i can relate to this topic 100000000 %.... my biggest trigger is any kind of nuts ... cashews in particular. i've finally admitted defeat over this and will not allow myself to have 'just a few' ..... because ....the entire bag later ... I'm wondering what the hell just happened as i sit there in a food coma 😒 ..... I am doing the low carb and you can have nuts on there because they are pretty low in carbs...however i am like you i will over eat on them,,,but what i do is to count out a certain amount that is only few carbs and put in containers...i do that soon as i open the bag so i wont be tempted...i know it's super hard to not eat so many....but at least it makes it a little easier to control that way ..for me anyway...cangrats on the 18 pounds....so Awesome!!!
Girl, I hear you on the soda. I have been a Coke Zero addict for years after switching over from regular coke, but after getting real sick this past fall and not being able to drink it, when I tried it again, I found that I couldn’t stand it. The taste made me want to gag and spit it out, so now I have been soda free for the last 6 months…never thought I would get there, but so glad to no longer crave it! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
I absolutely love your channel. Im over 300 pounds. I have severely osteoarthritis in both knees and no cartilage in either knee. I also found out that I have rickets due to dangerously low vitamin d levels. Which have caused my legs to be badly deformed. I cant stand on my own. I have to use a walker and a wheelchair to get around. Things have gotten really hard for me recently. My food triggers is just about anything. Yes, i would love to know what you do to substitute your triggers. God bless you for all you do to help others. You are a god send.❤
That is how I started my weight loss journey. Finding and making the foods I loved then I’ve adapted over the past 23 years to lose and keep off over 130lbs ❤keep sharing your story and encouraging people. Love this channel and you!
I’m so glad you advised just avoiding those trigger foods and find healthy alternatives. So many people in my life just say “oh, everything in moderation.” 😖 but that doesn’t work for me! Maybe those people are just not triggered by certain foods. And good for them! But the struggle is real for me and chocolate and cheese and cookies and chips and……
Höchstens 1x pro Jahr an Weihnachten.
Thank you. This came at a great time just had a binge on some VD goodies left over. Felt immediate regret. Got right back to keto today. Family doesn't understand about a food addiction no one else has any issues with food in my family. It's a real struggle.
Thank you for sharing about your family. I go through the same thing with food addiction especially sugar but I had a tendency to binge even if I ate a really great salad with ranch and some crackers I would just keep going and going. I am being more mindful of myself and my husband doesn’t really get it but he has never experienced it so I def understand. That’s why we need this community ❤
Instead of pasta I use Palmini Hearts of Palm Pasta or Its Skinny Pasta. Instead of sodas I drink Zevia Tea. I enjoyed LMNT & Ritual vitamins that you have recommended. Do you have an Essential Amino Acid that you can recommend? Thanks!
Thank you for this video!!!❤ I thought I was alone being a cereal LOVER! YES, any time of day.🥴 Please share your substitutes for your triggers. My are very much the same.🤪❤
Bread, chips, chocolate, soda and cake are my triggers. Because of your recipes, I’ve managed to replace them. I’ve had to give up so many of my favorite foods, even cried over some of them so I can relate to the struggle. The emotional rollercoaster that is still there when I see someone eating something that would send me into a binge still exists though and I’m not sure that will ever go away. I am glad to know I’m not alone. God bless 💕
i am the all or nothing gal with my trigger foods... can be chips or candy sometines choc and sometines cheese. If i don't have it in the house i have less triggers for them. Sometines i can say to myself i don't need it today I can have it another day. I also try to get focused something non food. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤
I love to make a ton of power balls. Oats, chia seeds, coconut flakes unsweetened, peanut butter or almond butter, honey, and a few chocolaye chips. When I get a craving those for the trick for me.
