I lost 30 pounds in 3 months, after trying everything else that never worked. It was hard at first, because it was a mind shift, and I had to accept a slow & steady progress but was easy at the same time because I stopped living for a number on the scale because with the slow steady loss, I FELT SO MUCH better. My motivation was how good I felt. I didn't omit anything I wanted, so I can do this forever! I did track everything I ate, which was easy using an app on my phone, and I kept my calories at 1,500 and ate delicious, healthy, filling food so 1,500 was actually very doable. If I went over 1,500 then I went for a longer walk. I also incorporated hand weights & squats 3 times a week and walked my dog a bit longer each day. No crazy workouts. Foods I love that contributed to my 30 pound weight loss, low sugar Greek yogurt, cottage cheese blended into my eggs, turkey sausage, avocados, potatoes with my eggs for energy, organic oats soaked in protein shake and powdered peanut butter with berries. Bell peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini cooked in flavored olive oil and delicious fun spices. Quinoa or jazmin rice for energy with a protein and veggies. Berries over low/no sugar Greek yogurt sprinkled with low carb granola. Ya'll. High protein, high fiber carbs, veggies & berries and water water water. Low sugar Buffalo sauce & other healthy sauces over chicken & put in a low carb wrap or egg wrap with veggies. Air fried carrots sprinkled with parmesan cheese! Y'all, that's where it is at!!!! Delicious food for energy. Do I still have pizza, Mexican food, chocolate? YES, but I don't crave it all the time like I used to. Slow, steady change & my whole life has changed!
Thank you for the examples of food. I have started intermittent fasting for 16 hours eating at 10/10:30 am. My first meal has been a low carb Oĺè taco size tortilla (2 carbs total) red & green peppers, mushrooms, red onion and tomato with feta sautéed in olive oil with a over medium egg. Talk about being satiated and, bonus blood sugar has been 95 waking after my 16 hr fast. Totally doable. I will try some of your ideas👌
@@mybrookee1 Also loooove cucumber salad. VERY low calorie and loaded with flavor! Diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, fresh mint, feta cheese & little bit of chickpeas for protein & add salt, pepper & lemon juice. Sooooo good. Pair with grilled chicken or salmon or other protein to make it a meal.

I had a partial hysterectomy almost 10 yess ago so I was in hot 🥵 flash nightmare for a long time & a slip and fall accident soon thereafter so I was on tons of meds and a few surgeries. I stop taking my hot flash pills & several meds & immediately starting fasting and my weight is coming off. I’ve never had an issue with being overweight in my lifetime. I’m happy things are going in the right direction.

I WISH I could get decent sleep. Nothing has really worked. Magnesium glycinate helped for a while but lately that's not working either. Menopause messed with my system so bad and I haven't slept well for like 10 years now 😢

Yea calories in and out is pretty simple but its not a easy thing to implement if your arent already having amount of desired cals already. With anything there is a shift or a change happening there if its not normal for you. However our body can get used to new habits. If you get appropriate cals in and out (we naturally burn 2000 a day without any activity) then you will burn without a focus on the "diet" you just have to be able to go with the effects of that and in the end your attitude is the best weapon against the push back your body gets from that or from changes. The ideal thing is to have nutrient dense meals with the cals in and out. You will react better to it and can have a better attitude naturally from it. Not mentally orchestrated. Which can in itself be tiring and stressful in beginning if you dont know how to deal with it. If it was easy everyone would do it but we have to help ourselves when chips are down. With this a positive mentality will be your best weapon.
When I don't eat, I am not hungry, but when I eat 3 meals or snack; I am more hungry. So, I only eat pretty much 3 meals a day, but the weight still doesn't come off. Whatever. I do hot yoga, pilates and treadmill 6 days a week, makes me feel good. My weight has always fluctuated, guess it will never change, but then I am 61, but didn't matter. 21, 31, 41, 51... I felt good at some point in those decades, but just do you.
The problem for me is two-fold ... if the meal is delicious, I consume more to enjoy, even being full ... if not delicious, something is missing ... snacking begins, looking for satisfaction ... Warning!!! Apple Cidar vinegar is not for everyone ... for me, it didn't work well with High Blood medicine ... 😮
Dr. Mindy Pelz on TH-cam is the fasting queen in my opinion. Check her out if you want to. Her whole channel is about fasting. I've lost 60 lbs fasting. I usually do a 16-18 hour fast for 4-5 days a week.
Electrolyte fluids to drink are safe. If you're doing workouts, because your body when it's sweats loses salt. You should not be drinking electrolytes every day. It's not healthy for your body. Only if your sweating or you're throwing up or you're having stomach issues. Electrolytes is sodium and sodium is salt.
Share your knowledge about calories. Enlighten us on how they all are not created equal. This calorie counting stuff is not fun....hoping you can make it fun.

I have poor sleep too. One of my medications causes me drowsiness, and that's the only way I sleep most of the time.
