      One things that I hate on piano roll, I can't figure out how to fix it. But when you go to put in a new note next to another note and all the of sudden, your cursor changes to stretch and you can't put a new note next to the other note.

    Been an FL Studio user for 5 years now. I would have never got to where I'm at today, without your tutorials and advice. You are seriously the most informative channel out there. If I owned Image Line, I'd be paying you to make the official FL Studio Tutorials. Living legend, thank you for everything.

      Thank you so much! Funnily enough, I did actually work with them to make some videos a few years ago but it took too much away from my own channel and professional work. We created some really cool videos together!

    Michael, I just want to say, that without you and your one-of-a-kind channel, I would never be in the place I am today musically. I have been subscribed to you for as long as I can remember, and still am for obvious reasons! It has been awesome to see your channel grow and continue making great, high-quality, educational music production content to this day. Keep it up, man!

    One thing that is rarely mentioned is the very well written manual. FL studio has always had a great help file that is always being updated. Includes diagrams and well written descriptions of all the features, and some even include example uses one would overlook or not think of. It is based online now cause its grown with every update, but it can be downloaded as an offline file if wanted. Its great for learning everything FL has to offer

    Hey Michael! Wanted to reach out and express thanks for the non-stop excellent FL content. Theres so many subjects that many can't explain simply, and you've managed to strip away every ounce of confusion in the process. Keep killing it and I look forward to reaching out one day for mastering services when I start releasing music 😎

    One (or two things) that helped me keeping my projects clean and organized is the „purge unused audio Clips“ and „select unused channels“ Option.
    I used to get pretty messy in an intense session but those features definitly change it.
    Keep the great work up. Just can agree to all these wonderful congratz comments.

    Throughout my career I have often come back to tips and tricks you have posted as they are some of the most easiest, digestible and knowledgeable tutorials for FL Studio there is on here! Thanks for all the hard work you do to help others! Even tho I have been signed to big labels, done quite a bit... you can never learn too much! I still spend no less than 2-4 hrs a week just learning, or watching others produce, or sound design tutorials. It all helps!

    If only every vid that was created in order to educate about audio production was as precise as that quiff and this vid. Good job, Michael. It's undeniable that you're one of the best in your game. I appreciate the lack of reliance on gimmicks and tacky thumbnails.
    I use the ultimate version of Reason and I own the comparable versions of Ableton and FL Studio. There's so much more technical potential in the ones that I'm too afraid to explore; it's like a megalophobia. FL Studio seems to be far too complicated for my aging brain... but I'm getting there. I'm getting close to the realisation that Ableton with FL Studio and Reason 12 as VSTs might be the best way to proceed.

    I'd love to see some more workflow and recording improvements for those of us who use FL for live instrumentation (guitar, bass, piano, etc). I also really wish FL would fix the hi-hat CC problem where you always have to map it every single time you want to use an electronic drum kit. Still not recognizing the CC info after closing and opening a project the next day, in effect making the hi hats all trigger open. Giant pain in the butt, and I usually use another daw to track drums and then import the stems afterwards. Very clunky. Anyway, you're the best. Thanks so much for the wonderful information you provide to us - even long time (circa 2004) users of FL. Cheers!

    Hello namesake😊 To be honest, I feel quite overwhelmed by all the topics and technical terms one encounters when making music. I also sometimes find it difficult to accept that I can process information at a slower pace. That is (in addition to my limited energy and time) an important reason why I regularly stop producing for a period. But I have to say that thanks to your "down-to-earth" approach, calm way of explaining (and tone 🙂) and the clear expression of your passion for music, you encourage me to take up this hobby again and again. And to embrace every small step in the ongoing learning process.
    Therefore, thank you very much for all the explanations you have already given on various themes. Finally, I hope and wish you that you can continue to make music with great passion for many years to come and help others (including through this channel) develop on their musical journey. Kind regards from the Netherlands!

    Michael, when you are in Slice "C" mode to split clips, if you press "Shift" and then click, it will split where you click without dragging the blade tool every time from top to bottom. 6:10 In regards of this, I've had mixed/inaccurate results with the beat detection function: in the end I have found/decided that it is much more reliable to stretch the loop to fit your project tempo/grid than using the beat detection.

    • @mclegitim6433
      @mclegitim6433 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, i have some troubles with it too. For drums you can definitly do it your way but its more complicated with samples, where u cant directly see the drum waveforms

    • @ArcenyHax

      I find it usually detects the half speed of the beat; I usually times the suggestion by 2. Time stretching is easiest though

    Thanks again for the effort and passion you put into your content. I'm not familiar with the shortcut you used to add a volume fade to the end of the audio clip, or how you could change the volume from the center of the clip itself without delving into automation. Detect tempo, in my experience does not produce the most reliable results. Also, if you have imperfect playing (most of live, not quantized recordings) the tempo shifts as playing occurs so maybe that's why.

I'd really appreciate a tutorial to stop peak output fluctuations, especially when applying a kick or snare roll pattern. I've tried the cut self function but peaks still change. May the peace, blessings, and mercy of God be upon you :
    My dear brother: As you communicate with FL Studio, I ask you to do two things, if possible, after your warm hope.
    1- Requesting the company to introduce the Arabic language to the program, at least to accept the Arabic language in the nomenclature, as was the case in version 10.
    A - The possibility of including quarter tones, i.e. oriental musical scores, in the program to create oriental scales such as rast, bayat, and sika...
    All thanks and appreciation to you.
    My name is Yasser from Syria and currently a refugee in Türkiye

    • @inthemix
      @inthemix  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sure that requesting Arabic language support in the forums would get the ball rolling on that. It is probably quite challenging but I know of a few companies who take on jobs like this.
      As for the microtonal support, I think the best bet is using samplers such as Kontakt and synths like Serum which support Microtonal/quarter tones.
