the light in Ruin is very understandable and absolutely miserable.

Well not dead but his data or memory has been wiped and deleted, and that was his last final words. Notice his tone he sounds quiet, weak and a bit happy as if he's thankful that he's dying. Which is quite sad, when he begs Cassie to reboot him which is a hard reboot. He knows it's a hard reboot, he knows it will wipe his data and memory basically killing him and that's why he begs for Cassie to do so, he wants Cassie to put him out of his own misery and suffering. A little off topic but the "Happy Birthday" line of Eclipse always bothered me. Hear me out, I know the most plausible interpretation is that it is just a prerecored line stored in his database that he's randomly saying upon activation.
    BUT
What if, he actually recognized Cassie ? I mean, she did spent a lot of time in the Daycare. In a time where the DA were friendly and (presumably) happy with their job. So, if Eclipse is an "old save" of the "original" DA. The one that was actually taking care of her when she was little, he could have recognized her and knew it was her birthday.
I mean, Sun didn't even let Gregory WANDER in the playgrounds but trusts Cassie enough to ask her to litterally stop Moon and reboot them, I just find it odd.
But yes, Roxy notes Cassie's Birthday is in the 11th (implying we're not in the 11th but still a close-enough date she could have booked up her party), and Sun refers to her as a "new" friend, so it doesn't really add up, I guess...

I think Moon tearing down the fort Sun made in HW2 absolutely tracks. Me and my friends theorize that the little "hideyhole" where you play BBworld is actually Moon's room, and Moon's safe space. But you see by the time of Security Breach, colored electrical lights are all running through the room, which we think Sun installed to keep Moon at bay. Moon, even if he's not in his right mind, sees this as Sun encroaching on his dark safe space, and in retaliation breaks the arcade machine, and dismantles Sun fort. Sun isn't allowing Moon to have a safe space and Moon feels entrapped by Sun.

It's worth noting how Moon's mechanic works. When Gregory Blinks. (something that doesn't happen in any other part of the game) Moon will take that as an invitation and rush toward you immediately to jump you (probably to put you to sleep) Most of the time he just dances in place rather then actively pursue you during the hourly recharge. You just need to be not looking at him most of the time. He's kinda like a weeping angel in that way. So I think the dreamy affects around the sides of your vision are Moon trying to hypnotize you

As the host of a DID system, I have always viewed the Daycare Attendant as being very similar to a DID system as well. I bring this up a lot in conversations about FNAF seeing as it's a new angle that not many people consider. I believe that Sun, Moon, and Eclipse are different alters in what I am calling the Daycare System. While I initially thought Eclipse in RUIN to be an integration/fusion of Sun and Moon, that final "thank you" from Sun leads me to believe that our rebooting them actually brought Eclipse out of dormancy, which would explain their seemingly delusional belief that there will be kids in the daycare again. An alter coming out of dormancy can be very disorienting, as time has gone by without them, and there is usually a lot of confusion as the alter has to grapple with what is basically time travel, for lack of a better description. I am very passionate about this headcanon of mine, and I do have an essay in the works about it where I go way more in depth and really pick all the details apart that would support it.

I really liked the Daycare Attendant before, but I just love them now.
I do think Moon wasn’t always evil. I also think Sun genuinely likes children, but he is burnt out. Honestly, I wasn’t always a big fan of FNAF, but seeing the Daycare Attendant *MADE* me a fan, wanting to understand their lore and how they fit in to the world made me want to get into the games.
I know they aren’t a huge part, but to me they’re the most interesting part. Maybe I’m lame, or I just identify with them a little too much. I just can’t help but love every part of them, Sun and Moon.