I'm in the process of getting away from my triggers right now. Day 2. Sweets and it's so hard but I'm going to try the brownie recipe you made. Help me Lord to get away from the trigger fooooods I have alot❤ Thank you for this video and yes please explain when you feel comfortable 🙏
Love your videos!! I regularly binge watch them😂! Thanks for your honesty! I am sending so many of my friends to your channel lately..please keep talking about your journey..you’re such a great inspiration and beautiful person❤. After 6 kids(all grown now) the triggers are multiple, but we can find strength with each other.. I fall, but with your help, I get up again😊
Love this chat, I remember the first time I heard the term “trigger foods” and put the connection together it was emotional to say the least but also empowering. Then I could make changes and swap out for better choice but going grocery shopping was such a struggle. 3yrs later it’s definitely better but still a learning environment
I definitely have binged before so I get it. My trigger is sweets - mostly chocolate and baked goods 👌🏾 Once I took those out , I began binging on the substitutions like all of the low carb treats and keto treats
Just starting my journey of weight loss /healthy eating. I have been binge watching your videos. You are such an inspiration and incredibly relatable. Your honesty and openness is so refreshing. Love your recipes as well. Really liked this video. I know exactly what my “trigger” foods are and would love, love to hear your substitutions. My triggers are Doritos, candy like gummies, Swedish fish etc.) ice cream. I hope you are incredibly proud of yourself. You certainly should be!🥳❤️
The struggle is REAL...I'm trying to reduce my coffee/creamer consumption. I've tried to justify it by saying that I'm eating a salad so it balances...but I know it needs to go. Thank you for sharing your testimony. I'm really enjoying these talks.
I’m happy to report that I went from 2 regular sodas daily to 2 zero sodas a day and now, I have a soda zero or regular once a week in the weekend and that’s it! That’s a big step for me. Now I’m drinking unsweetened tea. It took years but I did it and I’m proud 😊
I’ve been there and I feel so guilty! I want to lose my weight! I really appreciate your honesty and you always give me hope from watching your site . You’ve been a long way . I do drink soda but I don’t hardly drink anything else ! I’m not a sugar person but I can’t get my zone going on losing this weight ! Keep up your great work and sharing your help to all of us watching your site . It helps me 👍 Thank you 🙏🏻
I am not someone who likes to cook. I have collected a lot of low carb recipes, now all I have to do is make them. I have played with keto for years and fallen off the edge more than once. Since I don’t like to cook snatch and grab food is my downfall. Thanks for telling me if I want to make it work full time I need to get back into the kitchen. Recently I watched your 90 second one serving dessert. Wish me luck cause I’m going back in. 😂
I hate my mindset. I love your videos btw. Currently intermittent fasting. Please talk about your story, I honestly feel like that only happened to me. Last month I had a binge day and I literally cried. I ate my daughters donut she didnt want and I ended up eating so much that day I ended up literally throwing up because of how upset my stomach was. Like you, I am usually super conscious of what I eat but that day I was not myself. I had my fourth baby 8 weeks ago and I really REALLY want my body back. Its so hard it feels impossible at times.
Congratulations 🎉 It's not impossible. It all has to do with what we put in our mouth, not exercise. Ii got to 125 pounds from 185. I suffered severe depression for at least 4 months. I ate halal lamb over rice 2 times a day with water. I was in bed the whole time. It takes patience. We are on track with Low Carb Love.
Congrats. You CAN do this, but you HAVE to be content with it being a slow loss while you find high protein, high fiber foods & veggies & berries that you love eating. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, spices...homemade dips like Greek yogurt & peanut butter powder with an apple. Oats soaked in Greek yogurt, berries & protein powder or protein drink. Focus on protein with every meal and snack. It helps build muscle & the more muscle the more calories you burn at a resting rate & helps toward strong bones. Soooo many delicious foods that fuel your body for weight loss and good health. Slow and steady wins the race. I've lost 32 pounds in 3.5 months being consistent, not being hungry & still having the OCCASIONAL thing that isn't considered healthy. You CAN do this.
