I had a 2014 KW T660 with a Cummings 450 HP, I bought it used, I ran the truck for about 2 years, and out of the sudden, the engine blow out a hole on each side of the walls of the block, this the 7 engine that I know that they have this problem, some mechanics won’t recommend Cummings, cause the problem that they blow out with out no reason.

We taught the earth how to make vehicles and engines with interchangeable parts. Henry Ford, for the big one. We rebuilt Japan after the war and all the DNA in their manufacturing goes right to the USA
Sorry, the USA taught the earth how to build vehicles and engines starting with Henry Ford - with interchangeable parts. All manufacturing DNA in Japan leads to the USA from our helping them rebuild after the war. The UK in turn taught the USA the mechanics of machinery in the 1800's and we ran with it.

We run Kenworth and Peterbilt truck’s hauling product up and down steep grades in Colorado most of which are powered by the ISX 15 & X-15’s. We’ve found that the ISX 15’s run to about 300,000 miles and become plagued with problems that lead to full overhauls. We’ve rebuilt two of them but after becoming more familiar with the issues they have we have decided they aren’t worth fixing. Engines have gone from a lifespan of over 1,000,000 miles to 1/3rd of that which is not cost effective. Our X-15 powered part of the fleet has been much less problematic but they are still in the fairly new category so time will tell. Hopefully they are better than the ISX 15’s have been. In my opinion if you have an engine failure of a 2010 or newer truck, you will get way more life out of it by replacing the engine with a pre-emission model which comes with a warranty than by rebuilding.
Pavle Pajic I used to work at Scania in the workshop. Nice looking truck, lovely to drive but the engines can't hold a candle to Cummins Volvo are behind Scania in the pecking order.
EVER HEARD OF A CAT. ISX HAS A 1 PIECE HEAD LIKE A CAT. BECAUSE IT'S BETTER THAT WAY. STILL CANT TAKE TO MUCH POWER INCREASE. TURN UP A CUMMINGS, ENGINE'S FAIL MECHANICALLY. TURN UP A CAT, RUNS GREAT. UNTIL THAT RIGHT FOOT GETS TOO GREEDY. THERE'S A REASON WHY GLIDERS WERE MAINLY BUILT WITH A CAT FOR POWER. OR 12.7 FOR ECONOMY. BUT NOT MANY CUMMINGS WERE IN THE MIX. N-14 IF ANY.
I'm glad to see some things produced in the USA. I'm so damn sick of seeing things sold here in this country, not to mention sold in other countries, produced in China.
+Jason Carpp Cheap Products. Given the parts are from another area, the quality and response time of those companies when something goes wrong is actually spot on. The Quality Control aspect is actually pretty good, so there is a trade off there. American Made parts seem to lack the response time of the overseas companies. I used to work there, and the majority of parts are manufactured overseas, but they go through a quality check system about 15 times before the engine is even painted, so the quality is there, but the Manufacturing location is just in another area.
+Brandon Coccarelli That doesn't make *any* sense. I would think that it'd take less time for the product to reach its destination if it were produced here in this country. If it were to be sold in Asia, I would accept Made in China. Or Made in Australia, if it were to be sold in the South Pacific countries. But for the North American market, I'd prefer something made in either the USA or Canada, or Made in Mexico, for Mexico and South America. I would think it would depend on the country to which the product were to be sold.

