Dude, the way you get people to light up like when they were kids is 100% of the reason I watch this channel. That payoff must be absolutely intoxicating.
It's the best part of doing detailing work. Dripping with sweat and super gross, covered in polish, after a 7hr detail - a lady wanted to take my picture with her car because it was so clean that she wanted to save that memory and moment and the work that went into it. Was very rewarding.
The detail was absolutely amazing. But seeing the car run and taking him on that joy ride was heart warming. This was beautiful and i am glad you were there to experience his first ride since it's been parked.
We need more people like Pete´s dad in this world, they remember what real hardship was like so not only value life but also don´t take it too seriously either.
Hey Larry, I just want to say that I’ve watched a lot of your videos and to see your own growth as a business, a detailer and now a MASTER MECHANIC aswell as the love and inspiration you put into the vehicle, the owner, and the backstory behind it is amazing!
I love watching these Larry. It's so obvious that you really care about the cars themselves, their history and their owners. You're just as excited to see the end result as they are. Love that!
Larry, your work on and off the camera is without parallel within TH-cam detailing as I watch others not staying on point, not editing to near perfection like you and not selling products that are absolutely excellent. Everything t I've ordered from AMMO is fantastic and shows the relentless work and due diligence you've put into your brand. As detailers, pro or hobby, we are all driven by an "OCD" gene so stop and pat yourself on the back, you deserve everything you're working towards. Quick story; My neighbors wife spray painted some chairs right next to her murdered black 2021 Range Rover and you know what happened. After clay and just the right amount of machining it looked brand new. Pad selection and constant compressed air cleaning was the key... which I learned from you.
This video truly hit me I used to fix and restore cars with my dad before sadly he passed away but if he was still here today I would've dragged him to my computer to make him watch this video. Absolutely heart-warming video the shine from the car and your friend Pete's father' smile is priceless
Larry you are one of the kindest most passionate people on the planet, not only in your love for detailing but for the way you care for the people around you. It’s an honour to watch your videos and be inspired by you!
I would say the reason you are the best isn't just because you are a tremendous detailer, but you are telling a story. You do it better than any other detailing channel. I wish I had your gift and ability!
Many people nowadays know how to detail a car and might use expensive materials to do so and might even produce better results. However, this is not all about detailing, this is about the experience, the emotions and the connection between the owners and the cars. Great content and most of all, all the beautiful reactions you can see from people kind of make you wish you want to experience this too. Please keep it up!
This channel is why I started my own detailing business! To do videos like this is one of the goals, thank you for all the inspiration, knowledge, and time taken to make these videos Larry!
More than just a great detail video. A heartwarmer for sure. My dad came back from the Battle of the Bulge in WW2 with a love of MB's. We had several W180 ponton sedans of this genre. He passed away in 2020, but his estate still includes a restored 1959 219. I once cleaned it up after several years in the barn and his eyes lit up just like that gentleman's. 😍 The 219, a parts car and a host of spare parts are all for sale (outside Albany NY) if anyone is interested. Thanks for restoring memories and the beauty of these magnificent automobiles. 👍🚘🙏
Damn those ninjas cutting onions, so happy that old chap Tony had the chance to experience his ride once more. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Larry for creating content like this.
Man that ending makes it all worth it. I love seeing the process and the care you put into everything you do but seeing the end always feels good. Your not getting paid in dollars Larry your getting paid in priceless memories.
Absolutely touching seeing the old man see his car again. My grandfather was also in WW2 and Korea and later did work with the OSS I really really wish I would have been able to spend time with him. Cherish the older generation they won't be with us forever and their stories and experiences are absolute lessons to cherish.
Not just about the cars Larry... Its about the stories and about the family sometimes... Well done and keep up the great work! Keep up the health to all!
My 1967 190D used the same wheels/covers/trim rings. I thought it was cool how MB color keyed the wheels and covers to the car. Great detail job! Pop and son were certainly tickled.
Wow. Seeing his smile when he realized his Merc was all done up....reminded me when I was a kid and my Great Grandfather getting his 31 Model A running...Going for a ride with him and riding in the rumble seat to the drive-in for an ice cream cone. The simple things....thanks for sharing and bringing back a great memory.
Larry, you always get me with these damn little 2 door Mercedes resto vids. And this one even had me crying at the end. Seeing Tony in his Korean war veteran hat (my dad also served in the Korean war) so happy like a kid at Christmas had the tears streaming down my face. Thank you for these great videos.
I did get a little misty. This is why I watch your channel. Sometimes it's the transformations, sometimes it's to relax at the end of the day, and sometimes it's the story that grabs me. Korean War Veteran... Thank you for fighting for the freedoms I have today Sir. Thank you Larry for bringing us along again. Semper Fi.
Like X 1000. Wow. Great episode. The car isn’t the worst we’ve seen Larry Drive and Protect, but the positively, genuine and overwhelmingly appreciative response from Tony is priceless. Larry continues to knock them out of the park. Absolutely the best content available.
What a great vibe!! Larry doing his magic for this adorable family.. with a Clio V6 in their garage!!😳 Doug Demuro had to borrow one from a whatnot museum as if it was the only unit in the US, and there’s another one hidden somewhere inthe tri-state area😍
So so satisfying! And for that family, to have this episode of their dad and that car forever. Priceless.