@@curiousobserver5332Thank you for the kind words and encouragement. Congrats on your weight loss it must feel amazing. God willing I will be there one day.
Please make a video about the carbs that you eat a week before your menstrual cycle. I noticed I crave carbs hugely the week before mine and would like to see how you go about it and how you avoid bad cravings during it. ❤
One thing I noticed when I was doing Keto is that I didn’t crave sugary foods. Unless I splurged and had a sweet item. Thats when I found some trigger foods for me. Great video.
Wow!!! I am literally going through the struggle of wanting to consume some junk food at this very moment! This video was so on point!! Thank❤you for your honesty!!!
I'm mostly irish so my son and I love potatoes. He went on Keto and I found so many ways to use the whole cauliflower for a substitute. Shave off the very top for rice and mashed potatoes. Then use the stocks and that large core for boiled, roasted, home fries, hash brown's, even shorter French fries. Oh even the leaves can be cooked same as you cook other greens. No more wast...lol 😅 Maybe if you try this you can show your viewers. Thanks ❤
Please share your sweets and junk food substitutes. I think that’s the hardest thing most of us struggle with. I have a big sweet tooth. Love your channel! ❤
Ninja Creami!!! I eat ice cream every night but because I use almond milk and some other things, it makes it like less than 300 cal and I’m even able to add some mix ins like one to two Oreo thins
@carltonriley3630.....love my creami as well. I also use almond milk & zero carb protein powder. I sometimes add a little no sugar greek yogurt on the respin & it's so yummy.
I never really understood the binging. I never thought that I had that problem. Well, i just finished binging on some ice cream and came across this video....O M G, i just realized i have a problem. It's few and far between, but if given the circumstances to do it, I've given in every time. Thank you for your honesty. I've got some work to do! Im going to try and stay hydrated and find substitutes. Please share more in future videos for us that have nowhere to go to help us REALLY GET IT.
I have only just started a low carb way of eating. I'm into week one and so far doing OK but wow I do miss my bread, coke, cakes and slices oh and ice cream😅 And that's why I'm so grateful comming across your channel to find substitutes for these foods😊
Thank you for talking about this - I the “trigger” idea took me o long to learn! Funny you mention Doritos, I was addicted. I have since substituted with popcorn. I dont care for sweets - but savory/salty can be my downfall. I would love to know more about your substitutes for trigger foods.
Hey Myra, thanks for sharing this video. I definitely agree with you. Once you start you can’t stop. It’s definitely hard to find what you can substitute your trigger foods for but once you do it, you can become successful and maintaining.
My mashed potato cheat on Thanksgiving / birthday turned into 3 months of chips, crackers, cookies and now trying to get back to keto, it is an addiction. From now on I'm going to be organized and make keto/low carb treats and snacks.
Those "treat days" are a set up. We are setting ourselves up. Now we have to set up ourselves with substitute foods. By the way I love mash potatoes now I need to love the caulimash instead.
My trigger food is white chocolate and even buying some from ChocZero I still binge eat so I just have to stay away from it. And the funny thing is this just came out of nowhere one day where I started craving white chocolate and started buying SF white chocolate and I would still binge eat it
I understand 10000% about choc zero.. I LOVE choc zero chocolate chips.. I melt them and put over my ratio yogurt.. but I can’t stay away from this combo.. I know they are sugar free but the calories add up.. I just can’t seem to quit eating this.. I have one every day ( yogurt and melted chocolate chips).. don’t know any substitutes..
I have a Soda King. I love it because I make my own mineral water. This helps me to drink water as I love the bubbles. One day someone was being "nice" and bought me the diet cola flavoured syrup. I was instantly addicted and couldn't stop drinking it. I was relieved one day when the flavour became unavailable and you couldn't buy it for months. I have never gone back to buying it again and drinking my plain bubble water again. We do have to look out for well meaning loved ones
What’s important is to identify the emotional triggers that result in loss of control. Food can’t “trigger” you. That’s an excuse to not take responsibility for the lack of control. How about learning a new healthy relationship with those foods?
