I watched this video because I attended Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp in Las Vegas, NV back in Feb. 2015, and we played this song with Sammy Hagar. I was on keyboards, and although my replication of the piano riff wasn't exact, I think I got it pretty close. This song fascinated me when it came out back in 1992, and it was such an honor to back up Sammy Hagar himself on it.
So... everyone is concerned about Sammy not hitting the high notes anymore. Folks, he's 65. Over time you lose some strength but the control is there. He's still got some good chops. If you watch the Van Halen segment on Ellen with DLR. He's far worse and pitchy as hell. My concern here is more the backing vocals. Remember, this song was recorded 1992. That's 23 years ago. Look at Iron Maiden, they tuned down in the later years so Bruce could hit the notes and save his voice. No shame in it. Still beats the hell outta all the lip sync shit out there.
+Newton Szabo True. There are very few guys over 65 that can hit those notes still. Maybe the late Ronnie James Dio, that's one guy, but besides him that's it.
VivaToddVegas he's recently said he probably has maybe another year or two before it's gone. He's aware. However considering his age, it's damn fine. ...especially compared to DLR who's years younger.
VivaToddVegas He sounds pretty damn good for 67. DLR sounded horrible on Jimmy Kimmel. The odd thing is that Dave was trying to hit high notes when the original melody was lower. Dave deviates all over the place from the original melody. Sammy sticks to the original melody like singers should do.

Sammy sounds like shit, and he's a pathetic compulsive liar. Wrote a book filled with 42 easily proven lies. Sad little man.
Rather have van halen tour with sammy than roth. They put out a shit live album and then sammy puts out a really good greatest hits live album
+Robert G. He sings better than roth ever could
Dude Roth sucks let him sit in his golf suit
Sammy always says his voice is still intact, but he avoids the high notes all over this song.
PowersOnDrums Don't get me wrong, he still has 80% more of his voice left than DLR does, but it is not 100% like he claims.
PowersOnDrums he was drunk? Really?

foggyblues13 Definitely has more of his voice left than DLR.

Sammy beats the shit out of David Lee Roth. DLR is fucking terrible.