I had a new Volvo a few years ago it had 400 N 14 engine it ran and pulled better then the IXS motors in the other trucks we had.i took the tractor too Allentown Mack the mechanic came out with the computer box and he set it up right.i think its sad that they turn the power down on trucks now .trucks on the turnpike run at 65 too 68 thats it companys want too save fuel .Ryder JBH Sneider and other trucking companies drivers run the passing lane too much and get mad at you when you pass them thats sad.i think too making big horse power engines like a 400 too 550 are a waste of time. Please people i have driven a 18 wheeler sent i was 17 years old i m now 54 .my dad drove all Macks and is 84 now wow.trucking is fun too me drivers .if you buy your own truck have them set it up like you want thats all.i got two speeding tickets in my life one when i was 19 and one back 2002 people be careful out there God bless.
i wish peterbilt with give O/O better engine options choices to make then this pile of dung.. i 'm about to purchase a new truck and i just don't want a cummins, i want my old trust worthy DD15 which i've never had no major problems with, i replaced the small top coolant line on the passenger side, also it was weeping a little oil at the rear of engine block above starter, all fixed under warranty 'I'm about to turn it in this year with 460K miles on my 2012 freight liner, before this my company trucks had cummins which were always down and in the shop until i started driving a truck with the DD15 i just trust that engine, it has never let me down, i know that drive line with the eaton fuller 10 speed together they made me a lot of money. but now i want a 2017 peterbilt 389 but what is holding me back is that it has that stupid cummins in it, very frustrating, if i must i'll get another truck with the DD15.
charles V- I agree the DD15 is pretty good. I never had issues with it either. The only problems I ever have with the ISX15 is the after treatment system. If they can make one that works, that'll be awesome. I know the emissions crap is annoying, expensive, and doesn't sound as good, however I'm no hippie but I like the whole less pollution movement.
I need that trailer to hook up to my truck to see what's wrong with this x15 boat anchor... Feels like I'm driving an old 80's cummins... Of course it doesn't help that the exhaust hits a 90 degree brick wall not more than 20 inches from the turbo so it can get down to the power and fuel economy robbing DPF... Diesels need to BREATH, the epa is choking the crap out of them....
Blah, blah, blah, typical infomercial! Cummins is testing their product on the end user time and money. They're so darn shameless in dealing with the end user after purchase that they manage to frustrate even the most loyal customers. Typical North American warranty program that cater only to their biggest customers while ignoring and frustrating their small customers. It's all about their profits so they can make videos and brag about how good they are. If you're a small end user, like an owner operator trucker with one truck or a small fleet, they couldn't care less if you go bankrupt while fighting with them to honor their warranty on those junk engines they build. For example: they never fixed the rough running and missing at idle, the rough running at low ambient temperatures and the oil leak between the flywheel housing and engine block right above the starter in the pre common rail ISX/Signature engines. The one piston air compressor is extremely noisy and low volume.
i want a new pete, but they have that stupid cummins engine which i hate, and i don't now much about a paccar either, so its either take it or leave it.
charles V; Brother, I don't really have a good advise for you! The engines are not the only problem here with the North American produced commercial trucks. It's the whole darn thing, the whole design that's an engineering nightmare and built with the cheapest and shittiest components. DO NOT buy a PACCAR truck, be it Pete or KW with that PACCAR / DAF engine in it!!! I'll tell you why: That engine is being developed by DAF in Holland (Europe) and it is engineered to be installed in a COE (cab-over) truck. It's a very good engine if it would be left alone the way it's built in Holland, with all calibrations and parameters the way it's set over there, but the fu*king North Americans (NA) morons have to modify key components, calibrations and parameters to suit the NA bullshit cronyism. Keep in mind that the European truck manufacturers are completely vertically integrated. That means that they manufacture themselves or contract other companies to manufacture for them parts and components especially engineered and unique for the trucks that they build. That engine being designed for their COE trucks, it futures a unique design of the engine head which allows the camshafts to be removed sliding them out of the engine head towards the rear of the engine instead of at the front. For them it makes life allot easier because there's nothing in the way at the back of the engine in their COEs. Here in the conventional Petes and KWs you literally have to remove the whole engine out of the truck in order to replace a camshaft because you've got the cab firewall just an inch or two from the back of the engine. So, I hope I showed you how stupid truck building in America is and why not to buy a Pete or a KW with the DAF (paccar) engine in it. It's not the engine that's the problem! It's the rest of the junk that's the problem!
Hereintranzit ive been driving a 2013 daf xf105 for the past 4 years and its dropped a liner twice first time@ 300thou 2nd time@ 650,000kms. a matter of fact i think we have about 10 in our fleet with the mx13 paccar engine and theyve all dropped liners anywhere between 300-600,000kms. paccar said it was just that batch of trucks but ive also heard there playing up in other companys. other than being abit weak on the hills there awesome engines. quiet, alot of down low torque, best retarder etc
I work at the Cummins Columbus technical center. I can assure you if there is a problem with any of the engines we test them in very wide and extreme ranges. We even still test some ISX15's with the older XPI Fuel system to trouble shoot and solve common problems. Were always trying to troubleshoot and find the weak links in every engine platform. as for the warranty program I don't know much about, I only deal with the research and development side of the business
justin maschino get rid of EGR please, send everything into those filters but please can you do something so the exhaust doesn’t go back into the engine
sticK&Clutch.... if it's built for either "automotive" or industrial applications.... it will be Red... whether you order it, or not..... Unless, it's a factory Re-man engine of the older "855" platform... then it Will come in "Cummins Beige" paint... unless it's for some other application other than automotive or industrial use. The Cummins N14 & M11 truck engines were all in Black paint, except for the Owner Operator spec'd N14 (with the 460 hp rating) which was Black, with Red rocker covers... nick named the "red head" engine. The marine versions use to be in White.... as were, many of the Cats. The only other paint color exception for the earlier "855" block in hd truck use, were from Paccar.... parent co. to Pete & KW during the very late 1960s and early 1970s, when they ordered the Cummins & Cat engines painted in White, but the Detroits remained in their factory "Alpine Green" color.... except for those that were shipped to International Trucks, they ordered them specially painted in "International Harvester Red".