I was SO hooked on soda! Now I drink Zevia! Its good and the ingredients are good too!! It probably wont trigger you because it has none of the addicting, bad ingredients that coke, Pepsi etc have in them!
I went from 4-5 diet cokes a day, I got down to 1 in the morning for the past 2 years....I will grab one if I am running errands all day. I am currently trying to get off the diet coke and have 7 up zero sugar ( I have reasons for this :( ) I use to hate water, but I like it now, plain water is actually good. I do use crystal light alot as well.
trigger foods are so hard, bread or anything really sweet can trigger a binge for me. It's best just not to have the food around the house at all for me
I pretty much ate like a teenage boy from birth to age 31. I'm 44 now. Since then I only eat until I'm satiated. Being full hurts my bust remiscent of growing pains. They are five cup sizes too large (34GG or 32LL; want to be a 34D or 32E), so I don't like that feeling. Also, pretty much get a rash when I consume too much of a food. Even with my favorite treats I limit it to one or two servings and every once in a while. Water kefir or fruity kombucha gives me the pleasant fizz but also boosts my immune system. I drink one per day. I mostly drink water with a splash of unsweetened cranberry juice). My most favorite food is sinigang (Filipino sour soup). I put lots of vegetables and broth in mine. Can be eaten as is or with cauliflower rice or regular rice. Lee doesn't like it, but our son Daniel loves it. It is pretty much a love or hate dish.
Hi I have been doing intermittent fasting since 2018 however in 2022 I lost both my parents within 30 days of each other so my stress has been high and I started back in drinking Dr Pepper one almost everyday so I’m trying to get back off it that would be one of my trigger foods my question is what about the sugar free de pepper here and there when you fell that craving is that good
Sweets is the only trigger our craving I have. Thanks to your channel and can make key friendly ones now, but it’s a daily thing. I need to curb that behavior
This is me. Could u give some of the items u have found. I never heard of those chips before. Please. I just flat out still crave sugar and salt things like chips. Been carnavore/ a little ketovore for 2 months, slip up sometimes, like the eclair my husband bought yesterday
I gave up Diet Coke this year and the only beverage I have had since Jan 19th has been water ( I stir stepped off of it startingJan 2nd. Whenever I feel like I may want one, I remind myself it’s nothing but a chemical concoction that triggers sugar cravings.
Popcorn. Ice cream. Big Macs or fast food greasy burgers with a few fries; oh, but well done, triple blanched and fried French fries. Oh…fair foot-long pogos with mustard. A perfect pumpkin spice donut. A chocolate croissant. So…I’ve avoided all of these triggers and realize that they’re all self-soothing. I order magic spoon cereal and make a bowl of avocado, nuts, 10:20 berries, hemp hearts, a small Greek plain yoghurt and unsweetened almond milk. But, I’ve lost the weight so at Halloween, if I find that donut, life’s too short. I’m grabbing a coffee with Costco erythritol monk fruit blend sugar and cream and I’m stopping time. Every mouthful is a privilege. I approach these isolated treats like I’m in war rations, grateful for every mouthful instead of needing to eat the portions I did before. It’s an ongoing struggle but at the end of the day I remember how crappy I felt because I couldn’t digest this food. Clean, simple eating pays dividends.
