You are the best. I have been through so many tutorials claiming they will teach me how to make a song and not one made any sense, but yours explained everything perfectly. Thank you so much.
By far the best tutorial for new F! Studio users . It can be very tricky to get started on FL Studio if you have never used software of this type before . I myself have saved hours of wasted time just by viewing this video a couple of times . Well done DrShankums keep up the great work , cheers Paul
I still get surprised at how many views and comments I find on this video. I have decided the direction of the series I would like to start. I'll be needing to build a new pc and get a few pieces of equipment together before I can start, but ill be going in depth into music theory and how to create your own original music and how to apply that knowledge to fl studio. Please continue learning on your own if it really interested you. I have every intention of making content, I just have to find the time and funds to get back to it. I hope to have more videos started in the coming months. I appreciate everyone patience.
I don't usually comment, but I think this one is worth it. The roller coaster of emotions you've put me through tho. First, I found this tutorial, and I was very surprised and delighted to see such a great tutorial. Second, my happiness was ruined when I clicked on your channel and saw that this is your only tutorial, and then finally when I scrolled down the comments to see you are still active and have plans for doing something new, anyway, that's all I wanted to say haha I wish you all the best with that direction of series, building your pc and getting new equipment. You have a new fan who cant wait for that series to start :)
DrShankums That would be amazing bro this tutorial taught me a few things , I would love to see more help from you in making beats because I barley started and I'm working on an Album at the moment , so I need to make my own Beats haha

Please make more tutorials. And if possible, can you show how to make different styles? (Currently trying to figure out Indian and Flamenco). Awesome work and hope to see more!
you are awesome. you are so upbeat and positive. I already know the basics to FL but i like to get others prospectives. You kept it interesting for me and you sir, have earned a sub. good work :)
4:40, I use the scrub wheel a lot for working out music by ear, if you have the original song in the background playing and are trying to work out the piano roll notes over the top of it, there is a lot of stopping and starting, the scrub wheel is great because it lets you stay on the piano roll screen without having to click on the playlist to check what you have done so far. Great tool for people like me. Nice video by the way. Easy to watch.
definitely one of those rare useful tutorials that guide you step by step how things work and help you know what you're doing in FL studio. thank you very much!
I've been watching other, more complex tutorial videos, and they just make my eyes glaze over. I have no clue what they're talking about. Thanks for doing just a short lesson with concrete examples. Before watching this, I didn't even know where to begin, but now I know how to start making compositions a reality.
Hey afrotchmods, you're the best , hope you put up lots more electronics videos, they were a big help to me. Now I've got time to get back into my music, by the comments here I can see this is a guy that won't be leaving out details that matter. Take care my friend....
Afrotechmods can you make a tutorial serious for brand new (brand new ... first day) beat makers/ producers and teach the roots of the tracks and mixing and such cause i just started and I really need to catch up
Awesome!! simply the best. I've seen many tutorials but this one in only 1 video cleared up all my doubts. Thanks and I'd like to see more tutorials like this.
yes I do, I get really busy with my indie film work so it's coming gradually, but I plan on releasing more especially now that I have some actual projects and examples to release.
This tutorial was really basic and it this was exactly what I was searching for. You made me understand the program more then I did before. Great tutorial man and thank you for helping me being better!
Nice work, DrShankums! I loved the tutorial, and it helped me out much more than any other beginner tuts. Not too basic, but still brushing on all the basic details.
Hey everyone, I'm back from the dead! Finally got a hold of a new pc, so I can finally get back to making videos again! It's been a minute since I've used flight studio, I'm currently in the process of brushing up on the program. If you have ideas for the next tutorial, I'd love to hear them. I think I may focus on live instrument recording with flowers studio next, what do you think? In my off time I'm usually busy working with Open Sign Productions and horror hive making awesome videos, like our let's slay series. Check out one of my favorite episode, Queitly Sharting LETS SLAY- OUTLAST - Part 6 - Quietly Sharting :-/: th-cam.com/video/t7XZ9CwMjSE/w-d-xo.html
aggelos kokolo Just turn the program off, and use it a different time. It works for me now. I googled it and apparently it's a bug. It worked one night after that I used it.
I got FL studio 2 days ago so I don't know any technical words but can someone pleaseeeeeeee help me, why sounds like SiFi and Pure bass 8 keep playing themselves for the rest of the song after their pattern is over? the sound overlaps and it's driving me crazy :( (sorry for my english too!)
hello and thanks for this amazing guide about beatmaking, but i never tried Fl Studio ...have you created music with BTV? i want to know if Fl Studio is better then BTV? ...because now i'm making my own sick beats only with BTV ...and after that my tracks are uploaded directly on my youtube channel ...and the complete beatmaking studio cost me only $7 and my laptop
Hi Dr. ... I would like to say just thank you very much for your help, you make it look so easy and in fact it's so easy by the way you explain. Very, very helpful your tutorials, as very well explain. So calmly, and easy to understand.
man you are the best teacher!!!!!!! you took your time for this and i have clearly understood your tutorial .....thanks a lot :) its the tutorial ever ever ever!!!!!
I've never used garageband, but when you hit record there should be a window popping up and 5 choices, you want to choose the one that says "Automation & Score". Then just hit space, wait for the metronome to start, and play. If that didn't answer your question, let me know.
Awesome video mate nice one! Been looking for a simple video starting from scratch without some annoying guy talking for days......finally found one! Really helped me a lot cheers bro! Big up :D
Honestly. Best video tutorial out right now, By far. Thank you soooo much. Good job explaining it man. Thanks so much i hit that like button and shared with friends.
Thats really what i was looking for, as i was so confused about how to get started with making of a music from scratch as i have no prior knowledge.. every other channel has explained various stuffs but i could'nt find any of them explaining the first music creation which a begineer would create having no knowledge at all. Thanks mate :)
Thank you so much, I've been looking for an easy to understand tutorial about making the patterns into songs, this has been extremely helpful thanks a lot!!
You got my compliments on this tutorial. People who want to start using Fl Studio should watch this. I just found your video by accident, cause I was looking for how to extract vocals from songs. :P But, well, It's a nice vid and I just wanted to show you my appreciation about that. I think It's cool you uploaded this, so that new 'artists' can learn how to work with FL Studio. So again, nice vid. :)
Welp, 2 months after this helped me get the idea of what FL Studio is, I'm already on the way to making some real music. But the confusion time would be much longer without this video. Thank you, really.
DrShankums Do more basic stuff like this! Love your way of describing everything in detail, it made this the perfect tutorial for me who just started out :)
you have no idea how much you have helped me, your at a good pace, good quality and explain everything perfectly, I just recently bought FL studio and I would love it if you could contact me and kinda give me a private lesson to get a more in depth session, thank you. -Oneil
I'm building a new PC in a few days, expect a new "series" of tutorials in the next few weeks. I have a lot more tutorial ideas in mind. Everything I've learned was from years of playing with the program, so I know how difficult it can be to start using FL studio with no prior knowledge. I can't wait to get started, and I hope to help as many of you as possible.