I love deep dives on this character. I love this character. I wrote a 470K word fanfic about this character. I can't get enough of him. I really liked your thoughts on a potential cut boss battle, that made so much sense and is an idea I haven't seen anywhere else! Thank you for making a video on these guys :)
Here are some of my thoughts about the subjects of this video, in no particular order:
Sassy Sun fanfics pre-HW2 are rare, but did exist. To me, they always felt like the closest to canon, even before we had sassy Sun confirmed. You're right that the signs were always there. He's stressed and anxious and frustrated, overbearing, ten seconds away from falling apart even in Security Breach. That being said, I wrote him as sweet in my own fanfic just because... I wanted to! haha. I think a lot of writers aren't writing Sun and Moon differently from canon because they misinterpreted it, they're writing the two that way just because they can. I read every DCA fic I can get my hands on (anyone reading this if you write a DCA fic please send me a link immediately, I will devour it) and everyone writes Sun and Moon differently. I think that's more because it's fun than anything else.
I don't think Sun is always as snippy as he is in HW2. I think that's always there as an undercurrent, but I don't think he's always like that around the kids. My interpretation is that he's being mask off about his frustrations because he's in an arts and crafts test with a worker. Yes he says "bad kid", but I don't think he literally means "you are a misbehaving child." I think he's saying "You are doing a terrible job at taking the role of a kid at this simple task" or maybe "You are taking the role of a kid in this test, and you're acting like a bad one." Notice how the desk the player is at has a built-in shredder right there, and Sun immediately shreds art even after complimenting it. I know the pizzaplex isn't exactly big on safety, but there is NO WAY they built a shredding desk for daycare kids to sit at. What we're seeing is most likely a test of Sun's arts and crafts functions being performed by a worker, and that means Sun isn't putting on his happy persona like he tries to do for Gregory in SB.
Though Sun is frustrated and stressed and burned out, it's clear he genuinely likes things like arts and crafts. He sings a sad song about missing that in Ruin, he seems genuinely happy when you select the googley eyes in HW2, and in the mask off minigame he assumes that arts and crafts is something so appealing that risking your safety for it is something that makes sense to him. I think he really does enjoy what he does, he's just- well, you put it best- burned out! He hasn't been treated right and he has grown frustrated with something he loved.
I don't think Sun and Moon are one person. I don't think they're two people, either. I think they're intertwined, overlapping, never quite apart not quite together. They refer to each other both by name and as the other me. They are aware the other might act in a way they wouldn't. Sun threatens to turn the lights out like a mother threatening a kid with "wait until your father gets home." They use both "I" and "we." They are two halves of the same whole, working independently and together at the same time. Eclipse isn't a reset, he's whole again (even if he's a bit of an airhead, and maybe not seeing the situation for what it is because of safe mode activating.) Sun and Moon exist within him, because they are him. Sun is both working as half of Eclipse and able to thank Cassie personally. Or that's my interpretation, at least. I really don't think they'd intentionally write Eclipse as a secretly depressing personality wipe or mind jail when Eclipse was meant to be a sort of bonus thank you for the love the game got from the DCA fandom. If I recall correctly, the voice actor described Eclipse as the two born anew (thus "happy birthday"), not reset.
I hope we do get to see more Moon. Control or corruption or aggression, whatever is going on I agree that something is up with Moon in SB. But in the HW2 secret ending, there's no more red in his eyes. Vanny has Moon retrieve the last vestige of glitchtrap for her, and she crushes it. I don't think Moon is being controlled anymore, he's voluntarily helping out. Though I doubt the story will go this way, it would be amazing if we could see a good Vanny and a good Moon either fighting back against various evil forces or even just enjoying being free from control.
Sorry this comment got so long! Probably should have expected that after the "470K word fanfic" part hahaha

I have a theory about eclipse! what if we didn’t actually reboot the daycare attendant as a whole, we just rebooted moon
his voice is slightly deeper than sun’s, just like moon’s, and he is present when the lights are off. sun still being conscious is also interesting to me- if we can hear sun saying thank you, shouldn’t we also be able to hear moon screaming and upset?
eclipse’s calmer voice seems much more inclined to lulling kids to sleep than excitedly playing with them, too- I suspect that eclipse is actually just how moon was intended to function instead of being a 3rd party

    • @Ninten110dogs
      @Ninten110dogs หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Okay, someone actually said it. I've been thinking this for awhile now! Sun and Moon are still separate AIs (as we can see by Sun speaking to us separately) and always were meant to be separate, but the Glitchtrap virus ruined Moon, causing him to become murderous, which stressed out Sun, who had to keep Moon under control. But after the reboot, whatever issues Moon had were resolved and now they've fused together as the Safe Mode protocol, which is Eclipse. They are both able to be in control of Eclipse, and both able to speak in this persona (as we hear Sun's voice and quite possibly Moon's "fixed" voice as well). Fusing like this is most likely something they've always been able to do before the glitchtrap virus, and was meant to be a temporary thing for emergency use, like escorting a child out of the daycare. I believe if their physical body was fixed, Sun and Moon would be able to function separately, as Sun or Moon, respetively. And they probably work perfectly again, since Moon would likely no longer be under control of the virus, and Sun as a result would be happier as well, since he isn't having to lose sleep over trying to contain his murderous alt. We'd have the happy, sunny Sun, and the nice, calm Moon. And in the situations it's needed, they could go into safe mode and be "Eclipse".