Larry, your work is very valuable! At the same time that you make beautiful transformations in the cars, you provide incredible moments to people related to the vehicle, taking care of the affective memories and stimulating happiness. Congratulations and best wishes, greetings from Brazil !!💪
I was in tears watching this restoration. What a beauty brought back to life. Your products are amazing. I will never have a car like this but I can love her from afar. Thank you for posting. It’s so similar to my 68 karman Ghia.
I had goose pimples when the old man said "Oh my God... Oh my Lord"... It's my Mercedes... it's beautiful..." And his smile was priceless! IMO, this 190SL should be fully restored (ie, repaint, rechrome, etc etc) and auction off for millions!
Whenever I’m feeling anxious or upset I come to your videos, they’re so relaxing and just make everything wash away while your videos are on. Love them keep it up
The bond between a father and son is beautiful, especially when the father becomes like the son (dependant and weak) and in his times of need, his son is there in his life to give his old father strength and joy. A truly magnificent bond mashAllah.
So much to enjoy here. The reaction of the owner, a Korean War veteran, was priceless. The usual immaculate work by Larry and getting the lovely car to run. Great video all round. No matter what folk say: cars are more than just inanimate objects.
It has to be such a thrill to see reactions like this for the work you do. It was heartwarming to me to see Tony light up like that! Thanks for videos like this!
This was one of the most precious video's I've seen transforming this beauty Mercedes, for a 94 yr old! WOW, BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU GUYS FOR DOING A DEED WELL DONE!
My favorite type of video. Not only does the car look beautiful, but the reaction of the father and son are priceless.
Dude, the way you get people to light up like when they were kids is 100% of the reason I watch this channel. That payoff must be absolutely intoxicating.
What he said. Amazing reactions....I can only imagine the feeling and nostalgia seeing his baby run again.

Is this mostly a donation for all the fabulous cleanup he does on these cars?
@The Amber Heard Playlist!! Who is Amber heard? This is a car channel
What a great restoration. THIS is what it is all about. This is the reason why vehicles need to be restored. Did you see how happy he was?!
They cleaned it, not restored it lol 😂
@@user-427.commodore fair enough this job is beyond of just simply "cleaning".
Car is not cheap either
Almost made me tear up Larry. The pure joy that man exhibited was perfect!
I'm not crying your crying. lol
Yeah, someone's cutting onions around here or something.....
Larry's gotta post a frickin disclaimer for the last couple of tear jerkers
The detail was absolutely amazing. But seeing the car run and taking him on that joy ride was heart warming. This was beautiful and i am glad you were there to experience his first ride since it's been parked.
23:37 = the 1st time I've ever teared up watching a detailing video, thanks Larry! You really are a miracle worker
We need more people like Pete´s dad in this world, they remember what real hardship was like so not only value life but also don´t take it too seriously either.
There are endless amounts of people suffering hardships today, we do not need to wish for more of them.
What are you talking about dimwit
Well said.
Pete is obnoxious af

This is remarkable, father's reaction brought me to tears. Something truly special.
watching these datails has become a routine for me at work in the morning, nothing like starting my friday off with some polishing therapy

The father’s reaction 😭😭 This is one of the best ones you’ve restored!! ❤
Absolutely heart warning seeing the joy in that old man.
Man, those last 5 minutes after the reveal I could not stop smiling, what a great time. I love seeing the joy you brought Tony.
The elderly gentleman's reaction was all you need. Amazing detail and gift to this person.

Nothing better to kick off the weekend than an Ammo NYC drop!
These rescue episodes keep getting better and better.
This might be your best revival, yet. Tony's reaction is priceless.
Larry, the teacher we all need

THIS. Is now my favorite episode of D+P. Ever. The way he *felt* the car at the end was magical. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Very cool presentation. Seeing the father light up seeing his Mercedes back on the road was priceless!
I like how each detail has its own lessons buried inside of it, waiting to be brought out through the project. Love the work
So fun to watch Dad’s reaction to his car brought back to life and a joy ride to remember! Family is so special. And I love the car!
Another great video, and priceless reaction from the owner. Thank you for your service Tony and enjoy your car!

Such a great video and Pete's dad is awesome. Since the first video I watched of yours with the 280SL barn find, I always dig barn find details.

EASILY one of the best videos you've ever posted. WOW incredible!
Such a great video! The reaction at the end was so priceless! Always an amazing job Larry! Keep up the good work!
Restoring busted old cars with applied techniques and seeing the owners reactions are the best kind of Ammo vids
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE !
Larry at this point I have to say…this is way more than just detailing and cars…it’s one great heartwarming story❤
Greetings from Italy✌🏻
Man, I love it, when you showing just a bit more story about people and their cars.
Such a beautiful and sensitive video Larry, sometimes it's the story that outshines the paintwork! Great work, a priviledge to watch
