I have a VNL 760 2020. I have driven Volvo trucks for years. A lot of good stuff. However, I do have some minor issues with the lay out of buttons and controls. It seems that the Volvo interior engineers have never ask an experienced 'truck driver' about what is the best placement, type and design for controls.
Nice looking truck. I wonder if they addressed the common problems on the previous models like premature rusting on the bottom of the doors and paint leaving the frame after a few years. Very common to see 8 year old Volvo's with rusted through holes in the frame. Typically by the catwalk area.
lexusfan100 Yes; two are full flow, one is bypass filtering. That extends oil change intervals and engine lifespan dramatically. Wish Cummins did this on the big X
@@VolvoTrucksNorthAmerica Thank you kindly for your quick response, got some questions as well what model is the truck shown on this video specification tittle says VNL 860. Its (Globetrotter?) and where are your Volvo trucks showroom located in USA that's the truck I want. 👍
Driving a 2021 currently. I will say the engine is rock solid and super efficient but the build quality is not up to par for the rest of the truck. Too many cost cutting build measures that means reduce reliability in the future.
I don’t think this setup is very good for going out west through mountain terrains. They come with a 2.47 rear ends... These turbo compound engines don’t run 505hp instead what it does is run at 405 hp and uses that “turbo compound” to gain the extra 50 horsepower to get 455... I wanna see this truck loaded at 78-80k pounds and I wanna see how it runs and what fuel economy it produces. I would be skeptical as hell if I was buying one of these trucks. Not many people have 170 grand to play around with.
D13 is power limited compared to Cummins. Even with the Cummins, Volvo still won't let you get a high TQ motor anymore like the D16xe 500/2050 @ 1050rpm
Charles Pyatt they’re focused on performance and efficiency, lowering total cost of ownership through uptime and fuel efficient features. “Power” and HP only go so far...
Yeah, cummins might have more power. But, I have experienced oil and coolant leak after 400k. American made never ever get to the level of reliability when it comes to mechanical engine. European engine is far superior than american ones.
@@Rokomarn you mean, assembled in America, correct? I do not trust American workers when it comes to manufacturing business. American workers craftsmanship and ethics are nowhere near Europian and asian levels. American workers are horrible in factory or shop!!!
No thanks, I dont approve of the leftist marketing of Volvo (with a built in speed limit on CARS and whatnot), so I will not be affiliated with Volvo trucks either. Freightliner it is.
My 2024 is being built this week in North Carolina. I can’t wait.
I tried Kenworth, freightliner, and international. I believe volvo is the last hope for truckers!!!!
All cars and trucks look so luxurious.
volvo is the best

@DikoMan My experience is CDL class A Driver for 26 years. Seven or eight years in Volvo trucks. Hope that helps.
Please give a license for Volvo vnl for the american truck simulator.
думаю наше желание тут не имеет силу !

Gear Bangin i wonder too... My guess is no because the cab looks almost identical structure... Mostly plastic styling changes
Charles Pyatt they have - stop by any Volvo dealer and see for yourself. I’m sure they would love for you to take one for a test ride 👍🏼
They been talking about this engine for past two years. And I have yet to see any of them in North America. There in Europe now but not here yet.
Love you volvo trucks 2018
are those 3 oil filters cartridge for that engine??!?!
lexusfan100 yup. They go through a lot more miles between changes.

It is really a dream to own and drive such a truck, but the financial means to own it are limited
I drove vnl 860 for company going thru Nevada at 75 it gets 5.9 mpg just like the previous model
АН Дольнабой по США too fast buddy, drive 65 and you will get better,i drove 2016 and it was getting 6.5
@@vasacsl63 I have a 2013 it's governed at 65 gets 6.7
you need to drive for fuel efficency.....I was getting 8 mpg consistantly. 2013 780 xe pkg. running at 62mph.
Wish I could afford one of these
I wonder what's the average mpg for a heavy truck mostly NW route. Say 75 to 80k lbs
Volvo Trucks North America what's the color on this particular Volvo VNL 860 showed on this video? Silver? Blue?
Hi Rafael - The color of the truck is Smoky Mountain Blue.

Bring back the D16
Preston Rubin Agreed!!! Bring back the D16 !! And turbo compound that in XE trim with updated fuel system and cups !! High TQ at low RPM
Preston Rubin No way. D16 was the worst ever.
@@lucianciani8179 Even though I'm focusing my future career on trucking, I have no idea what the D16 was.

I run a 2015 d13 around 120k up some hills and it makes it... Eventually. Not sure this turbo would make much difference.
0:46 - Wonder what the camera on the passenger side does. I see one on the center of the windshield that seems like the usual location. Curious :D
Shreyas This is sensor for adaptive cruise control

Cool system, why Volvo don't use Cummins engine anymore ?
vin They do. The new Volvo vnx can use a 500hp d13 or new Cummins x15 with 600 hp.
Okay cool thx
They also offer Cummins 15L on their VNL

greet truck
But I can't drive trucks 😢
Nop. No D13. To much down time. Again too many things that can and will break.
And you are a bullshit.
DD15 did it 1st
65+ most off the time so....
I have one of these engines at 70 mph it's rpm is 1064 it has no power at all cant wait to get rid of this boat anchor what a joke
Drop it down a gear then lmao.
Nothing....