Thank YOU, for this TUT-orial. Just spent money on FL studio and it was kind of like someone dumped a bunch of stuff into a program and said "alright here ya go" which is nice, but I do not know how to use the stuff dump. This gave me an excellent idea of FL studio's workflow!
This tutorial was really good man, you actually took the time to touch and identify some key tools. thanks a lot. Please I would like to know how to make a song last for several minutes. say 4 or 5 minutes, just like the duration of an average song or track. I have learnt some stuffs on FL but now I need to know how to extend my patterns for instance to may be 4 or 5 minutes or any number of minutes. all I see don't last up to that. hope you understand what I mean. thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot man!! Thanks for taking your time and being explanatory as much as possible, thanks bro.
i don't even use FL and i was searching for a tutorial on making a melody.

Why you stopped to make videos your are awesome
Great tutorial! Quick and easy to follow! Thanks!
Great tutorial. Gets straight to the point!

It's File>Export>MP3>Choose destination>and adjust the quality settings to what you want. You can also export as a .wav and other formats, and you can export .mp3 and .wav at the same time. When you've finished with your settings click start and it will render the songs.
Note: You cannot export songs with the demo version of FL studio, or atleast that was the case a few versions back.
thanks for this tutorial. It's helping me "on the road" a bit more. TNX
Sir, please do an in-depth follow up video about secondary dominants etc. Your style is great and very clear. Also you should consider doing a whole music theory series. Your clearly know your stuff and know how to transfer that knowledge without any bs! 10/10!!!
Definitly want to expand on this, been busy with work but ill be back soon with exciting news
Thank you sir. Subbed and looking forward to it! *turning on notifications*
First video that is understandable for a beginner. THANKS

This is really helpful. I want to start making music, cause i have not really a plan how it works ^^

Hey, thanks! This was much more helpful than the other "beginner" series I was watching. I like your less technical approach... much more comprehensible for us noobs (and you're easier to listen to!). =)
