    Thank you for checking out this video of us installing a AuCar Tesla style screen into my 2006 Toyota Tacoma. This unit will fit any Toyota Tacoma between 2005-2015, so any 2nd gen Tacoma. I have a link to the product above along with a promo code you can use at checkout. This install was not near as hard as I thought it would be, and the manual will help color in anything I missed in this video. It took us around 3 hours to fully install, but that was also with all of the filming for this video as well. I want to give a huge shoutout to AuCar for sponsoring this video. I plan on making a video going over the ins and outs of this screen once I have had it for a few months, so be sure to subscribe so you do not miss it!. Q:Which Tacoma years will this head unit fit?
    A: 2005-2015
    Q: How to select "with JBL AMP" or "without JBL AMP"?
    A: If your Tacoma does NOT have the factory OEM JBL amplifier system, please select" without JBL AMP", Otherwise please select "with JBL AMP"

    Thank for the video. Seriously thinking about getting this upgrade thanks to what I see here.
    I have a 2010 Tacoma with the backup view in the rearview.
    Question: Is there a way to connect that existing camera to aucar screen?
    Thanks again.

    • @ZachHollenbaugh
      @ZachHollenbaugh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! It should have a wire harness and connection that just plugs straight in the back of the unit that will automatically connect to your backpack camera and the screen. It also has the option to add more cameras to get a birds eye view of the car, but I have not seen that hooked up yet so don't know much about it.
      If you have any more questions be sure to reach out!

    • @ZachHollenbaugh
      @ZachHollenbaugh  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It should fit 2005 - 2015. I've had it a month and it has been smooth and seems to be quality so far. I mainly use it for carplay, but I can do handfree calling which I love. I think it looks a lot better as well. You can change the brightness on the screen with a few taps on the top left, or go into more exact brightness in the settings. If you have no tech in your 2005 I think it's worth it for what you get. I'll be making a video at 6 months showing people how it's holding up, but so far I like it a lot. Adds a wow factor to that I like. As far as worth the money I think it will depend on what you have currently, for me it would of been bc I had no tech or screen. If you have any more questions just let me know!

    Someone should make a wire harness kit for where we don't have to splice for converting the backup cameras to the head unit! I've been on Tacomaworld Forums, and I don't want to to have to go through the time consuming process of having to mess with wiring just to have signal in a new head unit for getting backup camera signal.

      So they have a newer model than mine out now. Mine still works pretty well, a few small bugs on it, like the time changes back one hour ever time the car restarts for some reason, and the Ac always starts when you turn it in, but besides that I've had no real issues. The pros outweigh the cons for me personally!
