I agree, Kellen will stay in touch so be prepared for phone calls/emails, letters/cards/etc from him. Plus visits whenever his family will allow him to travel up to Alaska… I honestly would not be surprised if Kellen kept in touch via the channel as he watched the new videos posted.

I just lost my Queen. 😢 My 82 year old beloved Auntie. One of the Matriarchs of the family. Watching this video made me think, if only we all had an Alaskan Cabin to go and feel good and at peace. It’s so beautiful and peaceful. God bless you, Mr. Joe and Parker. Please stay safe and keep me in your prayers. I’ve never felt this sad in my life, and I lost my mom and my 38 year old son a few years ago. But, she was my world. Love you, Ms. Tina!

My dad did his trout fishing and I hiked but drove everyone crazy. Loved it then, sorry I cannot do it now as a senior. But biscuits I can and did make! Another point I find delightful and familiar is that in my 56 years of marriage, my husband has been the quiet and strong pole from which my enthusiastic and colorful flag could fly for our family and in my teaching career. I loved my job and was good at it, but things are different now so I am glad I am retired. I talk too much....sorry/not sorry.
I was happy to see you all three going on your journey to the remote cabin, but I had tears for Kellen, as he was watching this too mostlikely, and missing you all terribly, and the fun he had while with you. I had heartache for Parker, as I know he had to be missing Kellen so much while sledding down that hill. I have heartache yet for you and Joe, as the parents of Kellen while having him, to the best of your ability, nurturing him and teaching him. I pray each heart involved gets comforted. I pray that Kellen's mom can see what you and Joe can give and teach Kellen, that a single mom can't. I pray she could love him enough to let him come back to what's best for him. Winter brightness is a thing! Even in VA, I tend to wear sunglasses more in the winter months compared to the summer months. We all have to keep moving forward, no matter how much our heart is breaking. My heart hurts for your whole family and Kellen too. I am so happy you have been in communication with him. You were the stability and structure he needed. That being said, your family still needs to have fun and find your new normal. Your remote cabin is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. It's just beautiful. Yummy meals too, you and Joe are great cooks!

Made them with a chicken dinner. You are a darling. Blessings to all of you in this adventure you are kind enough to share with those of us who are happy, but out of necessity land 'lubbers'. In my youth, all of our vacations were in the High Sierras, living in tents, with my gourmet mom making delicious food on her Coleman stove. My dad did his trout fishing and I hiked but drove everyone crazy. Loved it then, sorry I cannot do it now as a senior. But biscuits I can and did make! Another point I find delightful and familiar is that in my 56 years of marriage, my husband has been the quiet and strong pole from which my enthusiastic and colorful flag could fly for our family and in my teaching career. I loved my job and was good at it, but things are different now so I am glad I am retired. I talk too much....sorry/not sorry.
I was happy to see you all three going on your journey to the remote cabin, but I had tears for Kellen, as he was watching this too mostlikely, and missing you all terribly, and the fun he had while with you. I had heartache for Parker, as I know he had to be missing Kellen so much while sledding down that hill. I have heartache yet for you and Joe, as the parents of Kellen while having him, to the best of your ability, nurturing him and teaching him. I pray each heart involved gets comforted. I pray that Kellen's mom can see what you and Joe can give and teach Kellen, that a single mom can't. I pray she could love him enough to let him come back to what's best for him. That's hard I know, but sometimes we have to hurt to do what's best for our child. There is no color of his skin in your world, but there is in his right now. There is no division in that color up here, but there is down there. I love you Watson family, and Kellen if your reading this, that means you, sweet young man we have grown to love. ❤

Good to see you at the cabin in snow so you can really relax and not feel like you have chores like mowing etc. The dogs are amazing. Im going to try your pastry and bread recipes. Im so tired of seeing bioengineered food in the stores. It makes me want to throw it on the ground. I mostly buy organic but food prices keep escalating.

I miss seeing Kellen with you guys. Honestly, when I saw the first video where y'all were gonna get Kellen for a year, and go from there, I knew it would end this way. I was hoping it wouldn't, but I knew that it would. At least y'all had Kellen for a year, and, more importantly, Kellen had y'all for a year. All you can do is keep doing what you're doing and hope and pray for the best. I love that kid, and I never met him and didn't know him. Stay safe and God bless.

Winter brightness is a thing! Even in VA, I tend to wear sunglasses more in the winter months compared to the summer months. I just looked at your Christmas card on our fridge yesterday and was thinking of Kellen, wondering how he was doing. It is a relief to hear that he still has contact with you all that his Alaskan family could still be there for him.