I found out that diet sodas have a hormone in them that gets you hungry or gives you cravings. I can't do the suggestion packets because my body is literally sensitive to sodium. My body blew up with water retention with just calcium citrate. Here are my issues, low salt diet, low carb lifestyle, no caffeine. I always thought, then what can I have? And some of your recipes have chocolate which has caffeine. So my body is very sensitive (I'm learning). I've lost so far a total of 43lbs since March of last year 😊.
no I feel this for me honeybuns are my trigger foods. I would literally eat like 15 back to back and just gobble them down cuz I loved them so much. I had to give them up. I haven't had for like almost 1 year now. and this is also another reason why I don't do cheat days either with my favorite foods. ill do a cheat day like go to dinner with friends or something but never like go to my favorite fast food spot and eat from there because I would devour the whole menu without a second thought
Hello. So im 5'4' and i weigh in at 190 lbs and im wanting to get down to at least 145ish again. And i need some tips on what i can eat to loose the weight
I would have to say my trigger food are chips.. Lays chips. I need help in finding a substitute for these. I started my weight loss journey in January 2024. I only weigh myself once a month, and the next weigh-in is coming on March 7, 2024. I am doing ok, but I'm nervous about this coming weigh-in? I was fine drinking water in the beginning, I haven't been a water drinker in the past, and I'm struggling with it..
My trigger foods are French fries and fast food. Once I allow myself to give into that craving, all rules go out the window and it’s a downward spiral. I can’t wait for warm weather to return so I can start grilling my own burgers to eat in lettuce wraps. Do you know of a good French fry dupe?
I have to avoid trigger foods AND their substitutes most of the time. I cannot have brownies and I cannot have “healthy swap” brownie. I will binge both so I need to eliminate them altogether.
Doritos 100%! I grew up eating them evert single day. We'd melt cheese on them and eat them as nachos for lunches, snacks, or whenever we felt like it! I could literally eat a whole bag of Doritos in a day. Still to this day, they're my biggest trigger and craving, and I'm in my 40s now. On low carb, I've found I like the Quest nacho chips and the Atkins ones. They don't taste exactly like Doritos but if I'm really wanting chips, they'll satisfy that craving. My addiction to Doritos is so bad, I can't even keep them in my house for my kids to eat, because I will end up giving in and binging on them myself 😞
This really hits home. I do great for a couple weeks and then I totally get junk at the grocery store. And once I have it home I just have to eat it. The key is not buying it so why do I do that?
I encourage you to try some of the following: - write a list before shopping - tick off as you go and remain on track - visit only aisles that have those products - not be distracted with deals - eat before going to shop - ask yourself why do you need the item that’s not on your list - why is the item important to you Hope this helps
I love your transparency. My triggers were ice cream, bread, cookies, bakery goods, etc.
Same
Same with me

I crave sweets after lunch. I’ve found that prepping chia pudding cups with fruit topping helps! So does ACV water. Love the content in your videos. ❤
I have this same craving after lunch.
Love this video. My trigger foods are chips, cheese and peanut butter.
Excellent point about dehydration when you're craving certain foods.

I've lost 32 pounds in 3.5 months being consistent, not being hungry & still having the OCCASIONAL thing that isn't considered healthy. You CAN do this.
@@dewieli2389I love lamb, thank you for the encouragement and congratulations that is a huge accomplishment.
I can totally relate to it. Have been through this journey as well. More power to us ❤
Great video! I couldnt have said it better myself
Please share whatever you feel comfortable with. The more information we have the better we can help ourselves. Thank you Mayra😊
I'm mostly irish so my son and I love potatoes. He went on Keto and I found so many ways to use the whole cauliflower for a substitute. Shave off the very top for rice and mashed potatoes. Then use
the stocks and that large core for boiled, roasted, home fries, hash brown's, even shorter French fries. Oh even the leaves can be cooked same as you cook other greens. No more wast...lol 😅
Maybe if you try this you can show your viewers.
This is a great topic. Yes, share more of your journey.
Hey! I love frappes. Could you share a variety or different flavors to make. Thank you!!
Thank you for this video
I have only just started a low carb way of eating. I'm into week one and so far doing OK but wow I do miss my bread, coke, cakes and slices oh and ice cream😅 And that's why I'm so grateful comming across your channel to find substitutes for these foods😊
Can you show all of your keto snacks and cereal on your next video please
I am so like you were. Cereal is a staple for me. I just found your channel today. I need this!