My theory is that Sun was originally the bubbly, friendly bot we saw in Security Breach but gradually grew tired of his job and became snarky. His friendly personality being reduced to nothing but an act. Which is rather ironic considering the Daycare Attendant was pulled out of the Fazbear Theatre to be just that, a Daycare Attendant. Also the comedy and tragedy motif with Sun and Moon is a nice touch.

I find it weird how calm Moon is compared to Sun. Like sure, he gets frustrated and angry when he needs to stop chasing Gregory to clean up some barrels or when he fights for control with Sun (and also with lights, but that literally hurts him), but these things are reasonable things to get upset about. Unlike Sun, most of the time when there’s a minor inconvenience he seems to just laugh it off, like in the foxy game in HW2 where when you close one of the panels in front of him, he doesn’t yell or anything, he just moves into another area to try and get you.

Loved the video overall, especially the deep-dive into Vanny and Moon's possible (or rather, almost certain) connections. Though I was a bit surprised by how you didn't bring up their origins in Tales From the Pizzaplex. While they don't really directly contradict anything in the video, it's still really interesting and I'm surprised to not see it in an otherwise very thorough video. I do think it enchances the understand of Moon especially though, as it could offer insight as to why Vanny went "yeah, that one!" instead of using easy brute force like Monty as her "puppet".
"The Sun robot was an old stage animatronic. Part of its theatrical schtick was to turn evil when the stage lights went off. When it was reprogrammed to be the day care attendant, the performance functions were taken out, but the darkness trigger couldn’t be removed. That, combined with the occasional blackouts in the day care, created the Moon side of the attendant, which results in several undesirable behaviors. Apparently, they had meetings about what to do, and they decided that fixing Sun was more trouble than it was worth. It’s cheaper to just make sure the lights stay on." - Bobbiedots, Part 1

Both because Ruin discredits it, because it accidentally refers to Glamrock Chica as yellow and says Foxy is there, and because, like, Fazbear Entertainment straight up lies about their animatronics all the time. What's more believable- Fazbear Entertainment rounded up a dozen highly advanced theater robots and stuck them in daycares with the exact same generator issue 'because', or they just lied?

I remember seeing a post on Tumblr where someone theorized how since Help Wanted 2 is basically an in-game universe training simulator, that the personalities that Sun and Moon have are not their actual personalities. Basically the theory states that Fazbear Entertainment imagined these personalities and then put them in the training simulator. That and also we play as most likely an adult who works for Fazbear Entertainment. It would make sense to Sun to shred our work because we're an adult, we shouldn't care. This is all just for training. And while yes, Sun did kick Gregory out of the daycare and not check on him, he never explicitly threatened turn off the lights himself and try to get Moon to catch him like he did in Help Wanted 2. If anything he seems afraid of the Moon. In fact, that's what the entire daycare section was about. Sun can be sassy with the workers, but he won't really lash out on the kids.

44:22 So after we leave the Daycare Attendant in his Eclipse form, he doesn't actually clean up. He goes down into the sinkhole, sneakily so that we can't see him, goes to were we find the Mimic, seals the opening behind him with concrete and steel, becomes the Mimic and then continues his Grimic thing to get us to free him out of the prison he build for himself so that he can kill Cassie. The MXES does nothing to keep him captive and he doesn't even want to leave the pizzaplex, he just wants to play mind games with whoever stumbles into the pizzaplex and then kill them when he gets board of them. Where did the walking talking learning algorithm learn this? He didn't, he was always capable to do that.