ISX = It Sux nothing runs like a Cumapart. Try fixing the cams running flat and the cranks spitting the rods out the block. You fix those problems, paint them Yellow, and call them a Caterpillar you might be on to something.
Alot of Love/Hate Felling for these engines.. I just bought one to run my log splitter.Plus it comes in Red.
MC 2 lol this guy^
Please supply your next generation of engine for all automobile field
Our l10 has done over 30thousand hours built in 1990 and still going well never have to touch it very much uses 1 liter of oil every 15 hours its a very good engine I drop the oil 🛢 and filters every 250 hours .
Australia loves Cummins
your engines are only good and reliable as the people working on them.
charles V and the people driving them

You sound like a Union guy 🤔
I think 2 million miles on a motor that’s never been opened that doesn’t shut off for 6 days at a time is pretty good.
Please do something about plunger disintegration on the fuel pumps.
Then you'd have a motor last a million miles
Some of the best diesel engines you can buy for money!
if thats how you feel about it.
Gracias por la industria de cummins su información.👍

Awesome video!
Had a Peterbilt with a Cummins explode at 160k miles. They produce better motors for pickups Than semis. I do like N-14s but I'd rather have a 8v71 or a c-15 or 3406

Very interesting! But in our work we have Cummins 6isbe from China factory and they have very very low resource, like 250-500 thousand.
Good engines an glad to hear that their employees are involved with activities like clean up the environment ! 👍👍

i hope you thanked the Japanese because they showed you how to do this the did the same thing in the EU and UK
Wrong.... Quite the reverse
Best engine made. Period
why dowa cummina use different paints- red-green-tan
Color depends on use of the engine. Red now is over the road. Green is a Generator or equipment. Tan is offroad also.

i wonder if the local union people learned a lesson. That union almost destroyed jamestown. Art metal company just shut down out of buisness.

Benjamin Ball for sure, deleting them helps but I think the ultra low sulfur fuel is partly to blame also?
Nothing compares to Cummins.
Pavle Pajic your having a laugh surely? Volvo is not even in top 3.
+Jason Carpp the majority of parts on those engines are made in other countries, like mexico and china.
+Brandon Coccarelli What?! Why China? Mexico, I don't mind. But China? Why?
+Jason Carpp so! a lot of machinery and trucks made in China and Russia Cummins engines and ZF gear box and axles!i'm hungarian truck driver.in hungary manufactured for 5 years allison automatic truck and bus transmissions!no problem!us made and hungarian made transmission equally good!

hi ben türkiyeden yazıyorum .uzun yıllar değişik motorların revizyonunu yaptım.cumminslerin v8 855 cummins ntta big cam kt 19 vs .Ancaaak cummins kt 19 serilerinde bir hata buldum.bu hatayı türkiyedeki birçok ustalar göremiyor ve subap enjektör ayarını yanlış yapmasına ve enjektör memesi kırılmasına hatta iticilerin eğilmesine sebep oluyor.Bu makinedeki hatayı söylüyorum. Motorun önündeki titreşim damperindeki sente harfleri.yani A B C .üst ölü noktalarını gösteren harfler.

Nice modern plant... with Americans working and making the best product they can...

i wish peterbilt with give O/O better engine options choices to make then this pile of dung.. i 'm about to purchase a new truck and i just don't want a cummins, i want my old trust worthy DD15 which i've never had no major problems with, i replaced the small top coolant line on the passenger side, also it was weeping a little oil at the rear of engine block above starter, all fixed under warranty 'I'm about to turn it in this year with 460K miles on my 2012 freight liner, before this my company trucks had cummins which were always down and in the shop until i started driving a truck with the DD15 i just trust that engine, it has never let me down, i know that drive line with the eaton fuller 10 speed together they made me a lot of money. but now i want a 2017 peterbilt 389 but what is holding me back is that it has that stupid cummins in it, very frustrating, if i must i'll get another truck with the DD15.
charles V- I agree the DD15 is pretty good. I never had issues with it either. The only problems I ever have with the ISX15 is the after treatment system. If they can make one that works, that'll be awesome. I know the emissions crap is annoying, expensive, and doesn't sound as good, however I'm no hippie but I like the whole less pollution movement.
Get a glider with a cat that's what I'm going to do!

why are the people interviewed have a strange stare or look
I need that trailer to hook up to my truck to see what's wrong with this x15 boat anchor... Feels like I'm driving an old 80's cummins... Of course it doesn't help that the exhaust hits a 90 degree brick wall not more than 20 inches from the turbo so it can get down to the power and fuel economy robbing DPF... Diesels need to BREATH, the epa is choking the crap out of them....
Wait James town New York?
No point in Powerstroke or Duramax if you don't Cummins in the End 😅
Tony Stark ordered his in RED.....I want Cummins POWA in RED too
sticK&Clutch.... if it's built for either "automotive" or industrial applications.... it will be Red... whether you order it, or not.....
Slick ten minute commercial.
