There are 5 guitar players that I know by one note.
      Jimmy is one of them.

Diamond rio has songs that say soooo much! I hope the younger generation finds your music, you all are truly awesome! Just listened to you in Wichita ks. Right before Christmas 2022, you guys still impress! Nowhere bound, Kentucky mine, don’t forget to pray for me..can’t get enough!

My favorite tele player and IMO the best when it comes to benders. Still have the issue of country guitar magazine that featured Jimmy. I can’t get enough of these interviews. Keep up the great work!

My dad was in the house band at Kewadin Casino in the early 90's. Diamond Rio came through and were playing in the other room. I remember standing in a room off the side of the stage listening to Jimmy O's Matchless just CRANKING. Killer tone. Monster player! I was in heaven! I could have stayed in there all night!!

There is only one Jimmy Olander. So articulate and fun. His playing is on another level.

I played banjo and acoustic guitar in that same show at Fiesta Texas in the mid 90’s when it was owned by Opryland. The guy who’d fly in from TN would tell me Jimmy played this same show. Even as a banjo player he knew I’d be a Jimmy O fan. I wasn’t smart enough to touch a telecaster until a few years ago. Over the years banjo has made me tens of dollars.

Jimmy told me he played Matchless amps many years ago when in an autograph line at the National FFA Convention. I skipped all the other members of the group just to have time to talk guitar stuff with Jimmy Olander. I was an Agriculture Teacher in need of another amp because my solid state Yamaha G212 was giving me trouble. As my students were getting autographs, I was talking Matchless amps with Jimmy. I was in guitar heaven. I had never heard of Matchless but when I got back home in Alabama I called my friend that worked in a prominent Atlanta music store and bought a DC30. I’ve been able to visit with Jimmy 3 times and he was always gracious.

You know, I didn't realize how much I'd missed these live interviews. Great to be reminded how much people talking in the same room matters. And man...this really fits into the bender theme over on your own channel. So great for both!

Such a humble guy. The Brent Mason story is great. I met Jimmy at a state fair gig in '93. He let me hang out with him for about a half hour pre show backstage. He was humble and pleasant then and obviously still is. I'm not surprised.

Zac thanks for having Jimmy O on. He's one of my all time favorite players, period. Diamond Rio deserves to be in the CMHF if there not already. I can't think of a band that has lasted as long as they have with all the same people, barring Dan Trumen. Love your show Zac. Keep it coming

I love Diamond Rio, my uncle and I love hearing Jimmy Olander pick his Guitar, he is one of the best guitar players in the world right beside Brent Mason, Albert Lee, Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill. I would love to hear Jimmy Olander and Brent Mason play together some day soon.

This was a GREAT interview!!! Jimmy was really kind to me when I met him a few years ago. He was humble when I told him I have enough trouble with a single bender and I didn't know how he played the double bender. He replied, "some nights I don't know how I do it either." (By the way I kinda want that guitar shaped table).

Wow. An afternoon with Jimmy Olander. What an awesome opportunity.
Thanks for dragging us along Zac. This was maybe my favorite interview of ANY musician, ever. But I'm a big fan of Diamond Rio and Jimmy O.
I was bouncing around bar stages when Diamond Rio hit the charts. I can remember spending hours in the band bus trying to figure out how to play those parts without the benders. Sometimes I was able to do it, sometimes not. My best was Mirror, Mirror but it took me A LOT of hours practicing to get those lead licks down.
Thanks again! This brought back some great memories for me, and I'm hoping some good memories for Mr. Olander as well.

My original guitar hero was Duane Eddy....still love his sound to this day. I am a pretty narrow minded old geezer now and only listen to Duane, fingerstyle players like Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, a couple of blues guys namely Robben Ford, Albert Collins and Lonnie Mack and a whole bunch of Telecaster guys like James Burton, Albert Lee, Vince Gill, Steve Wariner and now I am learning about Jimmy Olander.
    Another terrific interview Zac.