I love this!!! It makes so much sense. I've been a DCA Tumblr theorist for a while now, but could never reach a solid conclusion like this.
I'm actually pretty glad you didn't really use the books as proof in this video. Whilst they were undoubtedly Fazbear actors at some point, the way the book contradicts the games is frustrating, with them being transferred post glitch-Moon, generators already there, yet Ruin reveals Cassie had napped and played with Sun/non dangerous Moon IN THE DAYCARE. But they've ALWAYS been glitched in the Daycare in the books.
Maybe Moon's murderous tendencies only kick in after hours when there's on one kid, similar to the SL animatronics - which might be why he never attacks in the books, and only SCARED a kid in SB. Perhaps Cassie, a kid used to animatronics , wasn't scared by non dangerous glitched Moon and so he really did just follow normal nap protocol then. Maybe we'll find out more in the future.
To be fair, it's probably more so a lack of clear communication between the writers and game Devs, and they probably didn't even realise they would add that contradiction in Ruin, but as far as we're aware the games are to be taken as canon OVER the books if something doesn't add up.
Maybe it was a miscommunication, or maybe Fazbear really did lie to their employees about Sun and Moon, but either way, I love how you've picked at even unused content and tied it all together so perfectly. Good job!

I think the Safe Mode uses some of the data from the last time it was activated (especially with Sun and Moon) to formulate a personality so the party receiving help from them, most likely a child, wouldn't be frightened or scared when Safe Mode Eclipse is trying to help them. Not to mention the last time Roxy saw Cassie was around her birthday (Not saying Safe mode was activated on Cassie's birthday but it's interesting that when Cassie and Roxy see each other Roxy asks about a party for Cassie.) That's why i think that Eclipse is unaware of the things around them because their data and personality is based on when they were activated when the daycare was still functioning properly. (This event could probably be a child climbing where they shouldn't be, due to the calm voice Eclipse has and the short explanation that Cassie shouldn't be up where she was and the immediate want to place her safely on the ground.) Eclipse may not be emotionally or really situationally aware, but he does a much better job of taking care of the children (or at least from what we've been shown of him.) than both current Sun and Moon.
Another thing could be that Eclipse was the one who was supposed to run the daycare. He seems like a pretty good blend of Sun and Moon, at least how we know they were before the glitches and viruses. Sun and Moon may have been programmed in for the people making the animatronic to be able to take someone personality and Ai from each and blend it together to make a perfect caretaker. However, after the glitches and viruses they may have had to take the Daycare Attendant in for repair and discovered that their perfect blend, Eclipse, was corrupted enough that they would need to start over again. Thus, they set Eclipse into a simple basic Ai mode and began to try and work on putting him back to the way he was, but Fazbear Entertainment being the crappy company it is, most likely said "Just throw the thing out with the two personalities and don't bother fixing it we need to have that thing back and running the Daycare!" So, Sun and Moon were used as the two personalities of the Daycare. Things were great for a while but neither personality was meant to be fully used every day all day every week and their flaw in their personalities and code began to show through, not to mention the virus. Moon became a terror and Sun became over-bearing, snappy and in my opinion not a very good caretaker, especially for young children.
Going off into a different direction but the same concept, i saw someone mention (not sure if it was this channel or someone else.) that Sun and Moon were meant to perform in the Fazbear theatre which is located near the daycare. Sun and Moon may have been personalities/characters meant for this theatre which could explain their extreme personalities. Moon could play the villains, and Sun the good guys and with the assistance of a worker controlling a light they could switch between the two. This may not have worked out due to the pain and the reluctance of each to give the other control of the body. Fazbear Entertainment may have just decided to scrap having this story time play idea and just plopped Eclipse, with the alternate personalities meant for the theater, into the daycare without realizing how much of a problem it could be. The lights are super bright in the daycare, which is like a spotlight being shone onto something, which could trigger Eclipse to turn into Sun and the lights going out in the daycare being too dark which brings out Moon. Which only super bright or super dark lighting it could only let either Sun or Moon shine locking Eclipse away. The reason Eclipse may not know about what is happening is due to his lack of use. Without the proper lighting or proper reset Eclipse would not have been able to receive information from the world around them due to Sun and Moon always being in control. (Little side idea, Eclipse could be locked in Theater Mode which is Sun and Moon.) This would mean that Sun and Moon are on a sperate system than Eclipse which does make sense seeing as Eclipse doesn't show any signs of the virus or of what's going on around him while both Sun and Moon are affected by the virus and they know what's happening in the daycare and with themselves.
Thanks to whoever reads through my rambles which are definitely not being written as an avoidance of my homework