Keep the great videos coming.
I’m loving this series of videos, they are very helpful! Thank you!❤
Thank you for sharing 😊
I have a Soda King. I love it because I make my own mineral water. This helps me to drink water as I love the bubbles. One day someone was being "nice" and bought me the diet cola flavoured syrup. I was instantly addicted and couldn't stop drinking it. I was relieved one day when the flavour became unavailable and you couldn't buy it for months. I have never gone back to buying it again and drinking my plain bubble water again. We do have to look out for well meaning loved ones
Thanks for sharing. My trigger food is chips. I will go in a full binge after one. So, I have to stay away from them.
Im loving these type of videos.
Thanks for the information !
Great videos I love this format and topics - so real !
Helps me on my journey !❤
Pizza is a trigger bought it for kids for dinner and COULD NOT resist
What’s important is to identify the emotional triggers that result in loss of control. Food can’t “trigger” you. That’s an excuse to not take responsibility for the lack of control. How about learning a new healthy relationship with those foods?
Great video. Food for thought… Thank you.
Thanks for sharing Mayra.
The damn cereal I swear. Cereal is one of the words for me
Best channel ever
I need this❤
My weakness ALL sweets, cookies, cakes, candies.
Will u make a recipe book
I was SO hooked on soda! Now I drink Zevia! Its good and the ingredients are good too!! It probably wont trigger you because it has none of the addicting, bad ingredients that coke, Pepsi etc have in them!
Did you find a substitute for popcorn with butter?
Last night we went to an Italian restaurant and over did it. Can't eat to fill up anymore. When will I learn😢
I gave up Diet Coke this year and the only beverage I have had since Jan 19th has been water ( I stir stepped off of it startingJan 2nd. Whenever I feel like I may want one, I remind myself it’s nothing but a chemical concoction that triggers sugar cravings.
Yes there’s a lot of healthy foods out there now. I have lost 55 pounds and keeping it off because of you and the Ecko Digger Team.
Popcorn.
Did you do any kind of workout for your weight loss journey.
Cookies are Life! ❤
I absolutely love ❤️ love 💕 love 💗 you. Your awesome 😎 I will tell everyone about your channel.
How long did it take you to get comfortable, strong, and focused to where you haven't gone back?
She's right. Who knew that the Pringle commercial was a WARNING!
Hello. So im 5'4' and i weigh in at 190 lbs and im wanting to get down to at least 145ish again. And i need some tips on what i can eat to loose the weight
I just been doing alot of over eating.
My husband can eat whatever he wants and has all kind of junk food in the house. How do I start and keep going when I have him?
My triggers white bread and chocolate desserts chips. Too much fruits in the summer
My trigger food is chocolate m&ms, sneackers, frappuchinos 😱😱😱
I have no concept of moderation it’s all or Notning for me so I have to cut out chips and all that otherwise I’ll eat the whole bag and then some
Jalapeno chips….yep the whole bag!
I’ve noticed diet soda has made me stall I thought it was just me I feel you on the soda it’s my biggest trigger
Your so beautiful Inside is what matters! The outside is obvious ❤️❤️❤️
You go girl 😎🙂😎🙂😎🙂
I think you do a live.
Mine is bread and sweets and chips
This really hits home. I do great for a couple weeks and then I totally get junk at the grocery store. And once I have it home I just have to eat it. The key is not buying it so why do I do that?
Vielleicht liegt es am Unterbewusstsein.
Vielleicht will man den Vergleich zu früheren Zeiten sehen.
Menschen sind neugierig und experimentierfreudig.
I encourage you to try some of the following:
- write a list before shopping
- tick off as you go and remain on track
- visit only aisles that have those products
- not be distracted with deals
- eat before going to shop
- ask yourself why do you need the item that’s not on your list
- why is the item important to you
Hope this helps
