Redeye I love the fact that you point out everything that they should have done which would have kept us from having the movie happen like the fact they could taking there time to do the Heist after killing all the agents on the plane .
I can’t believe you didn’t bring up how Frank has the most maniacal grin in cinema history on his face when Sarah is about to fall and then looks like he bursts into hysterics when she does actually fall. I’m sure it was unintentional but even as a kid watching this I was like “is that old guy one of the bad guys or something? Why does he look so happy about that woman falling to her death” I don’t know why they couldn’t have reshot it and told the actor playing Frank to tone down his facial expressions for that. It’s just him and Michael rooker on a fake cliff yelling things at Stallone off camera. Couldn’t have been hard to do.
This was one goofy movie. The one thing that bugged me about it, was the trailer that was released for it. In the trailer, they show the woman falling to her death. I knew when I saw it, that they gave away an important moment of the movie in the trailer itself. So, when I saw the movie with friends - who hadn't seen the trailer - when this scene came up I already knew what was going to happen. So, when she fell everyone in the theater gasped with shock. I, on the other hand, was pissed off that they had shown this in the trailer. From that scene on, I lost total respect for the movie and the makers behind it. Plus, some of the VFX in this film were really bad. My only lasting memory of this movie was its horrible trailer. Thankfully, you saved the day by bringing some humor into the mix. And for that, I am grateful. Long live, RedEye Reviews!!!
This is actually one of the best 90's action flicks. Lithgow is a phenomenal villain, there's zany one-liners, the score is great, Sly is badass, and the pacing is solid. Go watch it if you haven't
Renny Harlin also directed Born American (1986). Check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Daylight and The Specialist are two other Stallone movies that should be featured on this channel.
One of your longest reviews yet, and I suspect that climbing is something dear to your heart. Watch what you say about "soccer guy" though because Craig Fairbrass has built an impressive filmography as one of DTV's hardest and will eat you for breakfast lol.
18:10 your question reminds me of a mountaineering game from the 80s. It was called Final Assault and made by Epyx. You set out on a mountaineering expedition and had to plan the whole thing. You could pack your ruck yourself OR you could let the computer pack it for you. But that was a silly thing to do because the computer would pack all kinds of silly things so you HAD to check your loadout. The only time I used the auto-packing option I found a microwave oven in the ruck but no rope. That would have made it difficult to summit Kilamanjaro for sure.

Such a *classic*
The special effects might be ropey during the hijacking scene but the actual stuntwork involved was *incredible*
Highly recommend people check out the _"behind the scenes"_ - the stunt actually went wrong but they only did it once, so they just made it part of the film!
That bolt gun had me rolling
"Maybe one day we'll watch Vertical Limit and you guys can watch me slowly go insane," he says at the exact moment I open a new tab and see his Vertical Limit upload.
You're killing with the impersonations! I absolutely love it 😂
Lol I had to do so many different takes of his voice.
Didn't realize that Yondu and the leader of the Ravagers used to be climbing buddies. Really deepens their relationship.
This movie is beautiful. It may be goofy as hell, but the breathtaking views are worth the price of admission.
One of RedEyes best reviews yet 😂😂😂
So the bad guys just happened to be “carrying a clunky radio” while supposedly lost during a hike? Lol, right. Great video 🤙!
Redeye I love the fact that you point out everything that they should have done which would have kept us from having the movie happen like the fact they could taking there time to do the Heist after killing all the agents on the plane .
Until next time my RedEyed friends. Stay Happy and Stay Healthy!
In the begining of the movie when Sarah falls to her death everyone needs to watch the face of Frank . Best acting actor ever. 👏🤣
Did he win a plethora of awards?
@@threatassessment606 No, but he did a lot of cocaine and felt like a winner anyway. Both before and after the scene!
The opening scene of this movie reminds of the raccoon scene in "Ace Ventura: When nature calls"
“That’s it. Did I solve the case?” Bahahahaha!!! Another great job!
I actually saw this in the theater back in the day. Highly recommended. Good commentary track, too.
Glad to see you've got round to doing Cinema Sins, Everything Wrong With... Die Hard on a Mountain.
probably your best yet. great work!
Great video as always!
Interesting Trivia... the British guy actually did the voiceover for Gaz in the videogame Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
So many parts in this movie that made me LOL. He actually got to the top of a mountain in less that 30seconds of the radio call😂😂😂😂
"I told you to call me Night Hawk." dying here
Evil Frank at the beginning was always the funniest part of the movie for me.
So cool you are a climber, amazing eye red review. Little slice of laughter 😃
Cliffhanger was an awesome movie. Period
My number one favorite movie of all time
Man, this vid was such a good laugh. Nice one man!!
Another gem of a “cliffhanger”
Want to watch a movie where John Lithgow truly goes batshit crazy?
“Ricochet” your welcome everyone.
3:18 The pilot doesn't care if he shoots a hole through the window of the cockpit!
Great review Redeye. I love that movie ❤
Daylight= Cliffhanger in the sewer