Sorry for being late!! Can't wait to watch this video!! Your voice is so awesome, I love listening to it!
I always thought Sun's "YOU ARE BANNED FROM THE DAYCARE" is kinda cute, because he acts like this is the worst thing in the world, and certainly the worst thing he can do when he's mad, while all the other animatronics--besides Freddy--are trying to kill you. Its very childlike and cute, at least I think so.
Interesting, I've gotten to the help wanted part, and keep in mind I've never played help wanted so his personality shift is news to me, but when I think about it, its not surprising.
It seems to me Sun somewhat shows signs of Mania, (Keep in mind I'm not a psychologist, and haven't done extensive research on this) He's hyperactive, talks fast, doesn't sleep, and does a lot of things in this state, bouncing from one topic to another quickly. Another symptom when your in this manic state, is to be more temperamental, and easier to aggravate.
As you mentioned in your other glamrock videos, as these robots are sentient, there programmed personality will only be some of it.
Fazbear entertainment wanted cheerful, upbeat, constant energy, and so they got mania.

That’s so sad when eclipse thinks kids are coming, he is stuck in a endless cycle, almost like he is getting his hopes up for nothing . 🥺🥺🥺I love the daycare attendant the first scene I saw him before I even knew he had a moon side I loved his quirkyness and then when I found out he had a dark side ((moon)) I loved him even more…

So wait, is HW2 implying that Sun is a self-aware werewolf? Fully aware of his "other self" but cant control it, unless the lights are on?

To be honest, the way he reacts to Gregory turning the lights off made me think he was always aware of Moon's liability, even back in SB

    • @BrightWulph
      @BrightWulph 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

@ultimate-phenix Oh yeah, I got that vibe too. At the time, I theorised that Sun and Moon were different personality constructs but shared a database so they knew which kids were supposed to be in the daycare, when their pick-up time was, allergies etc (also refuse to believe that Sun was in there on his own, but given FazEnt's past, I wouldn't put it past them.) And that Sun realised pretty quickly that something was wrong with Moon. Because now I'm thinking that Sun and Moon were never meant to be separate characters, but the same one, with Moon being his "night mode" (the animatronics were never given a proper night mode in the originals). Maybe Sun received a software upgrade which is how the Glitchtrap virus got in but somehow it only affected his night mode, thus causing Sun to unintentionally split from his night mode thusly creating Moon, who eventually split and maybe caused by a learning AI to develop its personality and become resentful of Sun. Kind of like Gollum now that I think about it.

@@BrightWulph I know it's a strech but I like the idea of Eclipse being THE Daycare Attendant. Like the guy who was supposed to be the dominant personality originally.
Sun and Moon could have easily being some minor "modes" that somehow gained independance (maybe because of the virus).
I mean, on the Fazmap, the symbol for Daycare is a fused face of Sun and Moon, with Moon's hat and black left faceplate AND Sun's rays and white right faceplate. Looks like Eclipse to me.
Even if it is possible Eclipse is more of a "retroactively somewhat coherent addition" than a "bot that was hinted by a map" XD

    • @BrightWulph
      @BrightWulph 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@ultimate-phenix I can see that even at a stretch, it's also possible that Eclipse is just not safe mode, but customer service mode which would explain why he's so docile and how Sun is able to speak through him still.

Idk if this makes sense because I’m pretty new to FNAF but I always felt like Sun and Moon are supposed to tell a bit of William Aftons story. He’s yellow when actually himself (like Afton in Midnight motorist and the movie) and purple when a murderer. He also dealt with children a lot, was not well mentally and once got stuck in the evil form (like springtrap) until he actually accepted just being his evil form.

Sun and Moon are such interesting characters. The question that bothers me the most is the fact that it seems much older than the other animatronics, as you said it has a similar endo to the mimic and as the books say, he was a theater animatronic, and his obviously old design is an artistic choice for the theater or the fact that he is older ? I don't know if my translator will have correctly transcribed what I'm saying, and thank you for making such interesting videos on fnaf, I'm in love with your content

    • @notrealnamenotatall2476
      @notrealnamenotatall2476  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

I don't think it's actually that much older. I think it has to do with the designer of DJ Music Man and the Sun/Moon being different from the designer of the Glamrocks. XD
